For the last couple of years, one of my favourite fragrances has been Loverdose by Diesel. It was launched in late 2011 and lucky for me, Santa brought me some that year and I have worn ever since.
I tend to always buy the perfume however in the sales, I brought a gift set of EDT in error, not really understanding what the different between EDT or EDP was (although I have now learnt that EDP contains more perfume concentrates making it stronger).
Accordingly to basenotes.com, the fragrance is as follows:
Top notes: Mandarine Orange, Star Anise
Middle notes: Liquorice, Gardenia, Jasmine
Base notes: Vanilla, Wood, Amber
Upon first spray, what struck me what that this was nowhere near as strong as the EDP, it is very light indeed. The first fragrance that I can detect is floral, I don't tend to like floral fragrances however this doesn't smell too old fashioned, and this then subsides to leave a nice fruity and vanilla hint. Although this isn't too strong, it does have a lot of staying power, towards the end of the day, I can still smell the fragrance on my clothes and several people have commented on how nice the fragrance is.
I know how good a fragrance is when people ask me 'ooh, what perfume are you wearing', I have had several people at work as me this and comment how nice it is.
The bottle has quite a funky design; it comes in a purple chiselled bottle which resembles a heart shape, running through the middle of the bottle is the spray tube which is designed to look like an arrow through the heart. Because of the bottles chiseled effect, it doesn't have a base and can be placed back on my shelf in the bathroom at any angle (and I don't have to worry about accidentally banging it and knocking it over).
It comes in three different sized bottles; 30ml which retails for approximately £30, 50ml which costs around £45 and 75ml which retails for around £60 . After Christmas, the gift sets of these tend to be reduced to half price (I have spotted this is the case in John Lewis, Debenhams and Boots) so I tend to stock up then as you can get a 50ml bottle of EDT and at least 100ml body lotion for around £25 making this an absolute bargain!!.
Because this is a lot lighter than the EDP, I do find that I end up straying more on than I would expect and therefore a 50ml bottle doesn't last me very long.
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this fragrance, I find that the EDT is just a bit too light so I would prefer the EDP and adjust the amount I apply, but I do lover everything else about this, therefore I would give 4 out of 5 stars.
