I tend to stick to Clinique for most of my skincare needs. Its expensive but I try and get it when they also have a buy 2 get a free gift bag on. Luckily they have such an offer on at the minute (feb 2015) and in my "free" beauty bag I received a 4ml sample of this perfume.
**Prices, range of products and where to get**
Perfume spray 50ml £39 at Debenhams
Happy heart body cream 200ml £27
Happy heart body wash 200ml £22.50
I don't think prices seem to change that much for brands like this boots is the same price as Debenhams and the official Clinique website. The only place I have noticed a difference size of bottle is amazon which has the 30ml and the 100ml.
The bottle design for my "mini" is the same as the big one. Just a clear glass bottle with Clinique happy heart written on it and a pink lid. Quite boring compared to other perfumes
The overall scent is quite floral and citrusy. This has Mandarin orange, water hyacinth and white wood scents through it. It doesn't have that many notes to it but that's something I like. Its a simple perfume
Its a nice perfume , I don't dislike it but I don't love it either.
Staying power is reasonable. After a day at work I would say that the smell still lingers faintly on my wrists. I think this perfume would work for at night as well, just a respray and your good to go.
Overall quite a fresh clean scent -not at all overpowering but still sophisticated enough that it could be worn at night.
I think the simple smell of the perfume goes with the simple design of the bottle. I can think of quite a few people that this would make a nice gift for.
I am in search of a perfect perfume that makes me feel good!
In the past I have attached myself to about 4 wonderful "me" scents that I wore enthusiastically and made me feel brilliant but none of these seem to be available now, I love Clinique and want to have a happy heart so suggested this to my daughter as a Christmas pressie (not realising that she would spend about £36)
I was however thrilled at Christmas when she produced this Eau De Parfum spray
in a nice pale pink spray bottle.
I expected to love it.
I do find with perfume that you need to wear it....then....wear it again...., then start over...., gradually it will grow on you.
Have tried this.
Well, it is a nice floral fragrance with a hint of warmth. No doubt.
Its certainly floral with some depth. Its not though my favourite perfume, I like it, but I don't think I'll ever love it.Maybe I need to wear it more. Will try.
As I was working on this review my eldest daughter happened to walk by."Whats that smell?"
Well its this perfume I'm trying to review .Do you like it?
She was going outside for a fag at the time, but the verdict was positive.
"What do you like about it?"
"Its lovely and fresh,I do like it, I'll borrow it off you"
So OK i think we've summed it up.
It is a quality floral fragrance with some depth. It is nice.
For my personal taste I prefer a perfume that hits me with something special. That is unique, that is somthing unforgettable. But hey, this is nice, its a quality floral, warm perfume to be enjoyed. And appreciated.
A fragrance that captures the "heart" of the floral notes of Clinique Happy, but with a twist.
Clinique is one of the world's largest suppliers of prestige makeup and fragrance products. It was launched by Estee Lauder Companies in August 1968. I have always viewed Clinique as an upmarket product and one that is known to have a very good reputation. It is more expensive than other makeup and skin care ranges but I always hear good things about it and that it actually works so sometimes it is worth paying more for something that produces results.
Clinique Happy is one of my favourite perfumes and I've worn it on and off for a number of years now after I smelt it on a good friend and fell in love with it. Even now, the smell makes me think of my friend and I love being taken back to that memory and time. Knowing how much I like this perfume I decided to try Clinique Happy Heart and its definitely been added to my favourite list.
Clinique Happy Heart is described as, "A deepening of emotions, a wealth of flowers, a hint of warmth." It has Top notes mandarin orange, cassia and cucumber; middle notes of primula, carrot, water hyacinth; and base notes sandalwood and white woods. The perfume to me has a very floral light smell to it, not a heavy thick floral smell but a very crisp, delicate one. I find this perfume is lovely to wear during the day as it really is a mood lifter and always makes me feel quite happy and fresh.
The bottles actually look very similar, a cylindrical bottle which is see through and has Clinique Happy Heart written on the top of it. Clinique Happy has an orange lid but this Clinique Happy Heart has a pinkish hue to it and it's a lovely looking clean, classic bottle. I think the simplicity of it really goes with the fresh clean smell of this perfume and I'm glad the bottle is not fussy or over the top as it would not work in my opinion.
This fragrance was released by Clinique in 2003 so it has been around for a while but for me its a classic that I think will be around for a long time. A 50ml bottle costs £36 and is one I recommend.
Near Christmas a few years ago, I asked Santa for some Clinique Happy, unfortunately, he got a little confused and brought me Clinique Happy Heart version.
The design of the bottle is very similar to that of the Happy except the colour scheme is pink. The bottle is quite tall and made from clear glass, the lid is a polished pink.
According to basenotes.com, the fragrance is as follows:
Top notes: Crisp mountain air accord, mandarin, cucumber
Middle notes: Yellow primrose, wild carrot flower, water hyacinth.
Base notes: blond woods
From reading the above, I would find it quite hard to say what the fragrance is as I have no idea what Crisp Mount Air Accord is and I certainly don't want to smell like a cucumber/carrot! On first spray, the aroma is quite fruity and fresh, which I really like however this does subside after about 10 minutes of spraying and floral hints start to come through.
The only downside to the fragrance is that it isn't very strong so I feel I need to apply quite a bit, for that reason, I would only wear during the day and perhaps not wear for a night out.
Currently, a 50ml bottle costs around £35, the fragrance I received came as part of a gift set which included some body lotion and roller perfume, when Christmas approaches, the gift sets offer quite good value (a similar price to that of the perfume alone), I have also found that these sets often get reduced to half price in the larger department stores. In the same range, you can also purchase body cream which has an RRP of £26 for 200ml bottle and a body wash which has an RRP of approximately £22 for a 200ml bottle.
Overall, although this isn't one of my favourite fragrances, it is ok and doesn't smell unpleasant; therefore I would give 3 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
I love Clinique perfume but tend to find that I feel it's slightly to old for me so any bottles which I have still have quite a large amount left in them but my Happy Heart bottle is signifigantly emptier and for good reason!
------What does it smell like?-----
Fruity and almost citrusy this perfume is soft and fresh and not overpowering. It reminds me of sitting in the garden in summer surrounded by flowers and freshly cut grass eating a fruit salad, without being too flowery or sickly sweet. I always get compliments from wearing this perfume and several of my friends now own it! A prefect scent to ensure you have a happy day!
-----Is it good Value?-----
I got 50ml of this perfume for £29.99 a while ago from boots but I see that amazon is selling it slighly cheaper so it may be worth having a look around before hoppinh in and buying. The perfume is soft but you only need a couple of squirts each time and this will last you all the way through a working day! A good price for a quality perfume with fresh smell that is long lasting!
-----Will it look nice on my dresser?------
This is not the type of perfume you buy for the bottle, it is not particullaly remarkable and does not catch the eye. However, happy heart has a nice smooth glass bottle filled with clear liquid which simply says "clinigue happy heart" at the top with a reddish/pinky metalic lid on the top. Although it is not perhaps the most innovative of bottles it is not offensive or unsighlty and it contains the perfume perfectly. I HATE bottles of perume which pretend to hold more than they do by having false bottoms ect! It won't look amazing on your dresser, but it won't look out of place either, a sleek modern and simple design.
Such a summery fresh smell, how could it not make my heart happy?
CLINIQUE HAPPY HEART
Every time my mum goes abroad she buys my sisters and myself back a bottle of perfume. It's become a bit of a tradition. Plus taking advantage of the duty free's saving a few pennies it seems like a good excuse to spoil yourself. A couple of years ago I had this one. I'd never seen it but, I certainly had a pleasant surprise and yes it did make me "happy".
The products presentation
Not wanting to waffle on describing the box and bottle sure is simple because, I can't. It's simple packaging and plain bottle is easy to use, works, but by no means lacks style or femininity. I think Clinique have gone for the "less is more" approach on this product and I am a fan. After all the proof is in the pudding, not the plate its served on. A pinkish box labeled well with a clear bottle and a pinky, gold cap.
Notes and fragrance
Top notes are mandarin orange, cassia and cucumber
Middle notes are carrot and water hyacinth
Base notes are sandalwood and white woods.
The above information might prove very useful to some, but if I'm perfectly honest it's like reading a car manual to me (makes no sense, there's not much point, and even if I do read it I'm still none the wiser!)so if your like me and prefer a description this is what I think. On the instant spray its quite clean and fruity. Like most perfumes a little alcohol seeps through. It's instant freshness is invigorating and the pleasant aroma gives a good feeling of ready ness. Now when the initial fresh scent subsides, a more warm and flirty scent is apparent I think this is where the floral notes are coming through. I love this, it's light, fresh, clean, with a slightly deeper aroma of warmth (the woody notes). This is why I just can't get enough of this perfume its light, happy smell is fresh and young with a sexy twist. I must say what a perfect name for this perfect perfume "happy heart" its spot on!
When to wear it?
I think this is a good general perfume, perfect for normal everyday activities, work, office, home I'd be happy to wear it on a special occasion i.e. a date night out (not that I know what they are since having two children) but maybe some women would prefer a deeper, heavier, more sensual scent in the evening.
I think a very reasonable £25 for 50 ml is not to much to ask for a scent, it is cheap as far as Clinique perfumes are usually concerned. I have noticed it doesn't last that long or perhaps I loved it a bit too much! I used it every day for about four months.
Like I said in the summary, it won't cure PMS but it will make you smile I recommend Happy Heart perfume to a woman in her 20's up to any young hearted 40 something's. It's a perfect treat. A light clean, and flirty fragrance. 10/10 Clinque 10/10.
I think that when you know the scent that is right for you, you will not want to lose it.
In my younger years I always preferred perfumes which were very sweet and my first love bought me She by Emporio Armani for a present which I wore continuously for five years as it was a scent that I favoured at the time due to its sweetness and what I felt someone had chosen for me because to its suitability however that time in my life came to an end and so did being able to wear that perfume although I still like it I did not feel it was right for me anymore and I wanted to find something that was really me!
Having tried hundreds of samples of many different perfumes I could not find what I was looking for however one day when I went to the Clinique counter to buy my usual face wash and I saw Clinique Happy Heart, I sprayed the scent and I knew that this was the scent that was right for me. The perfume has a sweetness that reminds me of my youth but at the same time a sophistication that I feel over the years I have become. It is a lovely fragrance and one that I cherish and wear every day morning and night. There have been many people who have commented on my scent and some have even said it really suits you! So I urge you to find your scent and if it is this one than it like you will probably have a sweet sophisticated side to you!
The perfume can retail at anywhere between £27.50 - £34 even though you really cannot put a price on a happy heart!
In comparison with most of Clinique's other fragrances i think that this one is a very young scent. The description of it that springs to mind is flowery, fun and flirty! I can smell the rose in this perfume more than any of its other flavours.
It was at a clothes roadshow when i first tried the scent as there were clinique perfume ladies walking about offering a spray on the wrists to people so being a perfume lover i thought i'd give it a try. Now don't get me wrong this is a nice enough perfume but i've got to be honest, it probably wouldn't be my first choice when i next go out to buy a perfume. I just personally think it smells similar to a lot of other fragrances which makes it a bit mediocre. It also doesn't last for long once you've got it on.
It is a lot more affordable than Clinique's other fragrances and you can get a 30ml bottle for around £17. I would reccomend this scent mostly for a younger person to wear on a day time, but don't expect wonders from it.
I actually purchased this perfume for my wedding, purely on it's name, I thought it had to be a good omen!
I have always made sure I have a stock of this perfume in my drawer ever since. It is really lovely, and it always reminds me of that day, and of our honeymoon as I took it there too. I think picking a good perfume is so important as smells hold memories, like if a family member wears a certain fragrance it will always remind you of them.
If you don't like flowery perfumes then this one isn't for you, but if you do then you will adore this perfume.
It smells a bit flowery but most of all it smells fresh. I find that so many perfumes are so overpowering or sickly sweet, but this really is quite subtle but still stays on throughout the day.
I would highly recommend buying this product with the matching body lotion, which is a really great product too and they really make you feel like you smell fresh not like your plastered in some really harsh perfume. The body lotion is also quite light on your skin, and not greasy.
Definitely a must have for anyone who doesn't like too strong perfumes.
Cinique Happy Heart is a perfume that i will always buy or get someone to buy me as a gift because it is so fresh smelling, when you wear it, you smell really clean and fresh - i love it! i used to wear Clinique Happy and love that also but this one is my favourite. Clinique Happy Heart and Clinique Happy are quite similar in fragrance but i'm sure you will love the Heart one. I have been wearing Clinique perfume for years and think i always will. There are a lot of perfumes out there that are awful but i'm sure you will not be disappointed by this fragrance. When i wear it, everyone comments on it 'you smell nice, what's that perfume you are wearing?' You always like to hear someone saying you smell nice don't you? and i guarantee they will when you wear this. It's gorgeous and not too pricey as sometimes you can get a free bonus gift when you buy two clinique products.
Clinique often have offers on where if you buy two or more products you receive a box with free samples of some of their products. I got a small bottle of Clinique happy perfume as part of the deal once and I really liked it. The next time I was at a Clinique department I decided to try some of the Clinique happy heart and really liked it. I later received some as a present.
Clinique products are known for having very simple packaging and this perfume is no exception. The box is a tall rectangle shape in a kind of pinky red colour. Clinique happy is wrote near the top in silver writing and heart is written underneath in the same font but this time in white. At the bottom it says that it is a perfume spray and how much is in the bottle. This is 50ml.
One the back of the box it says the following:
"a wealth of flowers, a hint of warmth, a deepening of emotions. Wear it and have a happy heart."
The bottle is tall glass in a kind of slim oval shape (refer to picture because my description probably does not make much sense lol) The glass is clear and so is the perfume so you are able to see exactly how much you have left which I like. Clinique happy is written near the top and heart is written underneath in red.
I love fancy perfume bottles so for me I found this a little boring really but the quality of the perfume is so good so I dd not mind as much.
As the description on the back of the box suggests, this perfume has a flowery smell but I would describe it as being quite a trendy flowery smell. By this I mean that it is not a traditional fragrance in terms of flowers. It is not old fashioned. It is more of a younger smell but at the same time is not too young or sickly sweet. If you have smelt the original Clinique happy then this is similar but I would describe it as being a bit heavier.
One of the great things about this perfume is that it does last. Every time I wear it it lasts right throughout the day.
As I said earlier I received this perfume as a present so I do not know how much this bottle cost but I looked on the Clinque website and it costs £29.50 for the 50ml bottle, which is the only one they do. I think this is a very good price because the bottle is pretty big and the perfume lasts all day so you will not need to keep re-spraying it.
Clinique happy heart also comes available in body wash and body cream form and if you buy any Clinique product from their website you can choose two free samples from selected products.
Traditionally I have worn Clinique Happy perfume, but whilst on holiday in the USA over the summer I spent some time in the perfume department of a large store trying to find a new fragrance. There were lots of nice smells - but I decided I really like Happy Heart by Clinique. Similar , but subtley different to Happy! I told my husband I needed some new perfume and suggested he might like to buy me some for my birthday.
Surprise surprise, when the big day arrived I was given a lovely gift box containing a 30ml bottle of Happy Heart perfume and a 75ml body cream. (They must have been a good deal!!)
TheIt is hard to describe the smell in writing, as scent can be a very personal thing. Perfumes smell differently on each individual.
The smell of Happy Heart is warm and flowery. The advertising talks about a deepening of emotions (?) I'm not too sure about that but it has a lovely frangrance. I think it has a heavier scent than Happy, which I think is more of a summery perfume.
The glass bottle shape is not unusual, infact it is quite traditional. A slim oval cylinder (if that makes sense!). It has a coppery coloured lid that pulls off. The atomizer is a coppery colour too and sprays easily with a fine spray.
As this perfume was a gift I had to search for the price. The Clinque website have the same gift set I was given for £20. (30ml perfume /75ml body cream) A very reasonable price, especially when a 50ml bottle of Happy Heart is priced at £29.50.
This would make a great Christmas gift.
Clinique Happy Heart / A wealth of flowers / A hint of warmth / A deepening of emotions / A fragrance that captures the heart of the floral notes of Clinique Happy, but with a twist /
