Produced in 2007, its another Diesel product with a great smell that is long lasting and comes in a novelty bottle with a nice little zip up label.
It is still in production today and for the money, its well worth it. With Grapefruit, Raspberry, Lavender, Dry Woods, Heliotrope, it oozes fruitiness.
It is not one of the those Boss or Gucci smells. Very different, but still masculine in smell. My wife loves it, infact she likes all the Diesel smells. Go to a nightclub and everyone seems to smell the same, but with this, your abit different. In a good way of course.
Sweet smelling and strong for a good 2hrs before it calms down abit. But at the end of the day, you can still smell it on your shirt. Unlike others I have, Gucci, CK, I will be buying this one again.
Whether or not its something that I only notice, but it has abit of a smell of liquorice.
The bottle has been reliable and I have no issues with the pump action.
I love Diesel clothing and their accessories for men with almost every fiber of my fashionable soul, but I was reluctant to try a Diesel fragrance. As a former perfumer, I'm always skeptical about designer fragrances. In my opinion, nothing compares to anything by Chanel, but I was pleasantly surprised by Diesel's fragrances. Most of the ones for men have heavy base notes of cedar and teak, they are very woody with hints of light musks, probably to anchor some of the lighter wood scents down. The middle (or heart) notes are floral, but still stick with that woody, spicy floral theme - perhaps a hint of Ylang Ylang, Patchouli (base note and middle note) and for the top notes, I detected definite spices and or amber - mixtures of vanilla and myrrh - perhaps a little cinnamon.
As I stated, I was surprised at what wonderfully different creations Diesel has come up with as far as fragrances, even since "Fuel for Life." All of them carry the heavy scent of cedar and are perfect for any man. The scent is very masculine and very attractive. It's not powdery like Gaultier's Le Male - It's manly. It reminds me of an equestrian just back from riding, with that leathery, sweaty, outdoors scent that would drive almost anyone up a bed post!
Having worked on fragrance for about 3 years and with my boyfriends ever growing fragrance collection I have come to be a slight know it all when it comes to fragrance, mens fragrance in particular. I have always liked Diesel fragrances, they a subtle and notably different to others on the market, so when i saw a 50ml of this on offer i thought it was time to add it to my boyfriends collection.
The top notes of this fragrance are Rasberry and Heliotrope, with middle/heart/body notes (however you like to phase it) of Dry Wood and Grapefruit. This would suggest a very fruit fragrance, especially for a male fragrance, however i would say the wood note it more noticeable with a very subtle sweeter, fruit edge. It certainly does not smell how you think it would when someone tell you these ingredients. If you like to compare it to other fragrance its got the woodiness of D&G The One, but the sweetness of Lacoste Pure (the white one). It is quite subtle, similar to D&G The One again, but distinctive. The packaging is simple with a modern/rustic look. The bottle itself is clear, thin and rounded with just the name raised in the glass, but is sold with a brown zip pouch which is quite different to anything else on the market.
The fragrance normally retails about 28 pounds for a 30ml, 38 pounds for a 50ml and about 48 pounds for a 75ml. However, you can often find the 50ml reduced to 26.66 so keep an eye out for the offers.
The fragrance is a beautiful subtle but noticeable fragrance with a nice masculine woodiness. My main complaint with this fragrance is how long it lasts on the skin. Admittedly this changes from person to person due to different skin types, but generally it does not last as long as main other fragrances on the market. It seems to last about 3/4 hours before needing to be topped up, which admittedly is not too bad, but as most men do not carry fragrance in their handbags it might not be ideal for everyone.
A nice distinct day fragrance, that is not too overpowering at a good price. Just wish it lasted a couple of hours longer.

I bought this fragrance as a gift for the man in my life last christmas. Diesel Fuel for Life was released in 2007 but is still going strong. Its target market i feel would be 18-30. I had decided to buy this fragrance as it was a very good brand that i trusted, and one that a male friend has recommended as a gift. It is in a vintage bottle casing which certainly stands out on the shelves and within your collection. The fragrance is available in 30ml, 50ml,75 and around the 100ml (that i know of - when i was buying only 30 and this one was available), all for quite a price. Now then - to the smell....
This is quite a fruity smelling male fragrance, but not as much as you would expect from the likes of Joop for Men. The scent is one for all times and moods in the day, but on a night out you would certainly catch good attention due to its lush smell. Its smell fresh and crisp, with a slight spiced smell, which is not too heavy of a fragrance that you can sometimes find on men. It lasts very well, only requiring a small amount, which makes up for the usually heavy price tag around the bottle. I would say it lasts between 3-6 without needing further sprays. Theyre is a real problem with this though in the fact you can over do it - simple is best in this case.
The Diesel fragrance is usually between £22 on ebay to £60 in The Perfume Shop. Debenhams and Boots i found had quite good offers on, but dont expect much change from £40. This is quite expensive im sure you will agree, however towards certain times of the year there is a cut in prices, or included in gift sets with a body lotion, or a sample size in a collection. I would say do not let the price tag put you off, as i mentioned earlier it does last an awfully long time.
To summaries i would like to say that this is an excellent value for money fragrance which I would recommend, and will myself be buying again. As a woman i will say it certainly attracts you to the scent on the man, which adds to their appeal. I would highly recommend the purchase of this fragrance and if you are buying for the man in your life, as it is not a smell thats going to make your eyes water, but makes your man smell lovely. As for men, if you want attention - buy!
Summary: Good fragrance.
I have wanted to get this fragrance for a while, but after finally getting a chance to sample this recently, I wanted to get this even more and then finally purchased this a few weeks ago, so feel I am in the position to give this
The main notes here are Raspberry and Heliotrope (yes I don't know what the second one is either), whilst other notes include Dry Wood and Grapefruit amongst a couple of others that aren't worth mentioning. So yes it is quite a fruity fragrance, but still pretty masculine as it has a great blend with the dry wood.
The bottle itself is pretty simple, but with an added touch, although the reason for this touch I am not sure. There is a brown cover, that u can zip up. I just don't understand the reasoning behind this. It may be for protection, and I can see its benefit when clogged up with other times but overall I just think it is not needed.
The price is pretty reasonable, I wouldn't say as budget as Carolina Herrera fragrances, but in the next bracket with the Davidoff's and a little cheaper than the Hugo Boss fragrances. A 50ml bottle will set you back around £25 from Boots, whilst you are looking at around £34 for a 75ml bottle. As I always say do your research online before popping to your next retailer, as there are always offers about.
In terms of longevity I would only give this a few hours, I always find this hard to judge, as I find that after a few seconds my nose becomes accustomed to the smell and I can no longer smell it, so how do I judge how long it lasts? Well I use other people's noses for that, and ask them if they can still smell it. Simple really. A few hours is expected, and don't be expecting an all-day last like Le Male or a Burberry London scent. I would give this four sprays as each spray isn't that giving so three at a minimum up to a maximum of five sprays.
I think this is a fragrance you can have in your day wear, as long as you don't wear it all the time. In my opinion you should have a collection of at least three day fragrances that you mix up. You don't want to become associated to one fragrance after all, so this is always a good idea.
Overall I would put this up there and think once it runs out I will definitely be repurchasing a bottle for my collection. I do have quite a few flowery scents but none quite as fresh smelling as this one, and it's always good to have a varied and diverse collection, so I do recommend this to people looking to add a quality fragrance to your collection that won't bust your bank account.
Diesel Fuel for Life was released in 2007 and I found this fragrance with another three mini bottles in a selection pack of fragrances for men which I was given as a Christmas present I believe in 2010. I had liked this fragrance for a while before getting it after trying a tester in my local Boots store. As you can see it's in a rather old looking style pouch as though it's a little bottle of alcohol, If you don't like the pouch you can remove it and have the bottle clear which looks quite nice. So what does the fragrance smell like?. That's the all important question of any fragrance really. Thankfully this is a very pleasant scent.
This is a lovely subtle scent with fruity notes mixed with stronger notes of heliotrope and vetiver woods, The scent feels fresh and is suitable for various moods and times of the day. It's ideal for nights out due to it's attractive scent and lighter notes. The fragrance importantly lasts well with a good three to four hours in between the change of the various notes which is good. You start the fragrance with a fruity feel which continues with the second notes and as the fragrance changes you get a slightly more woody fragrance which has a little spice to it. This works really well to give the fragrance a balanced all round feel. The notes blend well after a three or four hour time period and the fragrance fades well.
Star Anis, Grapefruit
Patchouli, Dry Wood
The fragrance comes in three different sized bottles, the 30ml, 50ml and 125ml and these sizes range from between £30 and £50 which is comparatively expensive compared to some of the more similar fragrances around at the moment but you should be able to find some great deals especially with gift sets which include shower gels or after shave balms and you can also find them with a toiletries travel bag which is ideal if you are going on Holiday or a Business trip. Boots are currently giving away these travel bags with the Fuel for Life fragrance. Have a look around online for various deals and you might find some very tempting deals.
This is an excellent fragrance which I would recommend for males between 20-40 years old. It has an attractive scent which will appeal to men as it will women who smell it on their partner or other men. I would certainly buy this fragrance on it's own as it's one of the best that Diesel do and the long lasting scent is another big plus. If you look past the price and find some good deals then this fragrance could be a great purchase, It's strong enough to last long due to not needing to spray much on and it's fragrance is so pleasant. I would highly recommend this fragrance and if you like this one then check out some of the others in the most recent Diesel range as they are also good too, Particularly Only the Brave.
