One year for Christmas I bought a lovely box of tiny Dior fragrances for my mother for her Christmas.
Last Christmas I received, what I had thought had been a lovely gift, re-wrapped and given back to me. Merry Christmas! Of course I loved the prezzie considering it was me that BOUGHT IT!
Gladly, having my gift so kindly returned gave me the opportunity to sample Miss Dior eau de toilette.
Having tried this I immediately wanted to buy a bottle. Unfortunately, in my view, it's pretty expensive at around £76 for 100ml so this may need to be purchased as a very special treat.
Miss Dior Cherie comes in a girly but elegant clear glass square shaped bottle with a girly little bow beneath the cap. the label is a very understated white and silver affair simply displaying the name in pretty swirly lettering.
I am not a particularly girly girl therefore, this is certainly not the type of bottle that would attract me. If I hadn't tried a sample I may have never had the pleasure of this gorgeous fragrance.
The scent is heady and intoxicating. Initially when I applied it I thought it smelled like citrus but once the product has settled on the skin for a few minutes a more sweet intoxicating floral fragrance comes to the fore with the citrus lingering in the background giving the fragrance a little extra bite.
Overall, I don't think the bottle matches the fragrance. To me the bottle says sweet and girly but in my view the fragrance itself is much more grown up sophisticated and sexy.
Although, this fragrance is floral it is not floral in an English rose garden sense. This fragrance is more exotic conjuring up images of the African rain forest on a hot musky night. This is a very sensual fragrance. The heady sensual smell may come from patchouli, a herb that grows in tropical climes and is often used for its essential oils.
I found this fragrance to be strong so a little did go a long way and it does have staying power therefore, the higher price may be justified in this case.
I love this fragrance and I am already looking forward to splashing out on a full size bottle. If you are looking for a grown up sexy scent as a special treat spoil yourself with Miss Dior.
Being a fan of Diors perfumerie I purchased the new Miss Dior Cherie L'eau after smelling a tester at my local chemist.
The bottle is, in true Dior fashion, simplistic chic at its best, from the lid, to the bow, to the shaped inside, it screams classic Dior styling.
The perfume itself is a sweet girly smelling perfume, perfect for long summer evenings, a blend of white musk, gardenia and some bitter orange. A little of this perfume goes a long way, you don't want to smell like you've had a bath in it, so one or two quick spritzs will suffice for most occasions.
I love this perfume and have actually kept it as one of my secret scents when people ask what I am wearing.
A modern, fresh, flirty summer scent, a little on the pricey side, but that is to be expected considering it's pedigree brand.
highly recomeended, but shhhh, keep it a secret
I bought Dior Cherie L'eau at the airport after testing lots of others but this one was a bit special and in true Dior style was neither cheap in price or smell.
I was delighted with the purchase I had made. This is a lovely floral fragrance, which is a blend of bitter orange, gardenia and white musk. I find it quite strong but not overpowering and ideal for summer evenings.
The packaging is traditional Dior with a modern twist. I remember my mother having Miss Dior in the 60's when the bottle had a black and white hounds tooth check and neat little ribbon bow. This has been updated but the trademark bow is still there.
Happily the fragrance also bears no resemblance to the powdery, slightly heavy scent of the original Miss Dior. Miss Dior Cherie L'eau is modern and fresh. Oh, and long lasting - worth every penny. Fab!
This is a very fresh sweet and girly smelling fragrance
For me though the down side is that it can become quite a sickly smelling perfume and be a little heady
Its not cheap for the money but you can tell that it is good quality and to be fair it is worth the money, but I would only wear this in small doses and not all the time as it can become too much, its not one of those scents that is likely to become your "signature perfume" that you wear all the time.
It comes in a pretty perfume bottle and everything about this perfume is very girly which is something that I usually love but I think they have just gone a tad bit ott with the scent make it that bit too sweet smelling and for that reason I don't think I would personally wear this again.
On a recent visit to my cousin's house she took me to see the view from her bedroom now that some trees have been cut down at the end of her extensive garden. It's a great view as she has a balcony which takes in a view of farmland and the river. I admit though, that on this occasion, I was more drawn to the display of perfumes on her dressing table. I thought I had a lot of perfumes until seeing hers. I think she must be obsessed with smells, and receives any new fragrance that she sees. She explained that a lot of these were gifts and any had been purchased in America, as she goes to Florida at least once a year.
Among other perfumes that were new to me, stood was a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie L'eau. I don't know where she obtained this particular one from. She told me to help myself to a spray, and so I did. I thought the fragrance attractive. Then I wished I hadn't said anything, as she told me to keep it, as she had been bought another bottle of this by her son, and had too many perfumes as it was. I did refuse, but I know when to give in, so relented. After all, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth? Not that my cousin is at all horsey! This bottle was almost full.
I have worn this fragrance a few times now and I am very impressed. Not only does it smell delightful but it lasts well. The smell seems to improve and be even nicer after an hour or so of wearing, in my opinion.
I was quite pleased to have this given, especially when saw hat Boots were selling it for £64 for a 100ml bottle! I never pay this much for a fragrance, so a gift is the only way this would occupy a position on my dressing table.
Knowing that this was quite expensive, by my standards at least, I became quite interested to know more. I had a look on the Dior website. This can be found at: www.dior.com
This is what they have to say about this fragrance
' Miss Dior Chérie L'eau is a smiling pastel fragrance. It is a fragrance born in spring evoking the awakening of nature and senses. Miss Dior Chérie is a refreshing, delectable and luminous eau for a burst of charm. It is a fresh, cheerful fragrance, a promise of pastel happiness for an elegant young woman, full of life. With her sparkling allure, detached charm and day-to-day grace, her beauty symbolizes freshness and spontaneity." François Demachy - Dior Fragrance Creator'
Yes, it does smell spring like, or even summery. I consider it to be fresh and pretty and most of all...interesting. It smells floral but deeper, with a more exotic fragrance, I feel.
TOP NOTE-BLOOD ORANGE ESSENCE
Blood orange is a variety of orange that contains anthocyanin, a pigment common in many types of fruit but rarely found in citrus fruit, giving its flesh its reddish color. It is a sweet and tasty fruit and is particularly popular in Italy. Blood orange essence gives off fresh, energizing tones.
HEART NOTES-ESSENCE OF NEROLI
The floral fragrance of Neroli and Calabrian Bergamot is a traditional combination used in High Perfumery eaux de Colognes.
Patchouli is a plant originally from Indonesia and Malaysia. A key element of the perfumer's palette, its essence is obtained by steam distilling the dried leaves. It is used in chypre, woody and oriental fragrances.
I think this fragrance is suitable for all age groups and although 'spring like' I wouldn't hesitate to wear it all year round at various occasions. I admit though that owing to the price and the fact that when this runs out I probably won't purchase a new bottle, I want to make it last. Therefore, for me, this won't be an everyday fragrance but one I'll be happy to apply on those rare occasions when I dress up and want to smell, especially nice
I think the container is a beautiful design which any female would be pleased to place on her dressing table. I believe it looks good against modern, simplistic style décor or a more traditional look. It isn't overbearing but classy. The pretty bow around the neck of the silver lid completes the feminie effect.
In my opinion this is one of the better fragrances to perform well for a long period of time. I can smell this on my wrist for hours and it remains pretty.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
As I have said, it's a little on the pricey side for me. However if you are prepared top pay this price then I'm sure you'll be pleased.
It seems to be available from most perfume stores and online outlets but from where I looked it appeared to be selling for around the same price. I'm sure that those of you who are adept at picking up bargains will find a better price.
It sells for £64 per 100 ml in Boots the chemist.
Debenhams sells this for £48 per 50ml and £68 per 100ml.
This is a fabulous fragrance. It is definitely one of my favourites
I do think it is a pricey fragrance, but well worth it. It does last longer than other fragrances I have used in the past.
I love the bottle, simple elegant and pretty, no fuss. It is not the needed, the fragrance speaks for itself.
This fragrance is one that so many people have commented on when I was wearing it, wondering what it is, and saying how lovely it is.
It is a long lasting perfume and not one that you need to reapply throughout the day. This is when it becomes value for money as you are not needing to reapply it a few times a day.
I feel this perfume is a statement, it is individual and unique. It stands out from the rest, It is a strong, feminine, glamorous fragrance. I feel that this is a definite positive purchase, albeit for yourself or a gift for someone special
First off i have to say that i LOVE the original Miss Dior Cherie so beating it was going to be hard. And sadly this didnt impress me. I love Eau de Parfum, it lasts longer on your skin, the fragrance is stronger so less is needed and because its strong every single note of the parfum is detected, right throughout the day. After 8 hours of wearing a fragrance the basenotes are evident and you still smell just as wonderful as you did at 9am! But sadly, with a Eau de Toilette its the opposite, the fragrance disappears at about 1pm if your lucky then you have to re-apply and obviously the perfume is used up quicker. Also i think the bottle is prettier as a subtle shade of pink-the Eau de Parfum! It is a beautiful fragrance whichever strength you decide on, a real girly fragrance that never fails to impress.
Miss Dior Cherie L'eau is yummy girls. If you haven't yet tried it then put it on your must try list as soon as you can. If you find that its delicate scent is for you once you have tried it then add it to your list of wants for your next birthday, anniversary or christmas gift, as cheap it is not! Though lush it is!
I have been a big Dior fan for a long time, with Miss Dior being very high on my list of all time favs. So when I came across the Miss Dior Cherie I fell in love with it easily and bought it without hesitation.
The same cannot be said for Miss Dior Cherie L'eau, it wasn't love at first sight. I am pleased to say though that after giving in and trying the scent that I am a firm convert.
When I first set eyes on Miss Dior Cherie L'eau, I didn't even bother giving it the time of day for ages as I thought that it looked a bit wishy washy when compared to Miss Dior Cherie's luscious peachy pink scent. How wrong I was!
The Cherie L'eau is a fresher take on the other scent which is hinted at through the lighter coloured green-ish tinged scent within the bottle. The bottle as ever is understated and a compliment to the scent, plain glass, simply shaped with just a hint at the classy contents within.
Dior themselves say that Cherie l'eau is a fragrance 'born in Spring evoking the awakening of nature and senses'. Well it is a fresher take on a spring time scent that still packs a punch and gives more than enough long lasting scent when spritzed softly on to the skin.
I like to spritz the scent on to freshly washed skin by just pressing very lightly on the spray top, then walking into the resulting mist, to get a very subtle covering all over. That way the scent envelopes your entirety, rather than just your pulse points.
Cherie Leau is very refreshing to wear on a light summers day and doesn't feel too heavy or clingy. It doesn't suffer from change from the heat of your body too dramatically throughout the day, but does to me seem to mellow a little.
When you first spritz on this scent you are hit by the fruitylicious scent of tangy bitter orange, this soon mellows just enough for the other ingredients like elegant floral gardenia with its sexy femininity to come through and add to the bitter sweet blend.
Gloriously blended white musks give a hint of just washed and showered perfection and also provide a long lasting base. As a fan of that kind of fresh long lasting soapy / cottony scent I really like the sensation of that.
There is also caramel and patchouli in this delightful scent designed by Francois Demachy. Think soft green fields and light summer florals with a bitter sweet yet fruity tang and you will be along the right lines with this scent.
Its a nice change from the more girly pink scents, although I think they too have their place, as I like to try a wide selection of scents to suit both season, mood and occasion.
In terms of price, this is not cheap to buy. Prices do vary a lot though and you will pay just a little more for this scent at your local Dior cosmetic and fragrance counter. A 50ml bottle will set you back around £40 to £45 online and a larger 100ml bottle could be closer to £70 to £79 for this bitter sweet green scent.
The Dior counter do rarely and grudgingly give away promo gifts from time to time so do look out for these. I was lucky enough to get a lovely J'adore minis gift set within a soft white leatherette gift box for free with my last Dior purchase.
Prices for this are only ever much reduced if you are lucky enough to find that Dior have created seasonal christmas gift boxes with this scent within. Mostly in my experience you can pick up plenty of J'adore and Poison in stores like debenhams after Christmas in the new year sales if you are quick off the mark. I have seen Miss Dior and Miss Dior Cherie reduced in this way once or twice too, but they do fly of the shelves and rightly so.
I am rating this with 5 stars as I really like it a lot and feel it deserves nothing less. It is lovely to wear but is a luxury priced scent so is a bit of a let down on price.

I was pleasantly surprised by MISS DIOR CHERIE L'EAU; I've tested Miss Dior Cherie quite a few times, but I'm still not keen on it. Nut L'EAU is totally different to the original and, in my opinion, should have been released under a new name, instead of as a flanker.
MISS DIOR CHERIE L'EAU opens with a sharp citrus vibe, centering on bitter orange, to give the fragrance a fresh, icy jolt of energy. The floral heart is very fresh and 'green'. The gardenia is the note that stands out the most, and to me it seems quite watery. I'm not a huge fan of floral fragrances; I find them too overpowering and strong, so I love the way the floral mingles with the citrus. I like the white musk base too. It's uncomplicated and clean.
Perfect for when I'm wearing jeans and a tee, but want to feel 'put together' but not all girlie

Orange, Gardenia and white musk (I've searched all major sites, but can't find a more complete list).

The bottle is the same as Miss Dior Cherie. It's simple yet cute, but I think it's a miss-match as the fragrance is more 'grown up' then the original.

MISS DIOR CHERIE L'EAU was designed to be airy and light for summer, and while it would indeed be perfect for hotter weather, I like the icy jolt I get by wearing in the cool autumn/winter mornings. The effect reminds me of J.Lo's Live Platinum.
I've found the lasting power to be good; But it goes close to the skin. It averages around five hours, making it better then Miss Dior Cherie EDP.

I really like this as it's a bit different to everything else in my collection; It's not sweet but it's not sour, it contains floral notes yet I wouldn't say it's overly 'flowery'; it's quite hard to explain, just test it and see.
Despite the fact that I'm fond of it, I'm not sure if I love it enough to replace my almost empty bottle. This is due to price however, not the actual fragrance.
