A cool, refreshing scent which lasts.

I received the Davidoff Cool Water Wave fragrance as a gift from my sister and instantly really liked the bottle and fragrance.

The bottle a elongated tear shape that fades from a light blue to dark blue from the bottom up. It is made of translucent glass with a silver metal rim and pump and a dark blue plastic lid. The bottle has the brand and name of perfume on the bottom written in dark blue letters. My overall impression of the bottle is very good. It has a classic, clean, fresh look about it with a bit of added interest coming from the colourful design. I really like the shape of the bottle as, at 30ml it is perfect for travel. The bottle is very lightweight and durable and the glass allows you to see the contents and judge how much perfume you have remaining.

The scent itself has a very fresh, fruity smell which gives a sense of youth and playfullness which I really like. It isn't my classic perfume choice - I like a rich, fresh, floral scent which smells very classic. However, this perfume makes a nice change from my usual choice of fragrance and certain has a little kick to it which is very fun. The core notes of the perfume are watermelon, mango, passion fruit and guava. This is combined with overtones of pink peppercorns, freesia and peony and undertones of sandalwood, iris wood and amber musk. The different scents do take over your sense in a continuous wave of smells. You get the fruity scents first, followed by the floral freshness which is very pleasant and finished with an enduring musky spice which adds a little kick. Overall, a thoroughly pleasant perfume which effortlessly combines scents in a playful way.

This perfume is certainly versatile. You could happily use it as a day perfume and then transform it into an evening fragrance easily. At roughly £20.00 for a 30ml bottle this is the cheaper end of the scale in terms of designer brand perfumes. There are also offers to be found, at boots it is currently half price which is a fantastic deal! As this perfume has been around a fair few years I would keep an eye out for special offers and deals to be had online - but do keep in mind that this is relatively cheap anyway and even at full price it is still a bargain. The fragrance lasts a long time and continues to smell fresh throughout the day and into night.

Would I purchase it myself? Definitely. I would probably wait for it to be on offer and snap it up at a cheap price. I can live without it most of the time and it certainly isn't my signature scent but it is a fun little perfume which is perfect for travel and exotic holidays in the sun.

      Really Nice

I had already got some of the Davidoff Cool Water perfume, my Other Half bought it for me for my birthday. It was only a small bottle but I found that the perfume lasted all day so I didnt have to re-apply it so it has lasted me a long time. I still have a bit in the bottom but asked if I could have another bottle for Christmas,

He bought me this new one instead which is still Davidoff Cool Water but it is called Wave. It is in a different kind of bottle, this one is much taller and very slim, it is still coloured blue though like the other one. It has a silver rim around the top and a nice blue lid to it.

The perfume is really nice to smell, it is a very pretty scent, these are the notes they use in it

      Waterfruits: Watermelon
Exotic Fruits: Passion Fruit, Mango, Guava

      Fresh Spices: Pink Peppercorn
      Floral: Freesia, Datura, Peony

Woody: Sandalwood, Iris Wood, Amber, Musks

I think this perfume is very modern and would suit almost every woman, might be a bit strong for teenagers but it is quite distinctive and you can smell it on for ages after you have applied it, so if you want a perfume that lasts then give this one a try. It smells very flowery when you first put it on and it is quite strong for a while although it does tame down a bit after a little while. I found the other day that I put some on in the morning about 8 am and I could still smell it on my skin in the evening. Also if it gets on your clothes you can still smell it the next time you wear them and it doesnt smell stale it smells nice.

A lot of friends have commented on my perfume saying how nice it is and asking what make it is, they say they can smell it as I walk past them and this would be quite a while after it is applied. I really like perfumes that last all day and I would definitely buy this one again when I have used it up (or ask for it for another gift).

You can buy this perfume in Boots, they have it online in a 30ml for £20.55 or a 50ml bottle for £29.50. On CheapSmells, com they have 100ml bottle for £19.95 which I think is very good value for money.

        Disadvantages

        Not for the girly girls

One of most recently opened bottle of perfume is a small sized 30ml bottle of Davidoff Cool Water Wave. I have only been using the fragrance fora few weeks and am almost half way through it already, oops. Its a fragrance I have bought and used many times and its an interesting mix that is not your average girly pink scent. It changes as its worn and what begins as one fragrance ends as another.

Davidoff Cool Water Wave is a fragrance that I feel could almost be a unisex one. It has a scent that is very fresh and aromatic and when I first spray it on I don't feel that it would be out of place if worn by either sex. As the fragrance changes it does become sweeter and more suited to a female fragrance wearer. Davidoff do make a mens fragrance of the same name and many of their range of fragrances in the Cool Water range seem to follow the same pattern which I feel makes is an interesting range.

        *********************************************************
I feel that this Cool Water Wave is a similar version of the very same fragrance made for men. I rather think they could have made just the one version with hints from them both, as the womens fragrance is a crossover scent that is very pleasant but is in no way a classic feminine scent at all. It is saved by a sweeter tone that developed quickly but still could have been a fully unisex scent with a little tweaking.

I do like the smell of this as its very fresh and modern, however longevity is an issue as I seem to be spraying it on again and again throughout the day. I haven't been too concerned as I was able to buy this cheaply at the time. Had I actually paid the full price which is closer to £19 I feel I may have been a little disappointed with it fading away so very quickly.

        *********************************************************
I feel that the bottle Davidoff Coolwater Wave for women comes in is very nice. It is a sleek and simple teardrop design that looks tall and classic. The pale aqua blue at the base extends and gets deeper and darker the further up the bottle it gets until the top where it is met with a deep blue plastic lid.

The only other colour present is a silver band that is part of the fitting for the spray applicator. I feel that the look of the bottle is modern and fresh and it looks very nice when on show. Although I tend to keep my fragrances out of sunlight I feel this would look lovely when catching the light as the colours of the bottle change and sparkle.

        **********************************************************
The box my fragrance came in was a simple mostly white box with the text in blue and a deep blue flash along the bottom that fades to white at the top. This look is totally in keeping with the scent bottle and also matches the box used for the body products like the body lotion. My box was sealed in cellophane for freshness and I found this easy to open and discard.

The influences within Davidoff Cool Water Wave are many and they include fruity notes of passion fruit, guava and water melon which fade all too quickly. Florals follow on quickly and I feel the fact that they are not too fruity is why I don't sense them very much as individual scents, they seem to blend very well which I like and the melon tone does remain on and off. The florals arrive a little later and comprise freesia and peony and I feel they are sweet and subtle so that I am not able to tell them apart.

        *********************************************************
Within a short time there is a definite smattering of pink peppercorn as I get a peppery spiced feel when I wear this. The peppery scent is something that seems to be used in mens products very often and when as with this fragrance they are mixed with base notes of sandalwood, iris and musk there is a woody yet blue spicy and musky base that gives a very distinctive feel to the fragrance with the melon scent returning on and off as it pleases.

I feel that this version of Davidoff Cool Water Wave is not the kind of scent to wear on a warm summers day or for a summer evening. It is more of an autumn/ winter scent for me, as I like the spicy sweet musky feel combined with the fresh blue tones that this gives off. The fragrance changes so much over time that is can smell very different throughout its various stages. Lovers of sweet pink girly scents won't be very impressed with this at all, however if you give it a chance it won't fail to impress.

        **********************************************************
The only thing I feel is a let down is the fact that I do need to spray a little more on as the day progresses if I want to keep the fragrance going on my skin. Other than that I do like this and would rate it as a 4 star fragrance.

        Disadvantages

        Bring out the sun!!!

A variation on the Cool Water branding (along with Water Summer 09), the bottle is quite individual (long and thin at the top and going down to a sort of bulb shaped bottom). The colouring is graduated from translucent turquoise to dark which is quite unique (I mean obviously with the name you expect blue, but they have tried to jazz it up!)

This is a total holiday fragrance for me!! Its all about the tropical fruit and you can pick up a few individual tones (passion fruit and guava) mixed in with a woody aroma!!! It does cheer me up on other days though as the name a smell combined it hints at hot foreign beaches!!!

I don't like very heady fragrances so this is just right with a couple of sprays for me- although other may want to spray on more than I do to make it more intoxicating. Worn fairly frequently and topped up through the day I take about 4 months to get through a 50ml bottle.
