Advantages: Sexy, refreshing fragrance for men

Disadvantages: Smelling this before seeing the ugly bloke wearing it, lol

I've written a few reviews on ladies perfumes and I thought it was time to give my opinion on one of the popular fragrances out there for men.

***The Company***

Davidoff are probably more well known around the world for their cigars than their aftershaves and they also sell Cognac too for the more discerning clientele.

There range of accessories include ties, pens and leather goods such as briefcases and have also branched into eyewear too.

Other fragrances in their range include Silver Shadow, Echo, Good Life, Zino and Relax for men as well as the new Cool Water Deep variety. Women aren't ignored as there are also variations of Echo, Good Life and Cool Water available for them too.

***The Bottle***

The Cool Water fragrance whether you choose Eau De Toilette or After Shave comes in a tall blue bottle that is rounded off at the sides with a sculptured design. Simple and practical with a hint of elegance. It is a bit different from the picture above.

***The Smell***

Made from top notes of lavendar, rosemary and menthe mixed with bergamot, this fragrance then dives into scents of jasmine, chevrefeuille, geranium, sandalwood, iris and oakmoss before delving into musky base notes of ambergris clements.

***The Lasting Qualities***

A small amount goes a long way with this one and whenever my bloke uses it in the morning I know that the scent of this will be with me all day whilst he is at work as he always says goodbye with a kiss before he goes and some of the odour will attach itself to me. When he comes in at night the fragrance on him is fainter but still very much there.

***Daytime Or Nighttime***

This is a very versatile aftershave as the lighter sweet notes are ideal for during the day but the muskiness also makes it excellent for an evening choice too.

***My Thoughts***

For me, this is a fragrance that I can instantly recognise if someone on the street passes me, and for all the right reasons. It isn't one of those heavy smells that leaves you with a migraine but is quite crisp and fresh and instantly my head turns to see who is wearing it. Unfortunately it's not often a guy as hunky as in the advertising campaign and I've only ever seen my bloke bare chested whilst wearing this. Probably just as well since we're getting married next year.

When he first puts it on, it is quite strong and the aroma does whaft round the house quite a bit. However, once the initial application calms down and the sweet scent of lavender and mint mixes into the more woody notes and jasmine, you are left with a very sexy smelling fragrance that instantly makes me want to grab my man. The musky base notes keep it smelling great all day and there is no horrible aftersmell depending on the male of course.

He loves this fragrance too, although I'm not sure if that's because he likes the scent or if it's because of the reaction it gets from me.

It's pretty good value and isn't going to break the bank buying it as with some of the more modern men's fragrances. I feel that this will be a popular classic for many years to come as it seems to suit differently aged men equally. Of course it should be said that to be fair to us ladies, that only good looking blokes should wear it, to avoid us being disappointed when our heads are turned by the lovely smell.

***The Range***

There are quite a few different products in this range and prices vary from store to store so I'll start by listing them with the recommended selling prices.

40ml Eau De Toilette spray - £20
75ml Eau De Toilette spray - £32
125ml Eau De Toilette spray - £43
75ml Aftershave splash - £22
125ml Aftershave splash - £33
75ml Aftershave Balm - £25
150ml Showergel - £14
200ml Showergel - £18
75ml Deodorant spray - £17
75g Deodorant stick - £15

***Price and Availability***

The fragrance is available everywhere, from supermarkets like Tesco to chemists like Boots. Online you can get some good prices from Supadrugstore.com and Strawberrynet.com. The cheapest for the 125ml Eau de Toilette I've found is £32 and for 125ml Aftershave it's £23.50.

You can also pick up a nice gift set for that special man in your life for £25.50 that contains 75mls of both the Eau De Toilette and the Shower Gel.

Summary: Great lasting men's perfume

This is one of my favourites! I love the fresh clean smell of it and prices are pretty good compared to other aftershaves. Still haven't got a partner...perhaps after shave isn't the answer to that one!!

Sex in a bottle eh - that explains a lot (I must dust my bottle off). I tend to have a splurge on one or other of the fragrances my daughter buys me - I'm a 'Nomad' at the moment!
