This has got to be one of the most popular men's fragrances on the market today. I am writing this as a lady who purchased this particular fragrance for her significant other. The product is available in 40ml, 75ml, 125ml and 200ml bottles. The bottle itself is a clear dark blue with a black cap which you pull off to get to the spritzer. Its a very simple design and the only thing wrote on the front is 'Davidoff cool water. Eau de toilette'. Prices vary from £18 for a 40ml bottle, up to £50 for a 200ml bottle. It is available in all places that sell men's fragrances. I've never seen it not included in a display cabinet of any perfume shop. According to the advertising, the smells included in Cool Water are mint, coriander, geranium, cedar, oak moss and musk. It definitely smells musky and you can see why they chose the name Cool Water because it reminds me of the way the ocean smells fresh. It is not too overpowering a scent if you use 2 or 3 sprays of it. It is suitable for day or night use and on average lasts for 4 or 5 hours. Even when sprayed on clothes, the scent tends to evaporate over this time. My partner wears this atleast 5 times a week and gets through around two 125ml bottles per year. He uses 7/8 sprays of it on average per wear so bottles do last a long time. Overall, this is a common scent which alot of men have as part of their fragrance collection (both my partner and Dad own it). It is an easy scent to wear and would suit most people. This makes it the ideal scent if you are looking to give it as a gift to someone.
I've been using Cool Water ever since I was bought it as a gift, some time around the time I became old enough to go out drinking on a weekend. Cool Water is a good metaphor for the scent contained within the bottle, refreshing (but masculine, it's not too effeminately perfumey) with a nice hint of citrus that lingers. There are a lot of aftershaves that I find smell strongly, overbearingly like alcohol, but Cool Water gives an idea of the 'cool water' effect its moniker implies. The simple blue bottle design adds to the refreshing effect. I might as well admit it and say that the only reason men of my age (of any age?) wear aftershave is in order to impress women. I have had compliments before using Cool Water and I've read that good aftershave is appealing to women and a good way of attracting them. If that's what you're looking for, this is a good aftershave to use - just don't use too much to the point where it becomes overpowering, as that can be very offputting. Go easy on the application of it, not that the bottle will run out very quickly - I've found Cool Water lasts for ages. Thus ends me speaking on the desperation of men trying to pull. I'm not a huge aftershave connoisseur, but I don't feel the need to shop around or use anything else now when I go on a night out (other than Davidoff Cool Summer, which smells equally nice and refreshing). I've heard the £15 asking price is very good for an aftershave - it's cheapness is probably because Cool Water is so ubiquitous, you'll have a lot of competition if you're using this stuff to hit on women - and I would certainly recommend it.
I own over 20 different aftershaves and EDT's. I have strange obsession with buying new ones and collecting the bottles on the side of my desk! I spotted this in boots and it was only 14.99! I had seen an advert on tele and thought it was worth a try at such a cheap price! It looks really nice and comes I'm a good looking blue bottle! I tried the sampler Instore and thought it smelt really nice and fresh, so I bought a bottle and took it home! This is definitely one of the sweetest and freshest I own! It's a summer fragrance and smells great. It's completely different to any of my other aftershaves. It's really well designed and for the price it's perfect. Because the aftershave is very strong, you only need to spray a very small amount onto your body. In my experience it will overpowering if you put too much on. Too much doesn't smell very nice. A little bit will get you compliments. I have never purchased a davidoff product before so I have nothing to compare it too with previous experiences. Although I do like this, its not one of all time favourites! I would recommend this to anyone though. It's very cheap and usually aftershaves that are cheap are tacky and smell disgusting. This isn't and is probably the nicest smelling aftershave in its price bracket. Overall I am really pleased with my purchase! Thanks for reading :)
I am writing as a girl who bought this product for my boyfriend for Christmas. Girls or lads, if you are wandering what to buy a friend or boyfriend then look no further. Obviously everyone's fragrance preference is different but most people i know who have either used or bought this as a gift have really liked it. My boyfriend was in love with Cool Water and now buys it whenever his runs out. I especially love the smell because it is not musty or too sweet it is perfect and reminds me of that beach/surfer-esque smell. Besides the advert being very appealing i was intrigued by the fact the fragrance was long-lasting. A friend of mine was wearing this on a night out and it smelt so good plus me and our friends could smell it at the end of the night. I think that's important in a fragrance - when it is long lasting which is definitely relevant to Cool Water. I doubt anyone will be disappointed with this as a gift or for themselves and i say lads definitely try this out. I will say to girls: this is a great gift that is cost effective and it will last about a year if used frequently. Lads: try this out as if you like it won't regret it and you may find yourself a new scent Would recommend - great value for money
This is one of the most popular fragrances on the market and I am sure most people who have a collection of five or more Eau de Toilette's have this in there somewhere, and I definitely have it in mine, but it doesn't necessarily mean I am the biggest fan of it. In terms of the bottle it is pretty plain which is always good to see, these days you always get unique designs, like with the Diesel Fuel for life having a protective cover, or Le Male and its body sculpted bottle. Here you just have a plain blue bottle so no complaints here, but I didn't but this for the bottle. In terms of the price we are looking at around £26 for a 75ml bottle from the fragrance shop and around the £33 mark for a 100ml bottle. However I would recommend looking out for the Cool water gift sets, where you can generally find a 75ml bottle plus a shower gel for like around £20-25, so less than a 75ml bottle itself. This is usually available around Christmas, and can be found in the perfume shop and Boots, but just keep your eye out for a bargain. Bare in mind with most fragrances you can always find it cheaper online and on EBay but just beware for fakes. I am not saying they are all fakes, but be careful and do your research first. In terms of the smell this is a very aquatic fragrance. The main notes are lavender, jasmine, oak moss, musk and sandalwood. I am not sure what the combination of these should smell like, but from my nose it is a very fresh smelling fragrance. That is the best way to explain it. It complements a clean shaven look and I feel it is very youthful. This reminds me of the blue seduction fragrance from Antonio Banderas and is very pleasant. However I prefer the more adventurous fragrances like Le Male with a few random ingredients in them, so I cant say that Cool Water is one of my favourites. As I said above it isn't one of my favourites, however in terms of going to work and day time use, this is in the three or four fragrances that I rotate. The spray nozzle provides a good spread which means two to three sprays is going enough, and the projection is of my liking as I hate fragrances where people can smell you from down the road. In terms of longevity your looking at several hours, I have heard people say this lasts all day, but not on me. Bare in mind fragrances can very from skin to skin, so just cause it doesn't last all day on me doesn't mean it won't last all day on you. Overall having had this Eau De Toilette for a number of months I can comfortably say that it is a good fragrance, but not spectacular. I can't honestly say if I will be purchasing another bottle when my current one runs out, and it will depend on if I discover any new day scents. I definitely would not wear this on a night out as it is far too plain; you want something with a bit more panache. Considering you don't need to many sprays this can easily last many months so I will give this three stars overall.
My boyfriend wears this and i love it. I actually pointed it out to him because i've always loved the smell of it. It reminds me of summer but it doesn't have warm scents its just so fresh and bright. Another good point is that it lasts for a good amount of time, usually if im with my man for a whole day he's still smelling fresh and lovely at the end. It's also quite a unique fragrance too, i find most mens eau de toilette to be over powering and stings my nostrils sometimes but davidoff cool water is a subtle and sexy scent that is consistent through out the day and night. I have heard that some markets and cheap and nasty stores have been selling fake bottles of this so i would always buy from well known stores and normally if it seems so cheap that its too good to be true its probably a fake.
Cool water is somehow a fragrance that is very true to the name on the bottle. One or two sprays on my top half will keep the crisp aquatic scent with me throughout the day. I have a handful of fragrances from different brands, but none quite strike the right tone as this does. When Cool Water tickles my airways, I'm reminded of the alluring aroma of rich wooden furniture, stapled to a backbone of just-detectable menthol, combined with a fresh hydrated texture in the air as if standing in a place of thrashing spring water. Smells are interpreted slightly differently, but I'd say my description is an accurate depiction of how all the ingredients blend to strike a typically masculine and pleasurable cocktail. I purchased a 125ml bottle almost a year ago, and about half of it is still with me. As I've already asserted, it's my preferred choice and I don't feel the need to use more than 1 or 2 sprays. This satisfies my aim that I can be fully confident in close quarters yet steer well clear of being a giant walking pot-pourri. The tasteful usage of a genuinely appealing product - that's what fragrances are all about. My alternatives on the shelf (and that's where they'll stay for as long as I've got my Cool Water') are somewhat gaudy and stiff, and the word 'perfume' comes to mind rather than 'scent', and that's a problem I don't have with Davidoff's product. Despite my own conservative daily amount, I don't see how you can really 'overdo' it with Cool Water - it doesn't reek of pure alcohol or chemicals, it carries itself only with a detectable presence rather than brute force. Although not pivotal to the item's function, a good spray nozzle can make the difference between your expensive fragrance landing on you, or disappearing in a thousand undesirable directions as well as onto the tip of your spraying finger. No such problems with the beautifully mesmerising glass container, a sensibly sized push-nozzle dishes the mist well clear of your fingertips and powerfully so - rather than a mickey-mouse splurge of droplets. The bottle itself is clearly styled on the deep blue haze of deep seawater. In a shaded place the glass is almost opaque, thick and far away from delicate. Yet when the light catches it you can be rewarded with a sky blue crystalline appearance, which is pleasing to the eye and a worthy ornament on your shelf. One final word, as I'm sure you already have seen that a minority of people have ordered Cool Water from some outskirt sellers from some online marketplaces and have been found to receive counterfeit goods which are not genuine, and therefore smell rubbish. Whilst I'm only passing on my own observations, it's best to buy from a proper establishment if purchasing this product, and any expensive perfumes for that matter. I bought mine from the Perfume Shop and everything was as expected.
Davidoff cool water has one of the greatest smells to any eau de toilette I have ever found. I'm a bit of an addict to eau de toilettes, however before buying cool water you MUST check the smell. I have bought one from Boots to have it smell of alcohol and water. Needless to say I returned it. This also happened when I bought one from Superdrug. I read that a large amount of the imports are a bit dodgy, so therefore I might not have been the only one that has faced this issue, however when your paying so much it can really be quite worrying. especially as these products are normally bought as presents so therefore it is harder to return, especially as people might not know what it is meant to smell like. However if you do get the right one, it will smell absolutely amazing!! check before you buy!
I have had this aftershave for a while and it has almost all been used up, as it's quite a favourite of mine. I wouldn't say it's the best out there or smells the most quality one by any distance, but it's pretty unique, fresh and rather long-lasting. I only had a small 75ml bottle, which is probably why it didn't last too long. You can also get a larger 100ml bottle, with the same design. Online, these will cost you around £22 or £26 respectively, which isn't bad at all. The bottle comes in a rather professional looking box with a blue shiny appearance. The Davidoff logo is towards the top in an old-fashioned fancy writing style. This is an eau de toilette, meaning it's made specially to last well on the strong and is of better quality than what would be titled as an 'aftershave'. Inside, the glass bottle easily slides out. I don't think the aftershave itself is coloured but the bottle has a blue tinge to it and is translucent. This certainly mimics the name - 'cool water'. It appears like sea water and this, along with the name, gives the whole product a very fresh and attractive feel. The writing on the bottle matches the box and is in a silver font, which adds a touch of class to the appearance. There is a black lid, which simply is pulled off to reveal the silver spray button. This works pretty well and the bottle design seems to mean it works well right up until the last few millilitres of aftershave remaining. As for the smell, it is a very fresh one. It's quite light compared to most aftershaves, but saying that it is quite rich in the way it lasts long on the skin. I'd still give this one a good few sprays and perhaps one on the wrist as I always like to rub it in there! To give you some idea of the fragrance, it contains musk, peppermint and lavender essences - nothing overly fancy but it has a very fresh masculine smell to it. Overall I'd recommend giving this one a go. It might just appeal to you and I feel it goes really well on an evening out in the summer months so it'd be ideal to purchase this one now! It seems to add a touch of freshness and lightness to any atmosphere and it's a reasonably good quality aftershave with good staying power and an attractive fragrance with a sense of quality to it as well - all at a pretty good price! Thanks for reading
As with other reviewers I have been using Davidoff Coolwater since it gushed onto the scene sometime in the 90's. I first sampled the scent thanks to one of those smelly pages in the posher magazines. I immediately loved the fresh, zingy type aroma. The image linking to the ocean was very apt indeed. Reading around some of the other reviews I can see that perhaps we have a split in the opinions as to whether it's a 'nice' fragrance. However subjects such as these are utterly (errrr) subjective and as such it's obvious that not everyone will like it. That said, I have never had anyone saying anything other than compliments when I'm wearing it. During my University years I knew it as a firm favourite with the females. While that might sound a little on the shallow side, let's face it, that's what the University attending gentleman wants from his aftershave. It's a distinctly masculine and fresh smelling aftershave, one that you will recognise if someone else is wearing it nearby. I'm not one of these people who religiously get the same aftershave time after time, I like to experiment. So it's important to note that this appears without fail, on my Christmas present list each year.
I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. As I know it's his favourite aftershave and It always smells so good on him! It comes in a gorgeous packaging, the box is a like ocean blue shiny colour, which is an absolutely amazing colour, with the Davidoff logo on the box and the name of the product, the bottle itself is a longish rectangle with a black lid which is round, the bottle is a really nice royal blue colour and also has the Davidoff logo on the front. The lovely packaging represents the gorgeous smell inside. The smell is not at all overpowering very subtle, so no matter how much you put on whether its a lot or a little, the smell is outstanding, I know instantly when he's wearing it as it smells so fresh with floral elements. It is my favourite aftershave that he wears, the reason why I decided to buy him this one instead of others he sometimes wears. If I didn't know the price of this product, I would suggest that it was expensive due to the smell being so elegant. I have no fault to this product whatsoever! I bought this product for £29.99 online, its a brilliant price for the quality of the product. It also lasts a very long time my boyfriends birthday was in November and has only got through half of the bottle. There are a few variety of sizes 40ml, 75ml, 125ml and the prices range between £15-£40. Overall this is a very fresh fragrance, which is extremely good quality for the price and lasts a very long time.
As far as colognes go Davidoffs Cool Water is somewhat of a timeless classic falling beside the category of such colognes as Old spice and kouros. Cool waters has been on the market for just over 22 years and is still popular in boutiques all around the world today. Almost every year a new limited edition of the cologne hits shelves with names such as coolwater frozen(2004),coolwater happy summer(2007) and coolwater icefresh(2010) among others but these new takes on the classic are short lived and rarely take the sales away from the original. As far as presentation goes it hasnt changed much over the years that i am aware of. It comes in a pretty nice ice blue bottle with a black top. I personally think the bottle says alot about the cologne, its a very refreshing bottle and when caught by the light reflets a blue glo which to me symbolises water and relaxation which goes hand in hand with this spray. The Box has also this effect and has almost a mirror look to it. Please take note that this fragrance does not come in a cellophane wrap so if you order over the interweb pleae dont worry it comes this way as standard. As I stated above its a very refreshing fragrance but at the same time pretty strong so dont over do it, I would recommend 2 to 3 sprays should do it i have personally found this has a scent life of around 5-6 hours. As far as top notes we have lavender, coriander, peppermint, rosemary and orange blossom. Middle notes jasmine, oakmoss, geranium and sandlewood, and finally the bass notes are amber musk sandalwood and ceder. These combined make cool water an all round fresh scent with a deep woodsy, mossy tone which works perfect on say a summers day. Although the bottle symbolised a almost oceanic fragrance i dont think its scent gives that off. I smell a very green earthy herbal scent which for me works perfect on say a summers day where it would fit in perfect. As far as age range for this cologne i really dont think it has a niche market as it is still poplar with young people today and also the more mature generation which this reminds them of years gone by. One draw back to this cologne is its popularity i would not recommend using this on a date as it may rewind her of a ex boyfriend or even her dad which is never going to go down well. However i would reccomend giving this a try it certainly does not disappoint and is fairly well priced. 75 ml - The cheapest i found was £25.50 125 ml - The cheapest i found was £29.99 I hope this review helped you and would like to thankyou in advance for any ratings.
The clues in the title "Cool Water" This is a very cool scent. Its very light and refreshing, perfect for everyday wear, but also would not go un-noticed if it was to be worn on a night out. A fragrance is very much part of the finishing touches to an outfit and if you don't smell nice, then the outfit will lack a little oomph. This is one of the frangrances which can be worn a lot of and still not be over powering. A lot of aftershaves I find are either a hit or a miss, as some seem to be so strong and head ache material. This one is really fresh and instantly reminds me of Spring/Summer, as you have the peaceful water image in your head from the title, not to mention the advert with the very handsome man! It is an all round wonderful scent for any man, who your maybe not sure what fragrance they may like, you cant go wrong with this! The only thing which may be considered a problem is as it isn't overpowering, men may over do it with the scooshing and run out quickly, but hey who cares if they smell nice!
This has got to be the best aftershave ever invented for men... my husband gets bottles from me every birthday and xmas, he loves the attention I give him when hes wearing it aswell as loving the smell himself. Its a strong but extremely fresh smelling aftershave, its also now a very cheap fragrance to buy in comparison with newer brands. I know this aftershave has been about for ever...the reason is simple...its the best!!
A great scent which will never get old. I have had this in the past and got it again at christmas and still love it. It is among my top 3 after shaves, my girlfriend likes it too so the smell is pleasing to both men and women. If you havent had this before you eould not be disappointed!
Davidoff Cool Water for men evokes strength, sensuality and freshness in a unique fragrance / The top notes include zesty bergamot and fresh peppermint, aromatic lavender and rosemary, green galbanum and fruity pineapple / Floral middle notes include vio
