Advantages: Nice bottle... maybe?

Disadvantages: Smells awful, Quite masculine & Cheap.

While shopping in one of my local discount stores I noticed a selection of perfumes at heavily reduced rates. Most of them I had smelt in the past or had never heard of which is what led me to select Diesel Zero Plus Feminine for Women from the shelf. As it was priced so reasonably at only £4.99 for a 75ml bottle I decided I had to have a little splurge that day and it found its way into my basket.

Diesel is arguably most well known for its clothing range oppose to its fragrance range which is quite small. It's an Italian brand which was founded in the 1990s and is most recognised for producing Diesel jeans although the range has now expanded to include other clothing items for both males and females, targeting the youth audience. The brand itself is quite stylish, vibrant and young.

The Perfume

The Diesel Zero Plus range was launched back in 1999 and consisted of a male and female fragrance. There is also a male deodorant in the range although no female counterpart as far as I am aware and no further products in the range.

The packaging is quite unique and consists of an outer, clear plastic dome which sits on a white base. The bottle itself is a rich red colour with a silver press down dispenser top, similar to the majority of other perfume bottles out there. There's no actual lid to the perfume which means it's incredibly hard to carry it around in your bag or luggage without it being sprayed onto the surrounding items when it comes into contact with other objects.

The fragrance is described as being "an almost edible fragrance with coconut milk, strawberry, vanilla and cherry" which is all honesty makes it sound more like a cocktail or a smoothie than a perfume. In my opinion it is quite a strong smell and I personally think it would be more suited in an aftershave than a perfume. The coconut hint is almost overpowering and does make it quite sickly. It's certainly not what you'd call a fresh or light fragrance but instead hangs quite heavy.

I applied it when I first returned home and found that the scent had all but gone within an hour or two... thankfully. If I had of liked the scent I would have been extremely disappointed that it faded so quickly, if you were wearing this for a full day you would easily have to reapply it about six times to keep the scent there, which certainly isn't ideal in my opinion.

My Opinion

It certainly smells more manly in my opinion and I threw my bottle away without even half using it. The coconut scent was strong and quite sweet while the perfume itself didn't smell much different to an Air Wick air freshener or something similar. In fact I probably should have kept onto my bottle and used it as a bathroom air freshener! Unsurprisingly the perfume is remarkably cheap, if you do wish to get your hands on a bottle (which I would strongly urge you against) you can find a 75ml bottle for only £9.99 at The Perfume Shop.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: A female perfume from the Diesel brand.
