Advantages: It's different, it's sexy and it smells nice...

Disadvantages: Erm...Urm... it has Calvin Klein on the label so you may (or may not) be put off!

Firstly, this relates to the male version but I was excited and couldn't wait for Dooyoo to add it.

Normally I'm instantly put off by the words "Calvin" and "Klein" if they appear in the same sentence when it comes to fragrances they always seem to smell the same. However, to be fair it isn't really that much of a hassle due to the fact that they tend to wear off in about 30 seconds and produce a rash akin to gangrene!!

However, "Contradiction" by CK is completely different. To coin a phrase "it does exactly what it says on the tin" i.e. Contradict!!!

Now, I have the distinct advantage of being able to pick and choose aftershaves purely on their sassy bottles and their pleasing aromas due to the fact that I have as much facial hair as?erm? well, someone with not very much facial hair. Contradiction satisfies both of these highly rigorous acceptance criteria.

It comes in a cool square bottle and the lid comes down about a centimetre off the bottom adding instant character. This design also helps you to differentiate between the female version that comes in a round bottle. Those amongst you with identity issues would do well to remember this difference.

Now, let's get to the important bit ? how does it fair on the "Pull Test".

Speaking generally, I've noticed that a uniform has begun to develop amongst lads of my age. That is, they all seem to wear black trousers, a Ben Sherman Shirt (that has to be untucked) and a pair of black shoes (shiny or otherwise). To "complement" this uniform they all seem to accessorise this look with a gold earring and Hugo Boss aftershave. Individual style seems to be, by and large, on the decline ? don't get me wrong, I also own a bottle of Hugo Boss, Hugo Blue and Hugo Elements Aqua but each of these have their time and place. When you're making an effort (not for any reason other than you want to) make a statement and Contradiction makes that statement.

Many times I have been stood at the bar when fellow customers have enquired as to which aftershave I am wearing ? leaving me free to nip in front of them whilst the attention is distracted and getting served first? a cunning side effect! It goes without saying that this passes the Pull Test

Over the last few years I?ve made it a hobby of mine to collect fine fragrances and CK?s Contradiction takes a steady place in my collection.
