Advantages: Quite cheap now, you may like the smell

Disadvantages: Didn't pick up on any of described smells, becomes sickly over-time

I had high expectations for the product, DKNY Red Delicious EDP for women, because of positive comments and recommendations about it from some of my friends, saying its smelt wonderful. So I asked my dad to get it as he wanted to know what to get me from his business trip to America. I know it's silly - I didn't smell it prior nor did I intend to because I really thought it would be nice. So I had no idea what it was going to smell like - all i could develop my idea on was what it may have smelt like by checking the fragrance's scent descriptions on the internet. I still had high hopes otherwise.

When my dad came back from America and presented it to me, it was in a nice box, stylish and I had really thought the smell would match the quality of the box. Initially I thought it smelt nice but then the more I smelt it the more unappealing it became to me. I would say it smells floral but I can't describe it any further than that. Before i requested my dad to buy it I made sure i checked the Perfume Shop website to see the smell descriptions where it stated the "heart notes" were scents of champagne accord, lychee, red raspberry, apple, rose, vanilla bean, patchouli, amber, sensual skin accord, raspberry and said it was "fruity". I didn't distinguish any of those smells at all and really was dissapointed.

Not at all what I expected. I don't know what it was, it felt quite cheap and i was hoping for a punchy, fruity smell where i would want to wake up everyday and put it on. It became less appealing to wear and I would have rather put on another perfume. Ultimately I still used it otherwise it would have been a waste of money, but the smell became sickly after using it repeatedly, and decided the best thing to do was to give it to my sister and use a different perfume.

Because of my experience with this perfume I have become a bit put off by buying any other fragrances from this brand but I have to say the DKNY Delicious Night (Purple one) is utterly fabulous as my sister bought it and I would recommend you buy that one if you wish to buy one from this designer. I won't completely overlook DKNY perfume's and neither should you from this review - we all have preferences and tastes and it might surprisingly delight you. My dad bought it from Macy's and can't remember the price (plus I doubt you'd get one from there as there are no Macy's in England!) but you can buy it in store or online from The Perfume Shop, 30ml for £17. I would just like to point out that you also shouldn't make decisions before you try it as it could benefit you and you can make sure if you really like it or not! I hope you make the right decision; but I personally wouldn't recommend it to you.

Summary: A dissapointing perfume.

I agree- I am a big fan of Cashmere Mist by Donna Karen (DKNY= Donna Karen New York) and its not a patch on it!
