Advantages: Great price. Stylish packaging. Nice smell

Disadvantages: None.

Le Jardin d'Amour was the first perfume I ever bought for myself. I will be the first to admit that the scent is very '1980's' but hey, apparently all things 80's are back in fashion.

This perfume isn't sold all that widely in England any more, but it can be bought online quite easily, failing that there is always good old Ebay, which is where I sourced some last year.

The fragrance belongs in the floral/oriental category, it is certainly flowery but in quite a 'heavy' and 'sweet' way. I would recommend anyone to give it a try, after all, if you really don't like it, you will only have wasted a few pounds because the price tag is very credit-crunch friendly (for more mature customers) or pocket-money friendly for the younger ones.

The bottle seen in the photo is a new style, I must admit I preferred the older style bottle which I loved and thought it was the height of sophistication when I was a teenager :) with it's black glass and metallic flower print on the lid. This new bottle is still going to look pretty on the bathroom shelf though, still with the black glass going on!

There are matching body sprays and lotions, which is ideal for layering your fragrance.

This perfume has a 'sister' fragrance simply called 'le Jardin' which is a lighter version of this one, in a correspondingly lighter coloured packaging. Perhaps a day and night combination , if you like.

Overall, not my all time favourite, but a still a really nice perfume that you can afford to splash around (and heavily tinged with nostalgia for me!).

Summary: A great smelling blast from the past

I just checked and this perfume was made by Max Factor and not Dana. MF only released two fragrances then stopped making them shortly after.

Never heard of this one, I like Tabu though which is similarly old-fashioned and was created in the 1930's.
