Clinique: Happy For Men, Eau de Cologne

When I think about all of the different fragrances for men that are now available the name Clinique is usually the first thing that springs into my mind. This may have something to do with the fact that Clinique were one of the first companies within the cosmetic and beauty sector to attempt to actively market not just a single product for men but a whole range of different products. I was first introduced to this fine fragrance about a year ago and it has been my cologne of choice ever since. Of course, there are many excellent fragrances for men on the market, but for me, this one just has something a bit different to offer. It comes in a bright orange oval shaped cylindrical bottle with a large silver lid on top. I find the bottle a bit cumbersome to be honest, it's very wide and would look nicer if the bottle was round and more compact. However, this is a minor complaint. I first came across Clinique-happy, when I purchased a Clinique gift set from the duty free shop at cancun airport (Mexico). The set included trial size examples of face and eye moisturiser, and a 30ml bottle of Clinique happy. Needless to say that within 2 weeks I had used up my 30ml and gone on to buy another 50ml bottle. Why did I do this? Well, obviously I was very impressed with the product, and so was my girlfriend. Happy by Clinique came into my collection of aftershaves as a gift earlier in the year. Coming in an orange card box, the bottle (as seen above) looks horrid! Oval in shape, the overall first impression was "eurgh" but the looks were indeed deceiving. On removing the lid I was greeted with a fruity citrus aroma that reminded me more of a bowl of oranges (hence the colour of the bottle I'd say) and upon inspecting the notes, this is marketed as a refreshing masculine scent made from a blend of lemons, mandarins, oranges and grapefruit and is recommended for day wear around the office. Whilst I do look after my appearance, I've never been the biggest fan of mens eu de colognes. Got my hands on this nice bottle as a Christmas present and it having ran out a few days ago, it just dawned on me how I miss it so much! The fragrance is very fresh, full of citrus zingy notes. Think oranges being peeled releasing a nice odour into the air but much nicer. The key to this fragrance is FRESH. I can happily get onto the tube and not have to worry about the other commuters being intoxicated but to also bring a smile to their face and for all to be 'HAPPY!'
