After trying the red D&G perfume (see previous review) many years ago I decided that as I loved it so much there was a good chance I might like other perfumes of theirs too so set about finding one that I could wear on a more day to day basis as the red one is really an evening/special occasion kind of fragrance. I found this Feminine perfume in duty free on the to Spain and fell in love with it straight away. It used to be widely available but recently I've been having more trouble finding it, although you can still pick it up online for around the £30 mark and comes in both 50ml and 100ml bottles. I've had both over the years as the 100ml one is really quite big and if I'm only carrying a small bag it takes up half the space inside so I decided to invest in a smaller sized one too. The bottles for both sizes are identical only one is taller than the other. I really like the packaging for this perfume as it is simple yet quite funky at the same time. First of all it comes packages in a nice, shiny, silver carboard box (see picture above) but to be honest, this gets thrown into the recycling bin as soon as I open it. The bottle is cylindrical in shape and of clear glass, making it easy to see how much perfume you have left and is topped by a simple silver lid which continues the shape of the bottle. The lid on the larger one I've never had any problems with (although this may be becuse it just sits on my bedroom shelf not doing anything) but the one on the smaller bottle frequently falls off when it's in my bag leaving the bag and everything in it smelling slightly of the fragrance. I'm not overly bothered by this as I would be by a more powerful fragrance but it is slightly irksome nonetheless. Using it is like any other perfume, you simply press down on the nozzle to dispense a fine mist. I find that one press onto my throat and one onto my wrists (then rubbing them together) is more than enough as it is quite a strong fragrance. Apparently this fragrance was inspired by young women who, according to D&G are sincere, candid and realistic! So this, being based around that notion, is "a clean, crisp and uncomplicated fruity floral with hints of musk". It's top notes are mandarin, mimose and fresh water lily, heart notes are floral lily, heliotrope, wisteria, jasmine and ylang ylang and the base notes are sandalwood, vanilla, musk and cashmere. Despite all the florals listed there I would struggle to call it a typically floral perfume and for me the scent is predominantly a musky one. I would definitely agree that it is a younger type of perfume probably more suited to women in their late teens, twenties and thirties although obviously any aged woman should wear whatever perfume she likes and I will continue using this as long as I can get hold of it. The initial fragrance when you spray this perfume is quite strong and slightly overwhelming but it soon settles down to leave you with a lovely, fresh but quite musky scent. I personally am not very good at detecting invididual elements in perfumes so my nose can't pick out any fruitiness or specific floral tones either. When I think "floral" for perfumes I always think of granny type perfumes and this is no way a granny type perfume and I would agree with the D&G description of it being clean and crisp rather than overly floral. For me this is a perfect every day perfume that I would spray on if I was just having a day at home or a casual day. It's not really powerful or sophisticated enough for me to wear on an evening out or for special occasions but I don't mind that as I have others for those times. I always use lots more casual, fresh, easy to wear type perfumes anyway as these are obviously the ones that get used on a daily basis. As for staying power this is strong enough to last me all day if I'm just at home. If I was out for lunch or shopping or what have you then I will probably reapply it mid-afternoon time (and usually get complimented on it when I do!). Because I have received so many compliments on this perfume and it is such a light, clean fragrance I have also been known to send a few quick spritzes of this into the rooms of my home when visitors are due and I've run out of air freshener too! For me this is another winner from D&G, whose perfumes I would probably never have tried had it not been for smelling the red one on somebody else. As a complete contrast to the red version, this is much ligher, musky and clean smelling and is ideal for every day and casual wearing. The bottle is simple yet stylish and I think on a whole it is good value for money as the perfume has good staying power and you don't need to use too much of it. A hearty 5 stars from me for this one and I just hope that it hasn't been discontinued and that's why I can't find it very easily :(
Dolce&Gabanna Feminine is an extremely light and wearable scent suitable for everyday use. Of course, the smell of a perfume varies depending on the individual, but this is an extremely fresh and clean scent on most wearers. On me it has a smell something like talc and cucumber - actually much nicer than it sounds! - by which I mean that it has a really fresh floral scent without being too 'girly' - despite the name. What you won't find in this perfume are strong smells of musk, alcohol, roses, or any of the other cliched components of women's fragrances. Instead, the product is light, clean, and suitable for wear during the day. I think the fresh and sophisticated scent of the perfume is well reflected by the packaging, which I love, with its sleek, shiny, and straight-forwardly elegant design. You won't have to worry about this looking out of place in your bathroom or boudoir. What I like best about this product is that it seems to be a well-kept secret - I have never smelt this fragrance on another woman. When I used to wear scents by Hilfiger and Davidoff (and even CK One during my teenage years!) I would always be running into people wearing the same fragrance, which was not what I wanted at all - with Feminine I have a unique signature scent. In terms of prices, I always buy my fragrances in bulk when I'm passing through duty free, but I've seen the 50ml size on Amazon for just less than £60, which is a little more than I would be willing to pay for any fragrance. However, my current 50ml bottle has been in use for nearly two years now, so I cannot say that the £60 price would not offer good value for money. Just one or two spritses of this fragrance in the morning will last you all day. I've never needed to carry the bottle with me to reapply. It's not a strong scent, but it will last, without ever being overpowering. I've worn this fragrance for over eight years now and it's a firm favourite.
Dolce & Gabbana Feminine is another one of those perfumes that i could always smell on a friend and thought it was gorgeous so i asked which perfume it was she was wearing, as soon as i found out it was D&G feminine i went out and bought it because i had been looking for ages for a scent that would last long enough on me for people to be able to smell it. This certainly didn't disappoint and i find the smell so fresh and sexy. You can really smell the Sandalwood and musk in this fragrance. I would say this perfume does suit a younger person best. I personally think the scent is a little bit similar to a mans aftershave smell, which most people might think isn't very nice for a womans perfume, but this one is just lovely and makes it that little bit more different. It comes at a very affordable price to and you can get a 50ml bottle for around £25. This is a Dolce & Gabbana classic and is not to be missed!
I usually stick to the same type of perfumes and that is the Hugo range but one Christmas I recieved a gift set of a new fragrance - D & G Feminine. It was a completely new perfume to me as I rarely buy it for myself so I don't often look at new fragrances. The packaging for the gift set was a silver cardboard box which had a mirror effect as it is so shiny. The familiar D&G logo is in bold black lettering in the centre of the box with smaller wording underneath stating it is Dolce and Gabbana Feminine. The bottle is a very simple one, it is a plain bottle in a basic cylindrical shape and appears to be made out of very thick glass. At the top of the bottle is a bright shiny silver nozzle which is covered by a chunky silver lid. The bottle itself is clear and the logo and name of the perfume stand out in the same black writing as on the box. With the bottle being completely clear you are able to see at all times just how much of the perfume is left so you know when you need to replace! Using this perfume is just the same as any standard perfume, simply press down the nozzle and a fine mist will be released. When I say fine, I really mean fine as with some perfumes you can feel it quite wet on the skin but with this it is barely noticeable. The scent is quite strong and one that I would personally say would be best suited to a night out, but of course that is personal preference. The fragrance combines mandarin, mimosa, water lily, heliotrope, jasmine, ylang ylang, cashmere musk, sandalwood, cedar and amber. As with all perfumes I have, I am useless with picking out any of the single scents in there but I would say that the overall smell is quite musky with a floral undertone. I would personally think this perfume would be more ideal for a younger woman, but that doesn't mean that I think it is restricted for the younger market. I say this as it is quite a strong and maybe even overpowering scent at first and that tends to be a younger woman's thing. When using the perfume I noticed that the scent stayed strong enough to last the whole day and it was great that I didn't have to reapply at any point while I was at work, although I did realise that it was too strong to wear in the office and left it for a going out scent after that. A 100ml bottle of D&G Feminine really varies in cost, from around £28 all the way up to £50 so I would really advise you to shop around for this fragrance!! There are other sizes available from various retailers. My gift box included a body lotion however I am unsure whether that is still available as I have never seen it since. All in all this is an ok perfume, it isn't one that I replaced once it had run out but I would be happy to receive it as a present again even though I wouldn't specifically ask for it. I think I would give this fragrance three out of five stars! Thank you for reading my review :)
This review is about a perfume that I got as an present. It is a familiar smell that I myself have never used before. The bottle I personally find style full but it could also be described as ''boring''. I like a more style full bottle then a bottle that looks crazy. For me the bottle says freshness and youthful. The bottle has a long shape with a large silver cap. On the bottle you have in black letters indicating the brand name and give it a more simple but stylish look. In short it's a class full bottle that is easy to use. The perfume is to describe in one word: fresh. The fragrance is a fresh word to mention. The ingredients indicate that they used different flowers, but again there is some fruit added. Frankly the flowers are more dominating than the fruit and I can hardly notice the fruit. You can really tell the water lily, the memos and the normal lily. The mandarin I can't really notice although it's already a sweet smell itself. It is all in all a slightly sweet, warm but fresh scent with the flowers combined with the musky scent. Not too overwhelming nor too much present, just exactly right! A small amount is enough for a large part of the day to smell delicious. The fragrance hardly evaporates during the day. It is a typically feminine perfume and one for daytime. Because of the floral elements I associate it more with daytime than at night. Well, I can brief, I find the smell quite nice but very fresh. It is not spicy scent which I personally prefer. The combination of musk and flowers provide a natural freshness throughout the day like you're carrying a natural breeze. You don't need much and one spray is enough for the whole day. A perfect daytime scent!
I originally received a bottle of this perfume as a gift, but liked it so much I've bought a couple more (big!) bottles since. I have to admit, I wasn't previously a big perfume person, but this smells so nice and I take it everywhere with me. - The bottle is simple but stylish, and as it's not a weird shape it easily fits in my bag when I'm travelling. It's also quite resiliant to being accidentally dropped on the floor! - I've never had so many compliments on a frangrance I've worn! From both men and women, friends, workmates and even my football coach whilst on the pitch. This is what clinched it for me as the scent! - The fragrance is, to me, a perfect balance between subtle and feminine and being noticeable and different. If I put some on in the morning, I would reapply before going out in the evening. - Other reviewers describe far better than I, the delicate balance of scents of lily, water lily, vanilla, tangerine, white cyclame, mimosa and heliotrope... apparently. I like it anyway! - On the first bottle I had, the lid seemed poorly designed such that the fitting inside came away from the main lid and the whole thing would never stay on the bottle - perhaps this was a one-off dud bottle or they've changed the design, but I haven't had any problems with any other bottles. - The spray is even and covers a suitable area, and consistent / non-dribbly throughout the life of the bottle. I never had a bottle leak in any way.
Dolce And Gabbana are my most favourite perfumes. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are well known for their fantastic perfumes but also known for fashion and designer clothes. They have worked closely with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Madonna, and lots more. D&G have created lots of fragrances for both men and women. And there's one that always sticks in my mind and is my second favourite of theirs which is Feminine. Feminine 50ml Eau de Toilette is a floral fruity smell. There is water lily, tangerine and white cyclame in this fragrances blended nicely with lily, mimosa and heliotrope, i can always same the Vanilla. When first sprayed the scent is kinda strong but it does calm down after a little while and smells quite musky and light, very '' feminine'' and sexy. For some it can take a little while getting used to as it is kind of strong at first. One thing that i can say about this fragrance is it does last a very long time, the scent stays on your skin hours later and i've always had compliments on it. I love the fact the scent comes over all girly, fresh and clean. I find you dont need to spray lots on your skin to get it going you will only over-power it. The bottle i think looks quite glamorous, a clear glass with the see-through liquid inside with a silver plastic lid and comes in a rectangular silver box. It has the word ''Feminine' in the middle of the box. I think i got my fragrance for £18. I reccomend *any* D&G perfume to the ladies out there, especially this one. You will not regret buying it and its a reasonably priced item.
I love Dolce & Gabbana! I love designer fragrances too so it was only a matter of time before I got my grubby mitts on this and actually I have bought it for the past couple of years now over and over. It's one I like so much that when I run out, off I pop to get another one so already we know this is a positive review lol The Packaging.... The bottle comes in a white box which clearly tells me what it is and who it's by with the size stated at the bottom. Plain and simple box wise really as is the bottle which is a cylinder shape and made of thick clear glass with a bright shiny silver sprayer push button situated to the top with a matching silver plastic lid. On the front in black writing I'm told it's D&G , Dolce & Gabbana Feminine, Eau De Toilette. On the bottom of the bottle on a clear sticky label I'm once again told in small lettering that it's Eau De Toilette, has 77 % volume, the size is stated (in my case it's 30ml, but also available in 50ml and 100ml sizes), I'm told the product is made in Italy and contact details are given for Dolce & Gabanna. I can of course see the perfume though the bottle (as it's clear as I told you already), and it's a really light goldish colour. All in all it's all very simple and what is odd to me is that although this fragrance is called feminine the packaging really isn't so nice and simple it is. The Fragrance.... Well as you would expect when you push the button you get a decent cold, slightly damp spray out. It never comes out gushing wet, really it's a fine even mist and simple to use. Smell wise, well it's modern and romantic and most suited for day time wear in my opinion but that's because I like quite a strong day time wear fragrance and something even bolder than this for evening use suits me fine! It's a blend of Yuzu, Water Lilly, Cyclamen, Pear and Ozone, tuberose, Mimosa, Wisteria, Lily and Heliotrope, Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Cashmerande. It's basically a very floral smelling fragrance in a modern way rather than old fashioned or anything but it is floral. For me I can smell the water lily the most giving it a watery wistful feel with a hint of musk under that smell and the sweetness of vanilla really floating over the top giving this a girly feel (but not young and immature). It's a smooth, well blended fragrance which is rather unusual and one of the fragrances I would feel comfortable giving to someone who's taste in fragrance I wasn't really sure of because it's so appealing that it's a safe option to buy someone and in my view it's suitable for any woman of any age. It's lovely. Once on the skin I find the fragrance to stay rather strong, (though delicate) for a good couple of hours and after that time it fades down into the background a bit but still lingers on the skin for about 4-5 hours after which it just does a vanishing act, but hey it's not one I mind reapplying so I won't complain about that too much lol! You don't need loads on to get the smell going so this works out to be a rather economical bottle of fragrance all in all. It's simply a rather nice perfume you can't help but love and it does get compliments though it isn't a show stopper or anything! It's a nice, safe perfume for your collection with a fresh, clean girly feel! Can be found in all good chemists etc. My bottle of 30ml cost me £12.00 in Boots but do check out prices on line. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
I've always been a fan of the D&G range of perfumes, my first one I bought was Light Blue, so expect a review about that in the near future! I first bought this perfume from Semi Chem. I find the price of their perfumes resonable, and they are a lot cheaper than Boots. At the time I bought it, it cost £21 for 50ml. You can only buy this in 50ml size. The box is a nice metallic silver and I think it makes it look more expensive. The bottle is a quite thick glass, with a silver ring at the top and a big Silver Lid. To look at the bottle I would say it overall looks dearer than it costs. It just has D&G printed in black on the bottle. Now for the smell, which is the important part. It is very sweet smelling. Someone I know has likened it to Parma Violets or bath salts. So you really need to like a sweet smell to like this. I tend to switch my perfumes now and again, and this is the only sweet smelling one I use. More so at christmas time you can buy this as a gift set. In the set you get the perfume, a 150ml shower gel and a 150ml body lotion. This is what was in the set last year. The set cost £26, so was a pretty good price. I would recommend this, as it's a nice, pretty scent. You'll love it, if you're into sweet smells
Dolche & Gabanna Feminie Perfume I remember being over the moon on one Christmas day when I opened this as a present. I had wanted it for ages after my friend had all of the range and I especially liked most of the scents. The D&G Feminine bottle is clear and glass. It has a thick glass base and is rounded in shape. The bottle has a circular silver lid. It comes within a tall rectangular carboard box which is also silver in colour. The perfume costs around £20-30 pounds in most fragrance shops and also on the Internet. The smell of the perfume is very distinctive and there is nothing on the market alike this smell. It is very musky and does not smell anything like D&G's usual products. You can also purchase body lotions and body washes which are also tinted with this odour. I remember thinking this perfume was lovely and loved the fact that it lasted all day. I overused this product and eventually got sick of it. I still like the scent but if I was to use now I would only use a little tiny bit as this I all you need. This is a great scent , strong and lasts all day. I think this is a young person's fragrance and you would probably not find this on a older person due to the strength of the smell.
I have used D & G Fem for quite a number of years now. Fem is a perfume that can be used daily for work or for going out as although the scent is quite strong at first it mellows into a sexy, musky but light scent that does last throughout the day. Once you have sprayed the perfume on a morning you should not need to refresh it unless you want an extra spray for a night out. As the bottle is quite large it is good that it lasts as you would need a big handbag if you were going to take this out with you. It is good value for money and will last you a while. The modern packaging will appeal to both young girls and women and it is a really nice gift as it is D & G!
DOLCE & GABBANA ------------------------------- Dolce and Gabanna is a fashion company started by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The company is based in Milan Italy. Dolce and Gabanna are most famous for designing clothes for Madonna, Kylie Minnogue and Monica Bellucci. Dolce and Gabanna have also designed arrange of fragrances for men and women. They have also started a children range for teenagers. This review is about the D&G FEMININE perfume. It is marketed as possessing a blend of 'floral top notes of water lily, tangerine and white cyclamen blended with middle notes of lily, mimosa and heliotrope'. The description of this perfume on most shelves in frangrance stores is 'feminine and romantic'. THE PACKAGING -------------------------- The box the perfume came in was very shiny. The box had a silver iridescent glow. The box was glamorous and seemed to change colour from many angles. I am not really the sort of person to buy perfume based on the style of box or bottle especially when it is for myself. This was just as well when I saw the bottle. The bottle is not attractive it's about the same size and shape as a toilet roll tube. The bottle is clear with a yellowish liquid. The lid is silver and cylindrical in shape. On the bottle D&G FEMININE is written on the bottle in bold, black writing. The bottle is fairly misleading as the glass is very thick. It is only a 50ml bottle however you could be led to believe that it contains a lot more. With the metal lid and thick glass it is fairly heavy so therefore is not the type of perfume you would carry in a handbag. I am in need of another bottle and unfortunately cannot find anything smaller than this. THE SCENT ------------------ When first sprayed the spray is quite fast and smells rather strong. The smell does wear off after a few minutes. The scent is very feminine and slightly floral. When I first used it the smell was quite difficult to get used to at first I compared it to the smell of fabric softener and washing powder. It smelt similar to fresh clean clothes from the washing machine. After a few weeks I really fell in love with the perfume. The smell is faint but lasts a very long time. I used to be a huge fan of 'Flowers by Kenzo' and whilst people would comment on it's smell I never received as many comments as I do about D&G Feminine. It is a very relaxed perfume and I would tend to wear this to work, interviews or generally during the day. I would not call it a 'going out' perfume as I like to wear something with a bit of a kick. D&G Feminine is the sort of perfume you can wear and not 'knock someone out' with a strong scent. I feel very confident wearing this perfume mainly due to the many favourable comments received by people. Strong overpowering perfumes can be a little sickening and can put people off however this one is perfect for me. Working as a supply teacher I believe that first impressions are highly important this perfume not only makes me feel confident and professional but it gives a good impression. AVAILABILITY AND PRICE ------------------------------------------------ I must admit I was attracted to this bottle as I had vouchers for D&G fragrances in Boots and they had a good deal on at the time. I think I ended up paying about £7 after discount and vouchers. I am sure this would be a lot cheaper if bought on the internet on a specialist fragrance site. Whilst searching for a new bottle however I have noticed that D&G Feminine has gone up in price and there are fewer bottle on the shelf. I asked in a few places such as Boots, Debenhams and The Perfume Store and been told by all three that Dolce and Gabbana are withdrawing this perfume to make way for a new line. I am quite disappointed with this as I am very fussy when it comes to perfume. I would suggest that you go and buy it soon if you like the sound of it. Moisturiser costs between £15 Shower gel costs about £10 Eau de Toilette costs about £15 for a 30ml bottle, £20 for a 50ml bottle and £35- £40 for a 100ml bottle. SUMMARY ----------------- I would certainly recommend this perfume, it did take a while to get used to and at first can appear very strong and 'off putting' however after a while it is easy to get used to and is very pleasant. This perfume is perfect for the woman 'on the go' and is an ideal perfume to wear during the day. It is however a 'young woman' perfume my mum hated it however we are quite different in taste and style so don't be put off by this. I would advise visiting a fragrance store such as Boots to try it before you buy.
I got this perfume bought for me as a present off my boyfriend. I had never actually smelt it before but was really impressed when i first sprayed it. The smell is quite strong at first but soon calms down. It smells really feminine, sexy and slightly floral. I loved it so much that i tried keeping it for best and not for everyday but that failed as i just loved the smell. Whenever i go out with the perfume on i often get commented by people. The bottle itself is simple but looks great but is not exactly small so may not be advisable to be carrying round in a small handbag. The perfume has lasted me quite a while longer than most other perfumes last me anyway. I can wait to buy myself a new bottle.
