Davidoff Cool Water Game Woman Eau de Toilette
I realise that the women's version of Game has been discontinued, and for a while I woefully distressed by this. However I have recently discovered a local discount store has a few bottles that must have been ferreted away... A bargain at only £10.99 per 30 ml bottle.
This perfumes comes in a distinctive aqua, and cerise box, which is probably what first attracted me to the product. The perfumes it self comes in an aqua bottle, which is round, and tapered on two edges. The pump action nozzle works well to atomize the product, and as with most fragrances I tend to use around 4 - 5 pumps. I spray the fragrance on my neck, and writs over pulse points, as I was once told that this made the fragrance more apparent.
The top notes of the fragrance are apple and lemon. The fruitiness of the fragrance is really apparent, and the citrus hints really are obvious. This is a great summer fragrance in my opinion as it smells almost good enough to pour into a tall glass over ice.
The scent continues to develop scents of water lily and freesia. The light floral notes are wonderful on these hot afternoons, and nights, as they are fresh rather than cloying like other heavier scents can be. I have to admit I have never specifically smelt water lily, or freesia and cannot comment as to how true they are to the fragrances, however they do work well with each other.
The scents base notes are sandalwood, cedar wood and musk. Having looked into writing a few reviews of some of my favourite perfumes I have come to realise that obviously sandalwood and musk are favourites of mine. The scent does develop into something a little deeper, and less frivolous than the floral fruit salad that is apparent at the beginning of the application.
Although I can say all kinds of wonderful things about this scent - it does have one massive downfall it doesn't last very long. With most of my favourite scents I will only have to reapply once a day at most - however with this one, it needs to be reapplied every four hours or so at the most.
I may be getting a bottle at barginous prices - it is less economical than it could be as I am using so much each day I wear it.
So I do recommend it, however it does lose one star for the lack of longevity, and one for the less than great economy of using it so frequently.
I first originally smelled this perfume at my ex boyfriends mums, i fell in love with it straight away and I soon got bought it for christmas, I recieved it in the 100ml bottle which is the biggest you can get, with 30ml and 50ml also available, although I think that the 100ml is the best value for money. I managed to find it at the perfume shop for around £35 which I thought was a bargain. I have checked most shops these days for this perfume and I think you can only buy it from specialist shops online, which is a shame as if it was on the high street it would definitely sell very well.
When I had ran out of this perfume I was gutted, I rushed to boots and bought the 50ml bottle which was all I could afford at the time. It comes in an attractive packaging of blue and purple, which matches the bottle, however the bottle also comes with a silver pull off lid, I think this packaging is attractive as it is bright and eye-catching, which drew me to sneak a spray in the first place.
The perfume itself is very fresh and fruity, it in itself is definitely a summer perfume, it catapults you onto a spanish island, lying of the beach with a margarita. One spray of this perfume is enough as it smells extremely strong, and more than one would knock you for six, although you would still smell beautiful. I love this perfume as it is a typical womens perfume as it smells sweet and is not overpowering if used in a one spray burst.
Overall I would recommend this perfume if you are looking for a different perfume, something different to your usual smells. It is also something for the summer, which pulls you away from your warm and spicy smelling winter perfumes, well worth a purchase.
This has to be one of my favourite perfumes on the market. I bought it from Boots as it was on offer at the time and was quite a reasonable price, being priced in around the middle of the perfume market I believe. I believe it was around £20 for a 50 ml bottle but also comes in a 30ml and 100ml size bottles.
I really like the scent of the perfume and find it uplifting and refreshing. It is a mix between a fruity scent and flowery scent and is quite distinctive, but not overpowering. I find it suitable for day or evening wear, and lasts well throughout the day. It is versatile and I would say would suit all ages as it is not too sweet or too floral. The scent is unique and I personally really like it.
The perfume also lasts well; mine has lasted for months and there is still a lot left in the bottle. The bottle is attractive, in blue with a silver cap. It reminds me of water and ties in with the name of the perfume.
I would recommend trying this perfume if you want a change or are up for trying something new.
Love it!!!....i know that just by saying this does help...so I shall give details...:-)
Top notes comprise of 'apple and lemon' followed by heart notes of ' water lilly and freesia' and finally the base notes of ' sandalwood, cedarwood and musk'. When first applied you are hit with the fruity notes, which do quickly disappear and then you are left with the fantastic heart notes that ooozes floral freshness which is understated but you do get a hint of it every now and again! There is no dominant scent they all compliment each other perfectly....
The staying power is approx 3-4 hours, but it is an incredible everyday wear fragrance. Prices range from £19 -£35, but I have seen online prices starting around £12 for 30ml...so shop around.
The bottle, surprisingly I actually liked it, the curvy lines along the word 'game' stop it from being mistaken from its masculine counterpart (also the pink lettering is a give away...) I think it has a sporty type of feel to it which is most fitting given the fragrance name is 'game' and is described as 'energetic'.
This is the first time i have come across a fragrance that in is name, description and presentation compliment one another....Davidoff has definitely made sure that nothing it out of place.
I'll start by mentioning that this is my absolute favourite perfume I own. If you like feeling that you're on a tropical island.... somewhere hot and hearing the waves crashing on a glorious white sandy beach surrounded by palm trees while you're laying on your very own hammock sipping a cocktail, then you will love this perfume. This is how i feel everytime I spritz a bit of the fabulous perfume on my body. This perfume is definately a tropical perfume, perfect for summer. Even if it's a bit cloudy and overcast out there, this will always put you in a beachy mood. This is why I absolutely love this one.
Now, it i slighty pricey, but you don't have to put much on to be gorgeously scented. It is quite concentrated so will last you quite a while. I havn't used any other Davidoff perfume so I cannot compare to the others, but why would you need another when you have this one.
Lets talk about the appearance. I love how they've incorporated the scent of this perfume to the bottle. I 'd say this bottle is quite tropical... maybe like the colour of tropical waters? And the shape, fits perfectly in your hand.. It just makes you feel gorgeous everytime you use it.
So don't take my word for it, go try it.. see for youself. It may make you want to go book a holiday though.. :-)
