Advantages: Summer fruity fragrance, long lasting and a good price when on offer
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
When it comes to perfume, I like to have one for work, and another for the weekends/going out. Although at Christmas, I tend to ask for new brands, one of my old favourite work perfumes is Happy by Clinique.
The fragrance is described as follows:
Top notes: Orange, Indian mandarin, plum, blood grapefruit, apple and bergamot
Middle notes: Rose of Bulgaria, patchouli, iris, ylang-ylang, vetiver and camomile
Base notes: Mimose, lily, magnolia, amber and musk
From reading this, it does sound like quite a mixed bag of fragrances however to me, I can smell and mixture of fruit with a hint of flowers, the fresh aroma reminds me of summer. The fragrance is quite subtle yet it does seem to last throughout the day. I also get quite a few surprised faces when people ask me what I am wearing - as well as compliments.
The bottle is quite simple in design, it comes in a glass bottle and has a silver lid, at the top of the bottle, it says Clinique Happy. The packaging is a nice warm orange colour, to look at, it isn't as fancy as some other brands on the market but I think it sells due to the brand, the name and the quality.
I have found this available from most department stores, Amazon, Boots and fragrance shops. The fragrance is available in to different sizes, a 50ml bottle which is priced around £35 and a 100ml bottle which is priced around £50. As well as the perfume, you can also buy Happy Body Cream, Body Wash, Shower Gel and Body Smoother. Throughout the year, there doesn't seem to be many offers on the range but at Christmas time, Clinique do gift sets which are quite reasonably priced and offer a decent saving. I tend to stock up in the January sales, last year I got a 50ml bottle, 200ml Body Cream and a Happy Scented small candle for less than £25 (it was half price). When I buy a perfume, I like to buy the matching cream, I find that by applying this, I don't use as much perfume so it lasts longer.
Although £50 may seem a little expensive for a 100ml bottle, I use it every day for work, I also keep it in my handbag incase I feel the need to freshen up and it tends to last me all year.
Overall, I would recommend this product, despite it first being launched in 1997, it in no way smells 'old or dated' the packaging and design of the bottle has stood the test of time and I would give the product 5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
