Diane Von Furstenberg (aka DVF) is a fashion and fragrance brand.
'A soft fragrance with a seductive character'
Diane is available in an Eau de toilette, an Eau de parfum and a body lotion. Diane EDT is part of the 'woody-floral' fragrance family.
Diane has been created using various fragrance notes. Diane EDT is a blend of frangipani flower, violet, patchouli, musk and myrrh.
The EDT bottle is very feminine in appearance. The glass bottle is rounded and clear allowing the light golden perfume to shine through. The bottle has 'Diane' imprinted in gold lettering and is finished off with a chunky, clear lid.

I am all for trying new perfumes and have had the opportunity to sample some brands I have never previously heard off. I have had a few sample bottles of Diane EDT and have liked it but it isn't one which I would rush out to buy as it is quite expensive and not completely my type of scent. The full size bottle looks gorgeous though! Until I sampled this scent, I had never heard of Diane Von Fursternberg.
On to the scent...
Diane is quite a strong scent when sprayed onto the skin. The initial scent is quite heady and is a little mature for my skin. It quickly settles and the scent changes to a more versatile scent suitable for most ages. Despite being an eau de toilette, the strength of Diane is impressive and could rival an eau de parfum.
Diane is the perfect evening scent as it is a little rich for day time wear. The most prominent scent is a powdery floral bouquet. The violet shines through and is complimented by the frangipani flower. The scent takes a turn to reveal a floral heart with an exotic feel to it - no fruitiness but a general exotic floral scent with a hint of sweetness. It is quite pleasant but heavy on the skin and would have been a little nicer if it had been a bit fresher.
After a few hours, Diane EDT settles into quite a sensual base. The myrrh and patchouli blend together well to create a rich undertone to the musk. I would say the musk is the most prominent note offered by the base of Diane. It does age the scent quite a bit as it is quite strong on my skin and I cannot say I really like the closing scent very much. It starts to fade after a 2 hours or so and the complete scent lasts around 5 - 6 hours on my skin.
Diane EDT is more suited to older skin types in my opinion. It is a little heavy and musky for my liking but some younger ladies may appreciate this more than myself. It lasts fairly well and has a pleasing strength on the skin. It simply isn't really for me.
Overall 4 stars - a pleasant enough scent, just not one I would wear all the time.
