Advantages: Gorgeous, feminine fragrance with decadent, vintage feel. Beautifully packaged. A gorgeous gift.
Disadvantages: Scent does not have significant 'staying power' - best layered
Introduced in 2008, Fuel for Life Unlimited follows in the footsteps of its sister fragrance Fuel for Life which was a massive hit for fragrance fashionistas. Unlimited is, however, a more grown-up and altogether exciting scent.
Diesel have put a huge amount of effort into creating a perfume which not only smells gorgeous, but also one which looks incredibly glamorous on your dressing table. The golden brown glass flask is dressed in fine brown fishnet with a delicate golden chain 'necklace', suiting the scent's heady and sexy boudoir scent.
The perfume has a gorgeous, feminine but bold scent, with immediate spicy and woody notes, combined with lush aromatic peach and liquorice aromas. The perfume has a sexy, vibrant and modern smell which instantly makes you feel sexier, sultrier and more feminine. The product is probably best suited (in line with the slightly bohemian advertising campaign) for a young woman with a sophisticated, edgy side and a love of all things opulent and decadent. The product would also make an ideal gift - the packaging is hugely attractive and the perfume is now on most women's Top 10 favourites or 'most desired' list!
I love this perfume and use it mostly for day-to-evening wear (rather than everyday or 'at the office' scent). It definitely has the pulling power to be a favourite 'going out' scent too. I have had many compliments from a number of people (including my friends and strangers too!) saying how much they like the scent. My only criticism is that I have found that the scent does not last for as long as I hope and I can often not notice the scent an hour after I apply. This problem can be rectified however (as all fragrance fashionistas know) by moisturising well before applying your scent as well as layering - luckily, Diesel produce a Fuel for Life Unlimited moisturiser (which you can often buy in a special 'gift pack' with a bottle of the fragrance) which definitely helps.
The fragrance can be purchased in a variety of sizes, being 30ml (approx £29), 50ml and 75ml (£46). As a fine fragrance, it can be bought from a variety of places (the usual department stores, fragrance shops and online, where there are often deals to be had). I would recommend buying a larger size, if only for better value for money, but also as I don't believe the scent has the 'staying power' of other perfumes so you may wish to be more generous in spritzing it on.
In short, this is a gorgeous, glamorous and very grown-up perfume for women. It has a sumptuous, dominant and spicy scent which is definitely a firm favourite of mine (I am only my second 75ml bottle, need I say more?!).
Summary: A decadent fine fragrance from Diesel with wood, spice and golden floral and peach notes
