“ Brand: DKNY / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for women „
I like DKNY Perfumes, and got this as a present from a friend for "being there". I didn't need anything obviously, but was well happy that she had took the time and thought to get me this. I hadn't tried this before or even heard of it to be honest, so was happy to be trying something new out.
As I found out this is a Limited Edition, so not sure if it is still available. Surely you can still get this in on the Internet for a while to come even if it isn't still in the Shops.
It is a 50ml bottle I got, not sure if it is available in other sizes. I have looked online and see that this size sells for around the £10 which is great value in my eyes.
The box is quite eye catching. A white box with red writing over it. It is square like the other DKNY Delicious Perfumes. The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. Like an Apple, but with an odd sticky out bit. This is to symbolise the Candy Apple part, so is the stick. This is a spray that is in the main part of the Bottle, and is easy enough to direct and spray.
So now to the smell of this. How does it smell? It is very fresh and fruity, but with some heavier floral scents mixed through which I wasn't expecting. This is mainly raspberry which is like a Sorbet and a nice sparkling smell. It smells juicy and ripe but with a bit sweetness to it. There also seems to be a mix of Peony and like the little white Baby's breath Flowers you get in bunches of Flowers. It all goes together nice, but I thought this would have been just all fruity and sweet smelling.
This is a nice Perfume and once it has settled down and warmed to your skin it is even nicer. It is great on the offer price, and to be honest although I would pay a bit more for this, it wouldn't be that much more.
A nice smelling Perfume, but probably more suited to young people due to the sweet smell.
I love fragrance and buy it for myself rather too often to be perfectly honest with you. I tend to like very expensive designer stuff (don't we all) however I know how much stuff costs and so I save my good stuff for going out and/or special occasions and things like that more often than not. I do like to wear a perfume in the day though even if I'm just dossing about......I will dab some perfume on to help me feel confident, fresh and feminine.
I spotted this range of limited edition DKNY 'Candy Apple' fragrances reduced recently in Boots. With three fragrances to choose from and limited funds on me picking one was hard but in the end I settled on a bottle of this and at a mere £9.90 a bottle I felt that I had a real bargain and was delighted with it.
The bottle comes in a square shaped red and white box with a picture of the perfume bottle adoring two sides of the box. On the top of the box I am told that it is DKNY 'Donna Karan New York' and then on the front of the box I am told that it is Delicious 'Candy Apples', DKNY. Limited Edition Ripe Raspberry Eau De Parfum Spray and the size is stated which in this case is a 50ml sized bottle. On the back of the box other information listed includes ingredients being given, cautions the website address is given (www.dknyfragrances.com) and contact details for Donna Karan cosmetics are given. Nice, enough rather young looking box this is but it does look good quality and inside you get a large apple shaped round bottle that is red plastic to the top of it with a piece of grey plastic sticking out of it with DKNY engraved into it and the base is clear glass with a light red transparent liquid in it. Pull the two sections apart you get a silver push button sprayer and then when used you can easily push it all back together. It's a nice enough bottle though not exactly what I would describe as sophisticated or anything like that.
The Scent.....What We Are Officially Told About This Fragrance....
Ripe Raspberry is the second fragrance of the collection, created of ripe, juicy raspberries dipped in lime and fresh apples icing. Subtle fruity notes are surrounded with peony, magnolia and beautiful sweet notes, while a base is built around coke.
This is actually a rather hefty perfume. I did expect from that description that this would be a really sort of barely there fragrance but it isn't it is highly fragrant and not in a bad way.
The main fragrance of this although it is called raspberry is actually white flowers. I can really smell the magnolia and peony within this and then floating over the top of that is the smell of sweet and natural raspberries. I can't smell apple and coke within it at all however but simply a sweet aroma of fruit and flowers blended together and that is a perfect balance in my humble opinion.
This for me is a young, day time fun scent of excellent quality. Although its a fresh and young aroma it doesn't for a second come across as anything but great quality. The scent lingers on the skin for hours upon hours however I do find this when initially applied this to be rather sticky on the skin though to be fair to it over time that stickiness does evaporate.
Although this isn't a 'me' scent and I feel it is a young one I can't fault it. It's an interesting smooth scent, long lasting on the skin and fresh and if you like floral, fruity scents then I suggest you do give this range of DKNY scents a wee sniff and it is a rather unique fragrance!
Also available in other sizes and other fragrances. Other fragrances include sweet caramel and juicy berry and if not on offer expect to pay anywhere between £20.00-£35.oo (ish) quid a bottle in all good chemists and online etc.
When Donna Karen first released her apple shaped and scented 'Delicious' and 'Be Delicious' fragrances they were an instant hit! They have since become her most popular range an have began to grow in popularity.
'Candy Apples' is a brand new limited edition of three range new fragrances; Ripe Raspberry, Juicy Berry and Caramel Apple. They come in a 50ml bottle which resembles a coloured apple shaped bottle, like the 'delicious' range but with a silver DKNY embssed stick coming from the top, like a candy apple! Its very cute and fun and comes in a nice box too.
The fragrance is an 'EDP'; Eau de Parfum which means it is a perfume rather than a 'toilette' so the fragrance is much more concentrated so it will smell stronger and last longer. You can get away with spraying only a couple of times the day to geta long lasting smell, where as toilettes require constamt top ups.
Each bottle costs £30 and are only available for a limited time (not too sure when this is) and can only be bought from Boots, which means you can earn or use your Advantage points to buy it.
I wasn't sure what I expected from this product, something resembling the original apple like scents or a whole new fruity fragrance. Well, as you may or may not know, perfume smells different on each person and also chaned throughout the day. However, I will give you my personal opinion but I would always recommend that you go try it yourself.
The first and main smells I get are of juicy fresh Raspberries and then I get a second smell of fizzy Cola. The sweet smells are soooo very tempting and very fun and flirty. I loved the mix of fruitiness and sweet. It sounds like a crazy mix but it just works.
The smell lasted on my skin for ages and I got addicted to sniffing it because I love the scent. it's unlike anything I've ever smelt before. I do have all three of the candy apples range and this is definitely my favourite by far. I don't think it has much resemblance to the apple scent of 'delicious' but it is very fruity, however with a nice new mix.
Definitely worth a smell!
