Dior Addict 2 is available in Eau de Toilette format. It's priced at around £35 for 30ml, or £51 for a 50ml bottle.
I quite like the bottle for this perfume. It's certainly nothing extra special or out of the ordinary, but I like the simple, classic, elegant look it has. Whilst it looks quite classy , the fact that it's all in pink makes it more girly and gives it a younger feel.
The fragrance is described as a floral fragrance with soft, musky notes, for the young and sexy. I think I'd agree with that, apart from the sexy part, I don't really think this is a 'sexy' fragrance, it's just girly really.
The top notes are grapefruit and bergamot, the mid notes are freesia and grenadine, and the base notes are white musks and sandalwood. The overall scent for me is a fresh floral which feels very girly and feminine. I don't notice the musky or woody elements in the scent at all, it's really just the fresh fruitiness of the grapefruit and the crisp florals that are apparent.
I really love the lightness of this perfume, it's quite refreshing and unlike a lot of fragrances it doesn't give me a headache. The scent is really lovely and I find it perfect for every day or daytime wear. It's quite a simple scent, but one that I get a lot of compliments on.
Although it is described as being for the young, I think this scent would actually suit women of any age, as although it has a girly feel to it, it doesn't have that sickly sweetness that makes a perfume seem really out of place on the older woman.
Just a couple of sprays of this is enough to get a lovely veil of fragrance, and it lasts well for an eau de toilette, I'd say about 5 or 6 hours before I feel like it needs topping up.
Yes, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a light, feminine fragrance.
Several months ago, I bought a set of Dior fragrance miniatures from the airport, thinking it would be a good way to sample a number of different perfumes. I received five in the box and have tried them all substantially over the last few months. Today I'm going to review Dior Addict 2.
This is a modern bottle, with straight clean lines, tall with a silver lid and a clear glass body allowing you to see the pink perfume inside. It isn't the most beautiful or ornate bottle, but it's pleasant enough and fits in with the ethos of the fragrance.
Dior Addict 2 is described as an oriental floral. Grapefruit and raspberries form the centre of the fragrance, an unusual combination that I haven't come across before. It is a sensual, sweet fragrance.
I find Dior Addict 2 to be a lovely, appealing, refreshing fragrance. It smells fruity and light. There is a hint of raspberries and an aspect of citrus to the scent. I find that on first application the citrus dominates, but after a while a warmer, fruitier scent comes out.
For such a light, refreshing perfume, the scent lasts quite a long time, and I can detect it on my skin for several hours. I find it is most suitable for the daytime, but I can get away with wearing it during the evening on less formal occasions, particularly during the summer.
***Price and Availability***
When searching the Internet to find details about this fragrance, I discovered that it is now called Dior Addict Eau Fraîche, a name which I prefer to Addict 2, which isn't particularly memorable. Like all Dior fragrances it is pricey, at £35 for 20ml, £49 for 50ml and £68 for 100ml. However, like all Dior fragrances you really do get what you pay for.
This is a lovely, light, refreshing fragrance which I've really grown to love. Despite the expense, I'd consider purchasing a full-size bottle, as it really does smell amazing and last a long time. I think it would appeal to a lot of people as it is so fresh and pleasant.
I smelt Christian Dior Addict 2 on one of my many trips to my local perfume shop and I stuck it on the list for my birthday this year! I was pleasantly surprised when one of my friends bought it for my birthday! Ever since, I have to admit, I'm addicted!
The box of this perfume is pale pink, shiny and glittery. The Dior Addict logo is written on the front in red glittery writing.
The bottle itself is a baby pink colour with the glass still being see through so you can tell how much you have left. The bottle is square shaped and has a silver lid. The words Dior Addict 2 are embossed on the bottle at the side.
Well this was bought for me as a present but I have had a look online and you can get this perfume for the following prices: £39 for 50ml and £78 for 100ml from www.boots.com so it's not exactly the cheapest perfume around!
I find this perfume is very feminine. According to the Dior website this perfume
Includes top notes of grapefruit and bergamot, heart notes of freesia and grenadine and base notes of white musk and sandalwood.
I think this perfume is light, fresh and fruity. It is quite sweet smelling but not so bad that its sickly sweet/
Does The Smell Last
I sometimes find that the girly perfumes tend to fade quite quickly and to some extent this one does. Don't get me wrong, it still lasts for quite a few hours but it is not as good as some of the other perfumes I have review, such as Gucci Envy.
I spray this perfume a few times in the morning and I can still smell it around 5-6 hours afterwards but the smell then fades and you can hardly notice it on yourself.
Who Would This Scent Suit?
I think this scent would suit most woman who like light and feminine fragrances. This is not woody or spicy in any way so for woman who prefer those sort of scents, I would steer clear of this one!
Christian Dior have a good range of perfumes such as Dune, Poison, J'Adore and Miss Dior to name a few.
I have only noticed this perfume recently and was surprised that I had come across it until now! Since I have though, I have become an Addict. This perfume is perfect for most occasions like going out for dinner, or out drinking.
I would say that this perfume is great for this time of year, as it's a very summery perfume.
The price is about the normal price for a designer perfume which is a little on the expensive side. Overall I am impressed with this perfume, although it doesn't last as long as some others I have, it still lasts long enough for me to feel like I have got enough wear out of it! 100% recommended.
I was lucky enough to receive a little box of Dior goodness which included amongst other Dior perfumes, a bottle of Dior Addict.
I previously reviewed Miss Cherie and Hypnotic poison which are both fragrances that wouldn't have immediately attracted me in a store. Addict however, is more in keeping with the types of fragrances I normally go for in terms of packaging and scent.
The bottle is of clean, simple, modern design which would look good on your bathroom shelf.
The bottle I have is transparent pink tinted glass with a silver square shaped lid giving the clean lines and in my opinion a slick stylish look.
Dior Addict will cost you around £35.00 for 50ml of the Eau De Toilette and around £47 for the 100ml bottle.
Dior Addict is a lighter fragrance than Miss Cherie and Poison. Therefore, I would be more likely to wear Dior Addict day to day rather than on a special night out.
Dior Addict is advertised in many stores as having a top note of grapefruit, heart of freesia and a base note of white musk.
I found that all of these notes come through perfectly. Straight after spraying on my skin I got an immediate burst of fruity freshness, however, this settles in to more of soft sweet floral fragrance. The grapefruit balances out this fragrances perfectly giving it a zest and bite that keeps the floral and musky notes from becoming too sickly sweet and heavy.
My only complaint about Dior Addict is unfortunately I didn't find it lasted that long enough! The fragrance is mild. After wearing for an hour I have found you can no longer smell it without your nose getting firmly acquainted with your skin. So if you want another burst of this lovely fruity fragrance you would need to top up throughout the day.
Overall, I would recommend Dior Addict. It's a great choice for day to day work light, floral, fruity and sophisticated.
I recently inherited a large bag of assorted cosmetics and make-up items from a very good friend of mine, all of which were completely unused and most were still sealed. Within this 'lucky dip' of treats were many items from 'high end' ranges such as Clarins and Clinique, as well as a couple of perfume products and miniatures. Now, I'm not one to look a gift-horse in the mouth, and am always keen to try out different items and cosmetics, so of course the goody bag was received very gratefully!
In amongst the bag of goodies was a miniature Eau De Toilette from the Christian Dior range called 'Addict 2'. The perfume is of course available to buy in a full-sized bottle which is 20 ml in size, and this costs around £30 - £35. (Prices as @ October 2011). The little bottle that I have is approx 5ml in size and although the packaging for the miniature and the full-sized products are very similar, the one main difference is the aerosol 'pump' dispenser that is present on the full-sized version is absent from my little guy.
This is no huge problem for me, and all I need to do is pull off the pink-coloured lid which reveals a little 'opening' underneath, through which I can pour or dispense the liquid from the glass bottle onto my wrist. Easy peasy! Furthermore, I find that the pink-coloured glass bottle and pretty pink and silver lid that make up the Dior Addict 2's packaging are very cute and attractive, and are a pleasant addition to my dressing table.
The perfume itself is very pleasant to wear and I find the fragrance is quite light and has a sort of 'even' tone to it, so I don't find that the Addict 2's scent is one that changes too much throughout the time I am wearing it, but more about that later. The tone of the fragrance is not particularly musky or heavy in any way, which is my preference for perfume products that I wear during the daytime, as I find muskier scents can be 'cloudier' or 'heavier' when I am wearing them and are best suited to evening wear or special occasions. This is just my preference of course and this matter is down to personal choice.
The scent is quite fruity in my opinion, particularly when it is first applied. I can detect strong citrus-like notes in the fragrance easily which give a tangy, fruity tone to the scent. Although this is not unpleasant in the slightest, I feel that the citrus-like 'tang' dies down quite a lot after the perfume has dried on my skin, and it gives way to a much more feminine undertone which to me is slightly floral and very sweet.
Although the high level of sweetness contained in the Addict 2 perfume could easily be over-powering or even sickly, I find that the fruity, citrus-like notes that had been detected so easily at the application process can still be detected once the perfume has dried on my skin, albeit the citrus element is much more understated than when first applied. The slightly 'sharp' edge of the fruity, citrus tones seem to envelop the flowery sweetness that is present in the scent and the end result is a harmonious balance of sweet and floral sitting comfortably alongside tangy and acidic.
Whilst this would be pleasant enough in itself, there is a very subtle undertone in the make up of the Addict 2 perfume that is not at all evident (to me, at least) until the perfume has been completely dried and has been on the skin for a short time. Then this last little 'puff' of fragrance comes out from hiding and remains until the perfume wears off completely. I find this very bottom of notes is rather difficult to describe, but it is rather 'soap-like' to me, without being over-powering or taking anything from the fragrant top notes. In actual fact, the bottom note seems to balance the other scents further, without adding any confusion to the fragrance or complicating the mixture of fragrances.
The overall aroma of the Dior Addict 2 is a very feminine one, although I don't find it is too 'girly' for me to think of the fragrance as being slightly immature. In actual fact I think the aroma suits my age and personality perfectly; it is not too fruity that it makes me think I am too old for it, neither is it overly-floral to make me question whether IT is too old for me! Likewise, I think that the 'personality' that the fragrance possess suits my needs perfectly; it is not overly 'in-your-face' or too 'outspoken' whilst not being so subtle that it is a 'barely-there' type of scent that is something of a tiny whisper on my person.
In actual fact I find that the Addict 2 sits comfortably in-between, and it is an absolute winner for me! I have become so fond of the fragrance that I have all but used up the little miniature I received recently, and so have already requested the full-sized product from Santa!
In case it is of relevance to consumers, I would point out that the Addict 2 fragrance is strong enough to remain on my skin all day and into the night, even if it has been applied first thing in the morning. I have had no incidences of needing to reapply the fragrance and so I think it is a very high-quality product and therefore feel that the price tag is justified.
The current price for the full sized 20ml bottle of Dior Addict 2 EDT is £33.50 from Boots. Most larger branches of Boots have a selection of fragrances available, or you can purchase the product online at www.boots.com, although it may be worth shopping around online as I have seen the perfume priced slightly lower than this elsewhere.
I first experience this beautifully mixed purfume when my boyfriend brought it for me at the duty free on our way to our holiday destination. I was brought the box set that also contained the purfumed moisturiser which is gorgeous with the added glittery tint on your skin aswel as the beautifully girly summery scent left on your skin. I must say i smelt most glorious on my holidays and had many comments asking me what i was wearing around the pool and at dinner. It is a lovely mix of rose and lilly, floral smell really it really is as beautiful as it looks. I love the container it is in aswell, the glass is beautiful keeping it cool and the top that twists to expose the spray making it look glam and easy to use. After my holidays i did buy the smaller version of this product to fit into my handbag, as the one i got at duty free was massive, great for my bedroom but not my bag lol.. I would highly recommend this product to any girly girl, who loves sweet summery floral smells, it really does leave your skin feeling fresh and luxourious and yourself, feeling glam and sexy and every so elegent.. buy and enjoy the experience of DIOR ADDICT 2 my favorate purfume of all time, i use this over and over and beats all the other floral rose, lilly smelling purfume out on the market today :)
i would also add that the price for this is great value for the product you are receiving, i would pay more because it really is so beautiful..
Now as you can probably tell by now I love my perfumes and probably get a good few bottles a year to add to my collection! I first smelt the Dior Addict 2 in a gift box I got one Christmas which contained 4 miniatures of different Dior fragrances. A great gift may I add!
The perfume comes in four different sizes and is priced averagely around 100ml - £50, 50ml £35, 20ml - £27 and 5ml £9. You can also buy a 200ml body lotion and a 50ml body lotion (which both smell gorgeous and the smell is very long lasting too!).
Straight away I this became one of my favorites out of the box and then I begged everyone for my birthday to get me a full sized bottle (which I got :D).
First impressions on the packaging is that it is very pretty and girly. It comes in a pink rectangular cardboard with red Dior Addict and then a sparkly 2 on the box. The bottle is equally as girly and is a quite thick baby pink coloured glass but is see through which is always a bonus for me! The lid is like a heavy pink plastic (it doesn't feel cheap at all which some lids can) with a silver kind of bobble on top which you press down to dispense the fragrance which is a very cute and different idea.
On the Dior website it describes the fragrance as by being "inspired by the Dior Girly collection, it incarnates a bubble of optimism and mischievous femininity for the innocently sexy girl. High-energy yet soft and playfully seductive."
Which I think I totally have to agree with. It is very feminine and girly and not too over the top.
The actual perfume is slightly citrusy and you can really smell this I think when you first spray it. It smells quite grapefruity and orangey at first. After wearing for a while it does tone down and the floral smell starts to come out. It also has quite a musky kind of smell overall which I totally love. I think its a great summer fragrance or just as a pick me up in the winter. For once I also think that its one of those perfumes that you can wear equally in the day as well as in the evening.
It also has great staying power on my skin which I find I struggle with a lot of other perfumes so for me it is definitely worth the money and I am totally an addict!
So although a bit pricey I do think it is definitely worth the money and I will be buying myself some once I have run out.
Dior addict 2
I received this perfume as part of a set of four miniatures, the gift set is called Dior little luxuries. It contains this perfume, J'adore, Hypnotic Poison and Miss Dior Cherie. And the gift box is just so gorgeous.
*About the product*
I have the miniature which is in a 5ml or 0.17 fl oz bottle. The bottle looks exactly the same as the full size versions, it is pink and it has Dior addict on the front. The other miniature perfumes are the same size as this one.
*My opinion of the product*
I really really like this perfume, it is the first time I have owned and tried this fragrance and its really quite nice. I like the bottle, it is not like a lot of other fragrance bottle designs that I have seen and it looks quite cute on my dressing table.
I hate any musky kind of scents and this scent does have white musk in it but it is not really strong or overpowering and it lets the other lighter and sweet notes take centre stage. The main notes are sweet, floral and fruity, which is what constitutes a great fragrance in my opinion.
The main notes include, the top/head note is Bergamot, which is sweet, fresh and citrusy. The heart/middle note is the note in a perfume which is the main scent of the fragrance - the main body of the fragrance, In this fragrance the middle note is Freesia. The base note is white musk which is a light soft and slightly powdery musky scent.
I really love this scent and I really like the subtle change between the top, the heart and finally the base notes, it is not a overpowering change and the notes complement each other nicely. I also get a few compliments when I am wearing this, so it it noticeable to others, but it is not overpowering.
The fragrance has really quite good staying power, I have to touch up although I do this with all perfumes as I like the scent to be quite strong and noticeable. The fragrance lasts most of the day and it is really great for day wear and with the musky note at the end of the perfume, it would be suitable for a refreshing evening wear fragrance.
*Price and availability*
I got this as part of a set which I think was about £25-30. But they can be bought individually from many stores and online retailers. This fragrance comes in three sizes, 20ml, 50ml and 100ml, it is a bit unusual for a fragrance to come in 20ml, it is usually 30ml.
Boots: 20ml = £33.70
Boots: 50ml = £49.02
Cheap-perfume.co.uk: 20ml = £27
perfumeemporium.com: 5ml mini = £10.96
*Really gorgeous fruity, floral sweet scent
*Really nice and slightly unusual bottle design
*Available in a range of sizes
*Good staying power
*Notes are not overpowering - subtle change in notes over time, makes the fragrance fresh
*Slightly musky but it is not really strong
*Great for day wear
*a bit expensive
Thank you for reading my review
Christian Dior is a fashion house. Dior opened his first fashion house in December 1946. At this time, he designed clothes and expanded the company to create style trends.
Promoting the brand further, a range of perfumes were created with Miss Dior being the first release. The perfumes were originally only trusted to special salons and perfumeries due to the elegance and image. The perfumes are now available in many outlets along with other beauty treats including skincare and makeup.
===The Addiction Takes Hold===
The Addict collection from Dior, is promoted to women who crave sensuality. There are 3 fragrances within the collection. Which one you opt for depends on whether you prefer sensuous, invigorating or a light experience.
*Dior Addict Eau de Parfum
*Dior Addict Shine Eau de Toilette
*Dior Addict 2 Eau de Toilette
Dior Addict 2 comes in an EDT form with a matching body moisturiser. The scent is described as having a mischievous femininity which would suits an innocent yet sexy female. It is strong yet soft and gentle at the same time.
Each fragrance is created using a blend of scent notes. The notes included in Addict 2 seem to vary from different websites. The following have been obtained directly from the Dior website.
*Top notes are those which give the initial impression of a scent and last only a short time. Addict 2 opens up with Bergamot. The Bergamot is grown in Southern Italy and adds a sweet freshness to a fragrance. Other notes that are said to be included are grapefruit.
*Heart notes are those which make up the main body of the fragrance. Freesia makes an appearance in Addict 2 and blends with jasmine and orange blossom for a floral treat.
*Base notes are those which finally settle on the skin and generally last the longest. White Musk is added here and provides a softening, cotton and powder like feeling which smoothes the skin.
The bottle is high quality and beautiful..I would expect nothing less from Dior. Although I have a miniature bottle, it is almost identical to the design of the large bottle. The bottle itself is transparent and pink with Dior Addict raised up on the glass. It is rectangular in shape and has smooth edges. The bottle is complete with a pink lid and a silver knob type bit at the top. On the large bottle, I believe that this silver part would be used to spray the perfume from the integrated hole.

Ok, I think its obvious by now that I love my beauty products. It is also clear that I never pay full price for anything so this makes brands like Dior and Givenchy very appealing to me. As a stay at home Mum, I don't often get the opportunity to spend money on myself. I do however purchase lots of beauty products on ebay and split them up..selling some, keep the goodies I want!
I have accrued a wonderful collection of perfumes over the past year and although I love my big bottles, I like to have a few miniature bottles that fit into my bag or the back of the pram. Dior Addict 2 is one fragrance that I kept admiring in Boots but had never been lucky enough to own. About 2 months ago though, I received this miniature in one of my ebay lots and decided to nab it for myself! I am a lover of all things Dior so I knew this would be a hit with me!
Like I said, I admired the bottle for so long and its simply beautiful. Its pink and silver which I love and the design is chic and modern. This scent is described as being girly so at 22, I felt it would be perfect for my young self. My initial impression when I opened my little dab on bottle was a distinct sweet, freshness. It was strong and very feminine.
Applying the perfume, I dabbed a bit on my wrists and a dab on my neck. I like to apply perfume once I am ready to go out and hope that it lasts the day. Addict 2 gave off a fab first impression. Although more powerful and nose tingling that I expected, it was different. There was a strong burst of citrus that came through quickly after application. It was sweet and refreshing and I can only imagine that this would have been the bergamot and grapefruit entwining. This powerful entrée quickly subsided and I was a little glad as it was starting to give me a little headache..maybe I applied too much first time round as it hasn't been as powerful in further applications.
The heart of Addict came through within a few minutes and was carried through well without interruption. It is without a doubt floral but not overpowering to the senses and certainly not as strong as the initial scent. Freesia is a note which I have became familiar with through various perfumes and I can detect its freshness instantly. The freshness and distinct floral notes were slightly blended with a sweet tone. It reminded me of another Dior scent but I can't quite decided which one. It was light and sensual and certainly suited to a younger skin.
After around 2hours, the floral composition breathed its last floral tone on my skin and made way for the base notes. Whilst my nose is used to detecting Vanilla and Musk in base notes, I was shocked to find that Addict 2 didn't conform to this habit. Once the other notes had fully settled into my skin, my skin had a softness and slightly silky feel that normally only occurs with body moisturisers. This texture on my skin was only where I applied this perfume so this was a pleasant surprise.
The final scent on my skin was light and clean. Almost like I had stepped out a warm shower and applied a handful of body powder. It isn't highly scented like the rest of the scent, it is just simple and powdery with a hint of sweet muskiness. The lasted for most of the day and although it wasn't strong, I still felt confident that I wearing a perfume. This scent even when disappeared from my skin, was detectable on my scarf the next day. It was a beautiful treat to be able to recapture the Addict scent whilst out in the cold air the next day.
I feel this is a day time scent and moreso Summer as it is refreshing. It isn't quite heavy enough for Winter or evenings and although the scent lasts a good length of time, it loses its intensity and settles into the powdery ensemble. It is a young scent and would make a lovely gift for a young lady..perhaps in her 20s as it would be very well received.
Of course not every perfume will suit everyone as our body oils work differently and I would highly recommend nipping into Boots for a tester. I would also recommend the Dior mini gift set should you be looking for a slightly expensive gift at £25.00. The perfumes in the set include J'Adore EDP, Miss Dior Cherie L'Eau, Addict 2 and Hypnotic Poison EDT. Perfect gift for any Dior Addict!
Although this isn't my favourite scent, it is beautiful and one which I would be glad to receive as a gift in the future. For now though, my miniature bottle is lasting extremely well.
Thanks for reading!
My mum bought me this perfume for part of my Christmas and I love it. The one she got me came in a gift set with a body lotion and black clutch bag as well and I am unsure how much she paid for it but upon looking on the internet the average price for a 50ml bottle is around £30.
The bottle is rectangular with a round spray button on the top which is silver where as the rest of the bottle has a pink tinge on it which makes it look feminine and girly. The scent of this perfume is very floral and fruity with orange, grapefruit and freesia aromas as well as more sweeter scents such as watermelon. The scent of dior addict 2 is made more mature by the smells of white musk and sandalwood which make it suitable to wear day or night.
I would highly recommend this perfume to all women who like classy fruity scents. I personally think it is for everyone from the age of around 20 and up as it is a more mature smell and would be too grown up for anyone younger than this. A lovely perfume which comes in a nice bottle.
This is a review of Dior Addict 2, a lovely light and floral summery fragrance. My friend bought me a set that included two small bottles of this (and two other Dior fragrances) for my birthday last March.
The packaging is really cute and girly, light pink with a glass body and a metallic top. Mine has a clip on top so you dab the perfume on but the full size one (I am often to be found prowling the perfume counters at Boots or Debenhams) has a locking system too which is great for carrying it around with you.
Price wise you can pick up 50ml of this fragrance for around the £30 mark, which I think is quite reasonable as it's a high quality, long lasting fragrance.
** What's in it? **
A delightful combination of the following: Grapefruit, Orange, White Musk, Grenadine, Freesia, Cedarwood, Lotus Flower, Pineapple, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Lily of the Valley, Watermelon
**What does it smell like?***
The first thing I notice about the scent is how fruity it is (that must be the grapefruit and orange!) but it's a really pleasant citrus smell, quite sweet and a little musky. I think it's name is good as it's a quite addictive smell you want to get another whiff of.
**Also in the range**
There's a similar bottle of Dior Addict 2 called Summer Peonies in the range that I'd be interested in testing as I really like this one. The ingredients in the Summer Peonies are, funnily enough Peony with floral notes. The bottle is the same but has a flower print up the side of the bottle that looks gorgeous.
I'd be quite happy to receive this as a gift in the future! I've enjoyed wearing it and think it's one of those fragrances that appeals to most without being overpowering. I think the price is reasonable for Dior perfume and would recommend a spritz next time you're passing a tester bottle!
Someone just bought me this perfume as a gift.... and it is now officially my favourite!
It has a really pretty, fruity, floral fragrance that is a combination of citrus fruits, freesia and white musk. It comes in a gorgeous pink box, with a lovely pink bottle inside. The bottle has a metallic lid that is a twist top - meaning that there are no loose lids that will pop off in your bag, and with a simple twist of the nozzle on top the perfume is sealed closed - so no accidental squirting.
Its not the cheapest of perfumes - i think it cost my friend about £25 for a small 20ml bottle, but it is definately worth it. There is nothing cheap about the smell or the packaging. And a bonus with buying expensive perfume is that the fragrance lasts! It still smells as fresh and vibrant as it does when you apply it in the morning and work the whole day.
Its a very light fragrance - and despite the fact that it has white musk in it, it doesnt smell musky at all. So if your buying before you try - be aware of that. Although this is available at most perfume outlets - boots included - so next time your in store, pop over for a sample and see if you become Addict-ed!
I got this perfume as a gift, so to be honest, probably wouldn't have bought it myself.
I can't decide if I like it or not, I think it depends on the day. So here is my 2-sided balanced review of it:
This is a typical Dior-esque bottle made from glad with a silver top. The round thing on the top gets turned "on" and "off" depending on if you want to spray or not to spray. I like this part of the design as it works well and there is no chance of the lid falling off and (a) getting lost or (b) spraying when it shouldn't. The glass is a light pink colour so looks very girly and the overall look of the perfume is classically Dior and trendy. The downside is that glass is breakable so I wouldn't take this on holiday for example.
At first when you spray it, I find it quite overwhelming and to be honest a bit 1980's. The good and bad thing is that the smell does develop over time and calms down a lot. I have no idea what ACTUAL smells are in there but it smells to me like lillies and jazmine flowers [edit to add: just noticed in the description it has "fressia" and "lily of the valley" in it - so I obviously have a good nose!!] which for me can be quite overpowering smells. Anyway compared to my other "strong" perfumes such as Coco Mademoiselle, I find this harder to tolerate and find it a little bit sickly. HOWEVER, when I've worn it for a few days, you do become immune to the strong smell and don't notice the smell on yourself as much.
The smell definitely is a long lasting one, and gets easier to tolerate as it wears off. You can still smell it on your jacket the next day, so beware if you don't like that "next day" "toned down" smell from perfumes.
**IS IT WORTH IT**
For me, because I'm not OVERLY fussed on the smell, I personally won't be buying it again. It is about £30 for 30ml which I think is quite expensive BUT it does last a long time because you really only need one squirt at a time.
Overall I'd say if you like floral perfumes, this is the one for you. If you don't like "sickly" then give it a miss.
I bought this perfume around 2 years ago from a tax-free shop at the airport. When I was lucky enough to have a bit of extra cash in my pocket, I was always quite excited to get a new duty-free fragrance either on my way out or my way in to the UK (of course this was a time when I also had money to go on holidays...:-(....). I bought a 50 ml bottle of Dior Addict 2 and I think I paid around £20 at the time (minus tax) and I don't think that the price has changed much, although I am sure by going for 100 ml instead you get more value.
One of the things which really attracted me to Dior Addict 2 was the appearance of the bottle. When you are in a fragrance shop surrounded by hundreds of different perfumes, the bottle really needs to stand out in my opinion as few of us have enough time to go round and smell everything that is on sale!
You can see what the bottle looks like as DooYoo have an accurate picture of it at the top of this page. It is a lovely feminine (but not too girly) shade of pink. I quite like the way that even the metallic lid is a shade of pink. All in all, the bottle is stylish simple and feminine.
I would describe the smell of this perfume initially as rather trendy and sharp. Those were my very first impressions of Dior Addict 2. At the same time it smells rather sexy - there is something very confident about it. The main notes of this fragrance are bittersweet grapefruit, lush orange and mellow bergamot therefore it really has quite a citrus-based smell to it.
When I apply this perfume, the smell seems to last pretty much the whole day which is a great thing in my opinion because I find it suitable for most occasions. For example I would be quite happy to wear it during the day at work, or a daytime event, and just as comfortable if I were to wear it to a dinner party. I can't really define it as being a daywear or eveningwear perfume because it's suitable for both. The other great thing about it lasting all day is that you obviously get great value for money.
In terms of how long my 50 ml bottle has lasted me, well I still have a half-full bottle! I do not wear it everyday, probably around once a week and usually use around 3-4 squirts at a time. This is usually enough as like I said it is a sharp smelling fragrance which you don't need much of to be noticed!
I think this fragrance would be liked by strong, extroverted, confident women that are not afraid of making a statement. What's more is that you could wear it day and night!
I have used this purfume for about two years now since smelling it on a stranger i had to ask her what it was and i bought it the next day, since then i have had strangers come to me asking the purfume I am wearing! this scent is every females must have. I havnt used any other since! the scent is heavenly and i totally adore it. i know the scent suits most people as when im getting ready with my girls for a night out they all seem to have a couple of sprays. it is simply a must buy! however it is rather expensive but you can often catch it in the sales at a great price normally as a gift set! i feel this purfume suits every mood and every occasion, its not to sweet and not too strong. its just right to make you feel beautiful and attractive!
