“ Brand: Davidoff / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for men „
I tend to find at airports when I have a long wait for a plane or between changing planes that I inevitably end up in the duty free shop testing out the different aftershaves. Airport duty free is the only place that I tend to buy aftershaves as it is often a good way of using up foreign currency. I've smelt a huge range and find that Davidoff is the only brand I really like. ----The image---- You can't deny that advertising is a big part of the fragrence insustry, whether it is in the form of TV, magazine, billboard or other forms. Davidoff appeals to me because it doesn't feature the metrosexual Calvin klein wierdness or the confusing arty adverts where you aren't even sure what is being advertised until the end of the advert. The advertising for davidoff adventure is inspired by the wilderness and a has a ruggged, adventurous feel to it. This is perhaps shown best by the advert featuring a scruffy ewan mcgregor attempting to associate it with his adventurous motorcyle journeys across the world. ----The scent---- I actually bought a copy of davidof adventure from an egyptican perfume factory last year. It was alcohol free and after getting the adventure copy in a clear unmarked bottle I asked if they had any others. The manufacturer explained to me (and I think I believed him) that the davidoff fragrences all use an almost identical base, so they just copy this as opposed to the varieties such as deep water etc. The base notes include cedar wood, Vetiver and White Musks. Middle notes are black sesame and pimento, and the top notes are Mandarin, Lemon, Bergamot, Maté Leaves, Black Pepper . I have to admit I can;t really identify these myself however I think i can detect the cedarwood. I like the spell and it definitley has a masculine feel to it without being like overpowering grandad type brut (or sex panther if you know the film anchorman). The scent last a good time and I can still smell it at the end of a night out, although it does fade over a few hours. ----The bottle---- Several types of bottle are available in the normal range of sizes and with or without a spay nozzle. I currently have 2 bottles of adventure, both 100ml and one has a spray nossle and the other is open topped so you can pour it out. The spray nozzle is definitley worth getting as it is far easier to apply evenly rather than splashing it all over yourself. I like the simple style of the bottle which is clear glass with a silver (or stainless steel I am guessing) top section. The davidoff branding is neatly emossed on the metal part and printed on the glass. I think this simple style gives the bottle a rugged yet refined look compared to other brands. -----Price---- I have to admit I don;t know what I pay for bottles in duty free as I tend to just see if i have enough euros, central african francs or money from wherever i am travelling to meet the price. An internet search seems to suggest that it is available for between £30 and £40 for 100ml which I think is a reasonable price to pay for a quality product. -----Summary---- Rugged, masculine and 'nice' smelling. My favourite aftershave and highly recommended. I do consider it very masculine and woul imagin that rambo would bathe in it.
**Introduction** Having tried a great many different fragrances over the years I have recently looked for something new as with my previous purchase of Emporio Armani Diamonds. Although having liked Davidoff fragrances I had never owned one of their products, I recommended Davidoff Cool Water to My Mum for a Christmas present for my Brother which went down well. Having saved up a few Boots advantage card points I decided to have a look for a new fragrance in the sales and found a good deal on Davidoff Adventure. I chose the 50ml bottle of the fragrance for £25.50 which was a cut of £8.50 from the rrp of £34 which although not something you'd pay that often it's not as expensive as some other fragrances on the market. **Davidoff Adventure** This fragrance was released in 2008 and was made by the perfumer Antoine Lie. I remember liking it at the time when I tried a bit from a tester in Boots. The fragrance is ideal for various occasions and I like the design of the bottle. It's a smart, simple look which looks nice on the shelf at home. I have had this fragrance for a couple of months now and there's plenty left as I alternate between this and the Emporio Armani Diamonds which I bought not too long after Christmas. Anyway back to the Davidoff and this fragrance is available in 50ml and 100ml sizes and also in a gift set which contains a 50ml bottle along with tubes of the same size of shower gel and after shave balm. **The Fragrance** This is an excellent fragrance which lasts well and has a very nice scent. This is a fresh, spicy & woody fragrance which suits a number of different occasions. It's light enough to wear to work or out during the day and also for nights out. It's a highly recommended fragrance from men's magazines and I understand why, It's a long lasting fragrance which blends well through the various notes. It's a masculine fragrance which I'm sure also appeals to women in terms of their boyfriend or husband wearing it. Here's the rundown of the fragrance from note to note. Top Notes Mandarin, Lemon, Bergamot, Maté Leaves, Black Pepper From the first spray you get the lovely fresh fruity mix of Lemon and Mandarin with the spicier Bergamot and hint of Black Pepper. This is an excellent opening and lasts for a good three hours or so before blending into the middle notes. Middle Notes Black Sesame, Pimento Onto the middle notes and Here we get the progression to the more distinctive notes which have a more Exotic and woody fragrance. This lasts for another three or so hours before blending into the final "base notes". Good progression. Base Notes Cedarwood, Vetiver, White Musks And we end the fragrance with the woody notes which continue the stronger more exotic scent from the middle notes. After 2-3 hours this fragrance will start to fade and a muskier scent will stay. The fragrance sensually lingers with a nice feel. An excellent overall fragrance. **Overall** I would recommend this fragrance to any man who likes a fruity, woody fragrance. This is one of the best Fragrances I have tried from Davidoff and if you like other fragrances from them then I would also recommend checking it out especially as you can get some decent deals on the fragrance. I will probably get this fragrance again sometime as it's one I rather like. I have tried fragrances I like more but this is an excellent scent which obviously appeals to a lot of people. Try it from a tester and see what you think. You may even like it enough to buy one yourself.
wife bought me a bottle of davidoff adventurer as a birthday present , i love the fragrance fruity and musky and not like other sprays where after ten mins you cant smell the aroma .of all the aftershaves i have worn in the past i never had any comments from females now all i hear is ooohhh you smell nice what is that . its davidoff adventure dont forget it so any ladies looking to get their fella a good bottle of aftershave this one should defo be on the list try a tester first then you will see how great it is
This cologne was one of the first scents I have ever smelt on by boyfriend, one that when I smell again, it reminds me of our first kiss. This is a surprisingly sexy and rugged cologne. I'm used to most colognes being citrusy and sickly. A good initial part of attraction to a man, at least in my experiences, is their aftershave. I recall one potential I was interested in was wearing the most horrific smelling cologne, so awful smelling that I felt sick for a good few hours afterwards. The top notes of this are mandarin citruses, bergamot and lemon; the heart notes are green tea and South American black sesame and berries, and the base notes consist of essence of Peruvian cedar, vetiver and light musk. I'm obviously biased, but this is a nice, classy and sexy fragrance - you can take your man to meet your mother while wearing it, or just enjoy it for yourself. I love it, and I hope you do too!
Davidoff Adventure. My girlfriend bought me this frgrance as a christmas present which is a good sign considering she likes it! I am sure people will buy this fragrance purely so that they can associate themselves with Ewan Mcgregor. What you get with this however is a surprisingly pleasant scent. At first I thought this smell would be overpowering but that is just because i had never worn a scent before. The smell is very masculine, with deep and rich odours. Underneath this it smells like a strong fruit in a forest. It is also very enjoyable to wear and you feel comfortable with people coming close to you. You almost want them to so that they can smell you! It is very hard to describe a smell! I would recommend trying before you buy (any large shop that sells fragrances do this) but i believe that this is a very good smell that the ladies will love!
Davidoff: Adventure Cologne, as promoted by Ewan McGregor. If you have seen any of the advertising, you will know that Davidoff have really gone for the rugged, adventurous, devil may care attitude, and aimed this product at the indepent, free spirited type. But hey ho, ultimately that is all just advertising designed to encourage us to hand over our hard earned cash! It's whats in the bottle that actually counts! To that end, upon first smelling the product, your nose is treated to a variety of aromas - rich, woody, smoky, aromatic and spicy. Put together the aroma is distinctive, powerful and masculine. By that I do not mean in the Old Spice, Brut style, but rather this scent gives off an air of independence and sophistication. Once the scent has settled into your skin you are left with a smell that brings to mind mulled wine being enjoyed next to a warm coal fire on a cold winters evening. This is a unique cologne and a refreshing alternative to the many sweet, citrus smelling aftershaves out there on the market.
