Advantages: Long lasting with a refreshing palette of a welcoming scent.

Disadvantages: Overpowering if used excessively with a bitter aniseed after bite.

I bought Avon's Absynthe, Eau de Perfume on the recommendation of my Avon representative,who I have known for many years.
It was on offer at the time(Autumn 2009)twenty pounds for 50ml,and a green cosmetic bag with the gift of a lip gloss and mascara worth £15.
Having just received some spare money for my birthday,and having no sent,I decided to treat myself to the perfume.

The packaging and bottle are quite lovely.The perfume comes in a pear shaped glass bottle with an easy to operate spray mechanism.

The perfume itself is quite over powering at first and pungent,and I recommend it is used sparingly.
Green anise and saffron,floral,rich smoky woods and liquid amber are all promised on the advertisement.
After the initial shock of the first spray,this has quite a nice after sent.
I,in my amateur perfume connoisseur role,smelt a mixture of very sweet floras mixed with a citrus smell.
As that subsides I smelt a strong and distinct smell of aniseed,which I found to be quite unpleasant.

That being said,the aniseed sent gradually wears off to be replaced by quite a pleasant and refreshing sent of woodland flowers.

I found the perfume to linger on my skin for at least six hours,gradually fading as the day wore on.On a side note,I found the perfume lingered for more then a day on the sleeves of my coat.

I give Avon's Absynthe Eau de Perfume 3 stars.A pleasant perfume,ideal as a gift or treat.
I do believe thought the that twenty pound is rather too much to part with,and that they are similar products available which such an amount of money would be better spent.

Summary: Overall a successful perfume for Avon,that would be best suited for long summer days.
