This used to be my signature scent in my early twenties. And also my first perfume that I bought for myself! I was just starting to get on my feet financially, and every day during lunchtime I used to walk past this department store that sold Davidoff Cool Water for woman. Every time I thought to myself when I have enough money to spare I am going to buy this. That day finally came and I skipped all the way back to the office with my special purchase. What a beautiful smell!! I felt like a million dollars wearing this. If I remember correctly it used to be the 100ml bottles that I bought. I like the simple but elegant design of the bottle, as well as the blue color, makes me think of the ocean. The fragrance is absolutely wow! It contains watermelon, pineapple, blackcurrant, and Lilly of the valley. It also has a woody masculine undertone. Although I cannot distinguish all the flavors, it comes together beautifully. Somehow it reminds be of the coco-nutty flavor of Pina Colada as well, though I am not sure if it has coconut in it. I have had so may compliments wearing this. Just careful when applying this fragrance, it is quite strong so you only need a little bit. But the scent lasts the whole day long, which is very delightful (I have found that other costly fragrances only last about three hours on your skin). A little bit really goes a long way. I recently discovered an old bottle of mine with a little bit in it, and I have not worn it for about five years. It still smells just the way it used to when I first bought it. Excellent quality. I have since stopped using it as I receive many perfume samples and perfumes as gifts, and find it difficult to stick to one scent. I will definitely wear this fragrance again, it really is one of the best. Ps, you get this product in the sented body lotion too.
I have worn this perfume since my teens. Growing up I was a bit of a tomboy and I preferred a perfume with a slightly masculine edge rather than some of the sweeter, girlier ones. While my tastes have changed somewhat over the years, I always have a bottle of this perfume somewhere. This scent was released in 1996 and was created by Pierre Bourdon, who also created the men's scent Davidoff Cool Water amongst others. The design hasn't changed since my teens. The packaging is a light blue teardrop shaped bottle, designed to remind you off water and the sea. The other packaging is also blue, following on the aquatic theme. The top notes of this fragrance are Citrus, Honeydew Melon, Quince, Pineapple, Lotus and Lily. Heart notes are gentle flowers; May Rose, Jasmine and Muguet. Base notes are Musk, Vanilla, Peach, Sandalwood, Orris and Vetiver. This perfume just smells of the sea to me, and it seems a quite calming scent. It's not a very sweet perfume, and has a slight masculine edge without being too manly. None of the scents are overpowering, they just seem to work together. It also lasts, I can still smell it a few hours after application and it is a nice scent for daytime, but also deep enough for evening use. As I've worn it since my teens, a spritz can transport me back to my teenage years. I'm guessing that with all the new perfumes out there, this one has become slightly dated, but I will continue to have some at home for a pick me up fragrance. This is available in most chemists and prices vary. For comparison, the following websites have it at these prices: Boots £22.72 for 50ml Perfume Shop £27.50 for 30ml Amazon.co.uk £26.99 for 100ml
Davidoff cool water has been around for a while now, if you have not yet smelt it I would certainly recommend you do, especially if your not keen on the super feminine floral/fruity scents that are so common nowadays. It's perfect for people who like sports as it's so fresh it instantly make you feel refreshed with honeydew melon and pineapple, lotus and Lilly etc. The bottle is also simple but pretty, a gorgeous blue glass that reflects light well and reminds you of a drop of water, a little bit like spring rain. With lemon, melon and pineapple you would think this would be a a summer beach smell which to a certain extent it is, however this is also perfect for spring rain when the beautiful outdoor smells are just emerging. My boyfriend wears really fresh fragrances like Only the Brave, CK In2U etc and I LOVE the super fresh and squeaky clean aroma. Cool Water women gives a very similar effect, it has the male aftershave smell, but it's softer and a bit more delicate so it wont leave you smelling like your partner but a sweeter female version. If you don't want people asking if you have borrowed your mans aftershave this may not be for you, however for people who want a cheap fragrance for after they exercise that will leave them feeling refreshed, you may want to try it. It's also great for younger crowds and teenagers who like pretty scents.
After smelling this perfume on a colleague at work I decided I'd love to try it, and the message must have got passed on as I received a bottle for Christmas, much to my delight. Having looked into the fragrance, I didn't realise that it was first released in 1996, and I'm quite surprised it took me so long to discover it. The perfume comes in a blue glass bottle. It has a rounded oval bottom which comes up to a thinner neck, with a spray cap on top. It s very sleek and the aesthetics match the idea of the perfume very well. One of the good points to this packaging is that the bottle is clear enough for you to see exactly how much perfume is left inside, which is very handy, as there's nothing more frustrating than not knowing how much is left. The scent of this perfume is very fresh, and almost aquatic. I also get a fruity note which I really love. Having read into the specifics of it, there is also notes of lily of the valley and sandalwood, which I can now see. I can also pick up a hint of jasmine. They all blend together extremely well to give a fresh, yet still sensual and sophisticated perfume. I tend to use this scent as an all-rounder. I quite often where it during the day, but the scent is sensual enough to be worn when going out or in the evening. I find that a squirt on each wrist and my neck is enough to keep the scent going for a few hours, and find that I can still smell it myself at the end of the day. This is satisfying to know, as many perfumes I have worn seem to disappear very quickly and not 'stick' well to my skin. If I were to pick an ideal time and place for this perfume it would be for warm summery day wear. An ideal holiday scent, and great for light packing as it can double up as a daytime and night perfume. Once my bottle runs out will definitely be buying another. Mine is still going strong from Christmas and has lasted much longer than I had expected, using it two or three times a week I would expect a 30ml bottle to last at least 6 months. Current prices from The Perfume Shop: 30ml: £25.50 50ml: £33.50 100ml: £45.50 30ml gift set (inc. shower gel): £14.99 The sheer difference in price makes it more economical to buy the 30ml gift set if you plan to use the shower gel too. You may also find a cheaper price if you shop around, or during sales and offers. I love this perfume, and it's my favourite all rounder at the minute. I'd definitely recommend trying it if you like fresh and fruity scents. I'm going to give it 4 stars, it loses one for the price tag which is on the high side!
This fragrance was given to me as a late birthday gift a while back from my relatives who have all successful jobs, so I was not sure what to expect from this fragrance. I also noticed that one of my high school teachers having hold of this fragrance too so I ws willing to give it a chance. -Image- The image is a pear shape ocean like blue bottle with a rectangle dent style on the neck. The lid is circular and has two silver rings around it but when the lid is on it looks like three rings and very nauctial sytle. -How it smells- When this product was sprayed inside the lid it gave a very light sea salt smell. However, when I spritzed it onto my arm, it released a strong musty ocean scent that you can smell in the air on the beach. The frgrance did, however, lasted for around 3 hours so you only need to keep it spritzing every couple of hours and I find it more suitable for late afternoon or evening time to wear this fragrance. -Where to buy- At the present moment, you can find this fragrance at both Boots and Superdrug. At Boots, it costs £34.00 for 50ml an £46.00 for 100ml, and at Superdrug it costs £24.99 for 30ml. At Boots you recieve 4 points per £1 you spend and at Superdrug you recieve ! point per £1 you spend with their own loyalty cards. This product was made in France.
Cool Water, by Davidoff, is available for both men and women. This is a review of Davidoff Cool Water EDT Perfume Spray for women. The perfume comes in a shiny blue box. The bottle is also blue, and is meant to be 'elegantly designed to reflect a droplet of water'. It has a press on blue lid and the spray is easy to apply. The blurb I have found on a website states that it is 'A fresh, aquatic fragrance with energising notes of citrus, waterlily and jasmine'. It also has notes of watermelon and sandalwood. It is advertised as a clean, fresh scent perfect for the summertime. I think the only one I can recognize is citrus. As a teenager, this was one of my favourite perfumes. Whenever we went on holiday I would buy a bottle at duty free and apply liberally every day. Now, I cannot stand it! I find the smell far too strong and overpowering. To me it is an unfeminine perfume. I try to avoid people wearing it as the smell gives me a headache. It is long lasting which is a plus for those of you who like it but not for those who try to avoid. I also think it is a perfume which lingers, long after its wearer has left the room. Despite my hatred of the smell, it does seem to be a very popular perfume and has been around for many years. Davidoff Cool Water EDT Perfume Spray for women is available from Boots. It is usually £34 for 50ml but is currently on offer for £22.66. Only one star from me - I couldn't recommend it to anyone as I really don't like it! Thanks for reading.
My perfume collection is huge and with Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Birthday and Wedding Anniversary it just keeps getting bigger! So it was no surprise when I received a 30ml bottle of Davidoff Coolwater for Women on Mother's Day. I have always been curious about this perfume but for one reason or another I have just never got around to buying it so I was thrilled when I got a bottle. I really like the simplicity of the bottle. It actually reminds me of a glass bottle of water. It is light blue in colour and looks like the bluest blue of an ocean and it is a transparent blue so you can see how much perfume you have left! It has Davidoff and Cool Water on the front of the bottle in a curly script. It has a transparent blue lid to cover the metallic blue squirter. The whole packaging ties in with the idea of water. The perfume is made up of notes of blackcurrent, pineapple, quince, honeydew watermelon, lotus blossom and water lily. All the notes give off the impression of a tropical island in the middle of nowhere surrounded by ocean and when you spray the perume you are really left with that impression. Once sprayed the perfume settles into a light breezy scent made up of pineapple and honeydew watermelon in particular. I can also smell the gentleness of the water lily. It is a lovely cool scent and it is very refreshing. It is absolutely beautiful at the moment with the weather picking up as it makes me think of summer. It is such a free, airy scent. It really is lovely. The perfume is also long lasting. I wore it for 8 hours straight - trekking about the Zoo with my daughter's school and the perfume did not budge until I got into the bath. Really brilliant in terms of lasting. It is definately up there competing with some of the more expensive perfumes in terms of longevity. It is more of an everyday perfume than one you would wear on a posh night. The perfume costs between £19 and £25 for a 30ml and 50ml bottle respectively. It is definately value for money and a perfume that will be in my collection for a long time to come! A lovely perfume with no faults at all!
One of my first choices of perfume: Davidoff Cool Water Woman eau de toilette spray is an light floral fragrance with the freshness of a Spring Day! I first bought this fragrance when it was on offer for £14 for a 50ml which I know is an absolute bargain, normally retailing at about £20-25 for a 50ml bottle. This fragrance is definitely the freshest smelling one I own. I always go straight back to boots to purchase a new one when I have run out. I feel a sense of freshness all day whenever I where this fragrance. I know this is a very popular fragrance and people often know what perfume I am wearing. I think it is an absolute steal for the price and smells absolutely gorgeous. Definitely my idea of a great day fragrance. DISADVANTAGES I do find I need to reapply this fragrance in the evening as the smell has sometimes faded quite considerably by the end of the day. With the price as low as it is this is not something that has ever put me off. A perfect fragrance for daily use - helping you feel fresh throughout the day!
I received Davidoff Cool Water as a birthday present from my boyfriend. I'd never heard of the perfume prior to this. I was amazed that my boyfriend could actually choose such a nice perfume to be honest, he later explained to me that he went into the perfume shop and told them the other scents I like to wear including Lacoste Pink, Calvin Klein Eurphoria and Anna Sui and the shop assistant told him to try this one, how right she was! I am now on my third bottle and it has only been one year! I have been complimented on the scent by many people in work and out shopping, my sister loved it that much she asked for it for Christmas this year! The smell reminds me of being away on holiday in the Caribbean, it is a fresh light scent. Even the bottle if turned upside down is shaped like a water drop. It reminds me of the clear, calm, blue Caribbean seas. This perfume is particularly special to me because it was a special present off my boyfriend, he lives away at university and I receive a text off him every time he smells the same perfume on a girl passing by as it reminds him of me :).
Product: Davidoff Cool Water Woman Eau De Toilette Spray Size: 50ml Cost: £22.99 From: Boots My boyfriend bought me Davidoff Cool Water Woman Eau De Toilette Spray a few months ago. I'd tested the perfume before and always had a little squirt of friends Cool Water but for some reason I never purchased the perfume myself. Cool water comes in a water drop shaped deep sea blue coloured translucent glass bottle, this of course accentuates it's water theme. The bottle as a pull top lid which then reveals a small dispenser to release the perfume which easily dispenses. It's a simple yet elegant design which will look fabulous on any ladies dressing table. Looking at the perfume inside the bottle it almost looks as though it's ocean water itself, very captivating and mesmorising. The outer packaging of the perfume comes in a glossy lighter blue cardboard box with the Davidoff logo at the front of the box. Cool water is available in various sizes: 7.5ml (Handbag Size) 15ml 30ml 50ml 100ml It is classified as a flowery frangrance with hints of citrus, pineapple and woody notes blended with the scent of ocean wear. I would describe Cool Water as having a fresh smell, the three words in which I would use to describe it would be; clean, refreshing and invigorating. For me personally it is a feminine smell which always makes me feel quite girly whilst wearing it. The plus point for me is once applying cool water I find the scent lingers which makes the perfume last on my skin throughout the day, the scent hasn't got too strong of a smell so I was pleasantly surprised at how long it lasted. Davidoff Cool Water is a classic perfume which as been around for many, many years and what I see to be a popular perfume. Cool water also comes in a male fragrance too which as a much stronger scent of smell. It's definitely a perfume which I will purchase time and time again, it can easily be worn for both day and evening wear. Cool water is reasonably priced, affordable, smells great and as great staying power, beautiful. I've had many comments from people complimenting the perfume once smelt on me, that in itself speaks volumes ;). Rating: 5/5 *** May also be posted on Ciao ***
I usually stick with two main fragrances, but there is a few others I wear on an occasional basis. One of these such fragrances is Davidoff - Cool Water for Women. I was first introduced to Cool Water when a friend of my Mothers bought me a bottle one christmas. Cool Water comes in a water drop shaped perfume bottle, that is made from glass. The glass is quite thick, and the bottle is a nice blue colour. The kind of blue you would expect to see from a beautiful, clear ocean somewhere in the meditarreanen. The bottle has a pull off cap which reveals the spray nozzle. I have never had a problem with the spray nozzle on this bottle, it is easy to push and dispenses a perfect amount of perfume per spray. I find that a spray on each side of my neck and one on each wrist is plenty enough to get a great amount of scent that will last almost all day. I find that Cool Water has a nice, sweet and slightly floral scent to it, but has some heavy undertones which take away the edge of it being too sickly sweet and girly. It has a clean and glamourous scent to it, which I find picks me up when I am in a bit of a dark mood. The top notes in Cool Water are: Melon, Blackcurrant and Pineapple. The middle notes are: Jasmine, Hawthorn, Water lilly and Lilly of the Valley. The base notes are: Peach, Sandalwood and Blackberry. I think that these all blend to a perfect scent, with wonderful tones and a great freshness to it. These notes all work well together and complement each other nicely. I have found Cool Water to be one of the longest lasting perfumes I have worn. Usually I can spray this is in the morning, and still have a good amount of scent going on in the late afternoon. I have known perfumes to last much longer, but I have also known them to last a lot less time too, so this is definatley not a bad one in the longevity catagory. This has never caused me any skin problems, and I have quite sensitive skin which can flare up into a rash for any random reason. I think most people with skin complaints should be ok wearing Cool Water. This is quite a popular perfume, and has been available since 1997. You can buy it in most places that sell perfumes, including Boots, Superdrug, The Perfume Store and House of Fraser. It also availabe in many places online and it is worth taking a look around at prices to see where you can get the best deal as the price for Cool Water does seem to vary greatly depending on where you shop for it. A 100ml bottle of Cool Water will cost you around £44.00, and if you go to Boots at the moment (19/12/10) you can get the 50ml bottle for £22.99, which would usually cost you £32.00 a bottle. Cool Water is also available as a gift set, which includes body wash and body lotion, which is a great way to make your scent last all day, and a little bit into the evening as well. I 100% recommend Cool Water as I love the scent of it and I can find nothing wrong with it what so ever, even the price is brilliant. 5 out of 5 stars from me. *This review is also on Ciao under the username of Hailee*
Davidoff's cool water is another one of those scents that I received as a gift quite a few years ago but one which I would always be happy to receive again. It is not one that I own at present but I have had many bottles of this fragrance over the years. Davidoff's cool water comes in a blue bottle which is thicker at the bottom than at the top. The blue colour of the glass to me reminds me of the sea, only not a sea that we have in this country but one of those gorgeous clear blue seas that they have in tropical places! I would imagine that this is the aim of the bottle considering the name is cool water. This particular fragrance very much reminds me of summer times with its fresh and aquatic scent. This is not to say that you cannot wear this scent throughout the year because of course you can, and this is something that I have done. However, the scent just reminds me of sunshine which is by no means a bad thing at all. I think that this fragrance is also quite energising because of this fact. The notes in the fragrance are as follows: Heart: Lily of the valley Top: Watermelon Base: Sandalwood What is particularly good about this scent in my opinion is that is lasts well. It is one of those fragrances where you can smell it when you walk into a room if someone is wearing it and personally I like that from a fragrance as if I am spending a considerable amount of money on a fragrance I want people to be able to smell it! The spray on the bottle is also quite powerful and so just a couple of sprays to the wrists, neck and cleavage area is plenty in my experience. The price of the Davidoff cool water for women does seem to vary depending on where you buy it from but I note you can buy a gift set for around £25.00 which would make an excellent Christmas gift for someone. This is a popular fragrance and you will be able to pick it up in all good stores such as Boots, Debenhams and such like. I would recommend this fragrance as I think it is a lovely perfume which is fresh smelling and makes me think of beaches and the sea....now I just need to actually get to one of those places! Thank you for reading my review!
Davidoff Cool water has been around for a very long time. This was one of my first perfumes and it must be doing something right that it is still around to this day. Not only is the smell exactly the same from over 12 years ago, but the bottle is unchanged. I recently bought this for my mother, I was surprised that Coolwater was one of her favourite fragnances and her previous bottle had just finished. It was fairly easy and reasonably priced to obtain a 50ml bottle for £25. I was wondering why such an old fragrance is still doing so well? Whether it is targeting the people that do not like change? Or is this really an exceptional product that is doing so well after all these years? One thing that is certain I have smelt a lot of different fragrances/perfumes and there does not seem to be a perfume out there similar to the scent of Coolwater for women. Coolwater has a fresh smell, a short of fresh out of the shower smell. I associate the smell to cleaness, so I guess that is a positive. It does not have a particularly sweet smell or fruityness to it. It just smells fresh and cool, hence why it's called Coolwater perhaps. The smell also is distinctive and it lasts, it normally lingers on for a long amount of time. I can smell it from my clothes the next day if I don't put them in the wash. I personally will not buy this perfume for myself, I bought it for my mother as she requested it but I personally feel it is very outdated. I am the sort of person that likes change and I change my perfume brands quite often and Coolwater just reminds me of my past and I am happy to move on. I also do not think it's the best fragrance around, I prefer a more sweeter scenting perfume and I feel Coolwater smells a bit like the male aftershaves as they too give the fresh out of the shower smell. One other reason I am not very fond of this is that it is too strong smelling for me, I prefer more subtle scents and not to smell out the entire room with my presence. Appearance wise it is a blue glass bottle, quite standard looking. It comes in various sizes:, 7.5ml (perhaps sample or handbag size), 15ml, 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. I have not seen a larger bottle than 100ml around and I would strongly advise against the larger bottles as with a lot of perfumes as they get old the smell does sometimes change. There is no doubt that Davidoff has done well with Coolwater and there will always be a market out there for people who like this type of scent. Also like I said before people like my mother who do not like change and stick with the scents they like for many years. I however prefer the more feminine sweet smelling perfumes so this is not for me.
This perfume has been around for what seems forever, I can remember people wearing it back in my late teens. Even if you have never worn it yourself, I still think it is a perfume most people will be familiar with. I think a lot of people consider it a 'safe' option when purchasing perfume as a gift as it has long lasting popularity and can be picked up at a reasonable price, a 30ml bottle can be bought for as little as £15 from some retailers. It is also available as part of a gift set. I, myself have been the recipient of such a gift. This product claims to be perfect for every occasion with its summer and aqua tomes. The perfume itself comes in a crystal blue bottle to accentuate its water theme. I was rather surprised at the number of ingredients used in this perfume. The top note consists of citrus, honeydew melon, quince, pineapple, lotus and lily. The heart is made up of may rose, jasmine and muget whilst the base is complied from musk, vanilla, peach, sandal wood, orris and vetiver. Looking at the overall rating of this product I must be included in a small minority who really dislike this perfume. Whilst I commend this product on its longevity, for me this is where the positives stop. Although I am unable to be certain I am quite sure it is the use of jasmine which makes this product too overpowering for me. I say this because I have other perfumes which share similar ingredients which I really like. I found wearing this perfume induced a headache- I have worn it several times to prove it was the perfume and not just a coincidence. I also find the strength of this perfume makes it appear masculine, I much prefer sweet feminine perfumes. This perfume has a very distinct smell and I think if you smell it once it is easily recognisable when you smell it on others . If I am completely honest I find this perfume chavvy. I am the kind of person who likes to be complimented and asked what I am wearing, but this perfume lacks such a wow factor.
For my birthday, two year's ago, my boyfriend bought me a bottle of Davidoff: Cool Water Woman, Eau de Toilette. We had only been together for six months at this point, so he wasn't sure what to buy me, and although I was pleased, I must admit, I was transported back to 1998 when my school friend Nicole was showing off her new perfume in the playground, because back then, Davidoff: Cool Water Woman, Eau de Toilette was the perfume to be wearing. Considering this isn't a new perfume (it's around 14 years old - it was created in 1996), it's still quite pricey and you can expect to pay around £17.50 for a 30ml bottle and £25.00 for a 50ml bottle. You will find this perfume in Boots, Asda, perfume specialist stores and on-line. The bottle is quite easy to spot - it's an electric, translucent blue colour, the bottle is quite long and it has a removable top that protects the spray mechanism. The perfume itself is very fresh and aquatic. The top notes within this perfume are citrus, pineapple, blackcurrant, honeydew melon, lotus blossom and water lily. The middle notes are may rose, jasmine and muguet; and the base notes are orris, vetiver, sandalwood, peach and mulberry. I think this is more of a day scent than an evening fragrance, because it's very fresh and crisp. I also think that the scent isn't particularly feminine - it reminds me of CK One and other unisex fragrances. This perfume lasts on your skin for around four hours, so you might need to reapply half way through the day. Overall I'd say this perfume is okay. I quite like the scent, but for my it's quite dated, so I won't be going out of my way to buy another bottle. Three stars.
