Advantages: Smells lovely and suitable for anyone. Smells better than Calvin Klein underpants!
Disadvantages: None at all exept that people 'borrow' it a lot!
Calvin Klein's CK1 comes in a plain box and a plain slim frosted glass bottle with the Logo CK one written in black. It is easy to recognise but it's plain packaging belies the subtlty of the fragrance.
It is one of my favourite perfumes and has been for a few years. My daughter, fully grown now, used to 'borrow' some from my dressing table and always seemed suprised when I knew she had done so as a drift of it wafted past on her.
Nowadays she buys her own CK one, she even buys it for me sometimes! A few more bottles and we should be even. (I wish!)
It is a unisex perfume. ( but please don't tell my husband.) It is not the cheapest Eau De Toilette on the market, but I think it is reasonable for what it is.
At the moment (Dec 08) it costs about £30 for 100ml.
I was in a local pharmacy just before Christmas looking for stocking fillers and came across some 15ml bottles for £2.50 each. Perfect for stockings! (one of them of course, was perfect for my handbag!) What a bargain! I have it here now.
It is not a very strong scent and can be used all over your body without fear of being overwhelming. I would say it was light, fresh, flowery and airy. (Can a scent be airy?) That's the word that came to mind anyway.
It is not particularly long lasting on the skin and would need to be reapplied in the evening if you were going out.

According to Calvin Klein's website......
"It has top notes of bergamot, cardamom, pineapple and papaya; middle notes: a special formulation derived from jasmine, violet, rose and nutmeg and base notes of musk and amber."

My nose says.....
I can't smell the nutmeg, I can smell the bergamot which I love. I imagine it is the spiciness of the Bergamot and the Nutmeg combined which saves this scent from being too sweet and makes it appropriate for both sexes to wear.
I've just had another sniff and it is possible to pick out the rose perfume and what I think is the pineapple. It is difficult for me to isolate different components. I have probably sniffed it too much during the course of writing this review!

My imagination says....
I have often thought that it would be lovely if perfume left a visible trail in the air, like a drifting scarf. If this one did it would be a trail of pale greens and yellows with a little flash of terra cotta and sparkles like hoar frost.
It's my favourite. If you haven't tried it, next time you are in Boot's the Chemist go and have a smell and see what you think.
There's nothing else to say really.
Summary: A classic perfume from Calvin Klein.

- 03/01/09 I used to steal my step-father's Eau Sauvage when I was a teenager. I always told him it was strange that it seemed to evaporate very quickly (my sister would do the same with his booze!) |

- 02/01/09 I totally agree with this, still one of my favourites! x |

- 02/01/09 I used to like this when I was working, a fragrance that didn't upset people. |
