Clarins Body Ressourcante Rebalancing Fragrance
Advantages: helps calm me a little, lasts well, nice enough smell
Disadvantages: not really a fine fragrance, price, plain bottle
Eau Ressourcante Rebalancing Fragrance is part of the Clarins 'treatment' fragrance collection. This body fragrance is said to offer 'serenity, freshness and balance'. Eau Ressourcante is enriched with pure plant extracts and essential oils including iris, basil, benzoin and cedarwood.
Clarins state that this fragrance is 'non-photosensitising' so is suitable for wearing when your skin is exposed to the sun. Other ingredients include sarsaparilla which helps to relax and provides moisture to the skin. Robinia for soothing properties and longan for stimulation. Eau Ressourcante is classed as having a relaxing fragrance.
The Eau Ressourcante fragrance collection also includes a body lotion, shower cream, deodorant and body cream.
As this is marketed as being a treatment product rather than a perfume, the packaging is very simple but inkeeping with the Clarins brand. Eau Ressourcante is presented in a clean looking, round glass bottle with a click on white lid. It is a very basic design but practical. It certainly isn't a bottle I would like to have on display.
~Price and Availability~
Eau Ressourcante is available from all Clarins counters (Debenhams, House of Fraser etc) and online. A 100ml bottle can currently be purchased from www.clarins.co.uk for £29.00. If you would like to purchase the set, it is available at the same price and also comes with a 50ml shower milk and 40ml body cream. Smaller sizes can be bought on eBay for a much cheaper price.
When it comes to buying fragrances, I can't say that I immediately consider the Clarins brand. I fell in love with Par Amour Toujours and they discontinued this gorgeous scent so I've never really liked their fragrance department for doing this! Anyway, over the past few years a few bottles of the Clarins treatment fragrances have graced my perfume collection. Whilst I probably wouldn't go out of my way to purchase the two main fragrances (Eau Dynamisante and Eau Ressourcante) myself, I have been happy to use them when received as part of a GWP (gift with purchase) promotion in 15, 30 or 50ml sizes. I have also used the body cream which was pleasant to use.
I prefer Eau Ressourcante over the Eau Dynamisante fragrance as it is a much nicer scent in my opinion. The spray top releases a fine mist of light liquid onto my skin. A positive aspect of using this product as a fragrance is that once settled on the skin, the mist of liquid leaves my skin feeling quite cool, soft and slightly moisturised due to the ingredients they have used. This is enhanced by using the matching body cream.
Eau Ressourcante isn't an overly special fragrance in my opinion but it is pleasant to use on an occasional basis. The first spray encourages a rather fresh essential oil combination to become noticeable and it is quite pleasant if a little overpowering. As the scent settles into my skin, the essential oils come together to offer a calming wave of scent which is soothing but not in the same way lavender or jasmine soothes. There is a delicate woody undertone to the scent which takes a slight edge of the essential oil aroma. The different oils used are well blended so it is difficult to pick out the individual notes.
I like to use Eau Ressourcante when I am feeling stressed. I mainly use it at home as I find it calms my senses a little and helps clear my mind. I wouldn't normally say this about a perfume but as a treatment fragrance it does have that impact on me personally and I sometimes opt to use it at bedtime to help me relax a little. When I have worn it out and about the scent remains at a pleasant yet subtle strength of scent but doesn't come across as being a stand out fragrance. It lasts for a good few hours on my skin and one bottle lasts well as I don't use it often.
I would recommend purchasing a small bottle to try from eBay. Eau Ressourcante won't be for everyone but I appreciate the calming effect it has on me, I wouldn't pay full price for it though.
Thanks for reading :) x
