This perfume is so nice! It has a really great fragrance and it is really long lasting! One of my favourite perfume, got a nice sweet and summer scent, perfect for a summer season or all year around!
A truly wonderful, very light and delicious perfume - I have had remarks made about lovely the scent is. I can highly recommend this perfume even though it is slightly expensive. It is worth every penny. A friend told me about it several years ago and I have never stopped using it.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Gift Set smells gorgeous. I really love the scent and reminds me of summer. It comes in a lovely gift box and would make a nice present. The body lotion and perfume both compliment one another. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is one of my favourite scents.
I think the presentation is simple and understated, like the shape and chic design of the bottle and the perfume is divine. After applying this perfume for some reason I always feel clean and more awake. The perfume is subtle but significant and gives a finishing touch to any outfit. People tend to remember the perfume but are not overpowered by it.
I would definitely recommend to a friend of but for a gift! My sister absolutely loves this perfume so i will definitely be buying a few bottles this Christmas!
It is reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other big named perfume brands! Go and buy some, it's lovely!!
I don't have an awful lot of perfume so a few months ago, to say thank you for babysitting her kids for a weekend my close friend bought me this D & G Light Blue Perfume. It was a really nice gesture!
The bottle of mine is simple, nothing exceptional to look at simple a frosted glass in a rectangular shape with a light blue lid. It isn't the most elegant of bottle which is a let down as from D & G I expected something quite fancy!
The scent of the perfume is a bit disappointing as I didn't find the scent really unique and it comes across as a bit of a teenage scent I would have used back in the day. The top notes of the fragrance are apple, lemon and cedar and I definitely find the fruity/citrus scent is predominant and it doesn't have much depth to it at all. It does smell nice and on my lazy days I enjoy to give it a spritz but it isn't my preferred perfume for a date or evening out.
The lasting power however isn't the best, and I find within an hour or so it quickly fades to the heart notes of rose and jasmine, and even with the floral elements the sweet fruity notes still come through, more so than anything which smells remotely floral. It's definitely safe to say that if i spray this in the morning before I leave the house, I can vaguely still smell it seeped into my clothes by midday. Quite disappointing.
The perfume isn't strong in a noticeable way, and it's not really is a bold smell that can put people off, so it is a relatively subtle scent. I would definitely recommend only a squirt or two then wafting through it, so it lingers just the right amount so as to be appreciated and it blends in nicely.
I do think the smell is more a summery scent, and not one I would wear in the autumn-winter period as it isn't warm or heavy enough to have any substance to last in the colder weather. I do quite like this scent, but it is not the best that I have ever had. To purchase a 100ml bottle costs £33.50 which to me is really expensive and not quite worth the money! I would probably not have bought this for my own money as I don't think it is that great a quality. At best it gets 3 stars as it does smell nice but I'm so glad I got it as a gift, as the lasting power isn't the best and the scent itself isn't anything amazing.
Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue
I was lucky enough to be randomly given a bottle of this perfume from my sister in law who had received it as a gift but because she only wears one type of perfume she didn't want it. Normally this perfume isn't especially cheap and you would be looking at spending around the £50 for a 50ml bottle. It's not one I have noticed before in Boots but you can easily pick it up online from a few different places.
The packaging of the bottle is really quite nice and the bottle itself comes housed with a cardboard box which of course has the product logo on the outside but the box is coerced with a velvety feeling type of light blue coloured felt. This is rather unusual and gives the product a luxurious and interesting feel to it. The bottle inside the box is a relative simple yet functional one. It has a blue coloured lid which hides the pump action nozzle and the glass body of the bottle is a cloudy type although you can see the perfume inside the bottle which I always feel is a good thing so that you know when you are running out. So all in all the bottle design is simple yet prace and the outer box has a slightly more plush look than you average box even if I have thrown the box away already.
The perfume itself lives up to its name in so much as the scent feels very light and fresh and reminds me of a crisp spring morning. There are top notes of citrus apple which is light and gives the scent it's crispness. There is a floral fragrance in these fresh top notes as there is jasmine and bluebells two flowers that seems to work well together and mix delightfully with the zesty apple scent of former top notes.
These top notes are replaced with the still rather subtle middle notes of bamboo and white rose which seem to give the scent a little more depth whilst still keeping that light and floral feel, not something particularly easy to do.
The strongest scents and the ones that linger the most are the base notes which are in keeping with the rest of the scent as they are deeper yet still slightly floral with scents of musk and amber these base notes work well with the rest of the scents captured in the fragrance.
The perfume sits nicely on my skin and lasts mostly the whole day as the amber and musk give the perfume it's staying power. It certainly feels like a spring or summer scent as the tones are so fresh and light and it doesn't necessary feel like it is linked to a certain age group as I think women young or old could pass this scent off but it is most definately a day time fragrance.
All in all I think that it is a generally nice perfume. It has a nice light scent but still has good longevity. It is fresh and fun and ideal for the spring days that are upon us. I think a fair score for this fragrance would be a four out of five star rating and the only minus mark is because its not my usual sort of perfume and possibly not one I would buy for myself.
I do hope that this has been of some help or interest to you.
Many thanks for taking the time to read and rate.
This is my favourite perfume to wear during the day time to informal occasions and daily to work. It is a light fragrance, with a flowery smell but also a bit of a lemony tone too. The fragrance lasts all day on me, which is not always the case with other perfumes. I can smell it on my knitwear for days, which means you really get your money's worth. I often get flattering comments from work colleagues or friends about how nice I smell. I like the simply designed bottle, the atomiser works consistently well, even though I am near the bottom of my current bottle and I purchased it about a year ago. I haven't had any problems with staining or marks on any of my clothing, which I have experienced with heavier scented perfumes in the past. I think this scent works well on all ages and suits light hearted, fun loving characters.
This is by far my mum's favourite perfume and I can tell why. It is a lovely scent but not too strong. It is also not too fruity and sweet and so doesnt smell like a childs perfume, but its a far cry from musk and so stops you smelling like an old woman. A 50cl bottle usually lasts a year, as I buy my mum one every year for christmas! She wears it every day and always gets compliments on her smell, as it lasts all day with only a few squirts in the morning on her neck and clothes. It comes in a thick glass bottle with push down sprayer at the top. The outer packaging is a blue velvety box. I recently bought her this perfume ready for christmas and the 50cl bottle cost me £33 from Amazon, which is the cheapest I found while shopping around. You can get a bigger bottle and also a smaller one, and a gift set with shower gel and body cream is also available.
Bought this for a holiday to New York now upon smelling it again, it brings back all the memories of that trip, it is that distinctive.
From the gorgeous soft feel packaging which feels like felt/fur carpet on a box, to the going out handbag friendly size of the bottle: this is a special fragrance.
Spicy, cool, light and strong it is very noticeable. It is one of those fragrances that people can immediately identify by name when someone is wearing it. This initially put me as everyone likes to have a unique scent but the smell of it is so lovely that I did not mind as much.
I would say if perfumes had a season it would definitely be summer. I was particularly impressed with the strength of the perfume, as on looking at the summery looking perfume/packaging etc I expected it to be more watery in a sense and have less substance.
For those who like the perfume to linger and last the whole day without having to bring the bottle out with you for a top-up this perfume is a definite must.
This fragrance is honestly one of the best out there in my opinion!
It has a light, fresh gorgeous scent and stay on for hours!
I always have people asking me what scent im wearing, even the occasional stranger in a shop! you dont need much of it as it can be quite strong when applied too librally! Just a few sqwirts and you'll smell amazingly feminenen all day. It has a bit of a fruity/floral smell and is perfect for wearing on a warm summers day or out in the evening to a dinner party!
Can be quite expensive but honestly is well worth the extra few quid!
Apparently according the the perfume shop website that some of the ingrediants are;
"apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo and white rose. With subtle hints of cedarwood, amber and musk."
Next time you go in to boots or any other store which sells perfume, ask them for a tester stick. I recently bought it for my mum last christmas and she has nearly run out and is hinting for it again next christmas!
If you want to try it out for a bit before purchasing a quite expensive 100ml bottle then just buy the 25ml bottle which about half the price.
Dolce and Gabbana (D&G) is a premium fashion brand. They also offer quite a range of fragrances for men and women.
D&G Light Blue is available for men and women. The female version is presented in Eau de toilette form with matching shower gel, body cream, stick deodorant and a spray deodorant available to layer the scent on the skin.
Light Blue EDT claims to be "a scorching tribute to the sun, sea and sensuality of the Mediterranean". Light Blue claims to capture "sun-drenched summer days and sizzling nights". It is classes as a fresh, floral and fruity scent.
The tinted perfume is housed within a tall, thick, rectangular glass bottle. The bottle has a frosted glass appearance with silver writing confirming the brand and fragrance name. The bottle is completed with a silver band around the neck, a silver spray top and to compliment the fragrance name, a light blue coloured lid.
Light Blue has been created using various sets of fragrance notes. These notes develop as the perfume wears on the skin.
*Top notes offer the initial, shortlived burst of scent - Granny Smith Apple, cedar and bluebell
*Heart notes create the main body of the scent often lasting for a few hours - rose, jasmine and bamboo
*Base notes round of the scent and can sometimes be detected on clothing for a few days - musk, amber and citron wood
Light Blue can be purchased in 25ml, 50ml and 100ml sized bottles.
*Boots : £31.00 - £59.00
*www.escentual.com : £31.00 - £59.00
*www.amazon.co.uk : gift set £31.32
My obsession with perfume began many years ago. It started with cheaper perfumes and really anything that was available in Woolies as my Mum and Dad got a discount in there! One perfume Mum started buying for my sister and I, was D&G Light Blue. At the time a 25ml bottle could be picked up for around £10.00 in Woolies which for such a high classed brand, is an absolute bargain. I believe this fragrance may have been discontinued at some point as it seemed to disappear from the high street. A few years ago, the gift set popped up in Boots at Christmas and the perfume is now available in various outlets again. Perhaps it was back by popular demand but I won't complain!
The price has shot up and I can no longer purchase it from Woolies of course. My sister likes to present me with a bag of various goodies she picks up at carboots most weeks. A few weeks ago, I spied a familiar bottle in my stash. It was an almost full, 50ml bottle of Light Blue! My sister loves me so much! The bottle itself does offer quite a masculine stance being rectangular but the frosted glass and blue lid do soften the appearance allowing it to appear more feminine. The sprayer releases a very fine mist of scent on my wrist and neck and once again, I can be transported to my teenage years.
*~*Light and Fresh*~*
Light Blue is a very addictive scent which is packed full of character. It has the ability to offer images of a hot sun, lovely beach and crystal clear sea. Not many scents offer this but with one spray of Light Blue, I am in a place where I want to be and experiencing Med life through this delightful scent.
From the first spray, the scent opens up to a favourable blend of fragrance notes. Whilst I feel Granny Smith apple is a weird note to use in a Med scent, it works extremely well. The open is attractive and powerful. It is undoubtedly fruity and deliciously sweet but keeps a distinct freshness about it. The apple offers the main body of sweetness being lightened by the subtleness of the bluebell. There is an almost citris infusion within the scent which gives the top notes a vibrancy.
Within 30mins or so, the heart of Light Blue comes into play and is every bit as appealing as the opening scent but completely different. The notes would lead you to believe the heart is floral but it is a pleasant, airy floral blend. The rose comes through first and is delicately floral. The jasmine demands attention and wants to be centre stage but is restrained a little by the bamboo to offer a light sensual sweetness with an almost leafy edge to it. It sounds unusual but the combination of these scents is heavenly. The heart isn't too strong nor does it go undetected by those closest to me. It is just the right level of scent.
Surprisingly, the heart lasts for 4-5hours which to me, is impressive for an EDT and shows its quality well. The base notes of Light Blue have been blended well to round of the scent and allow it to be slightly different to other base combinations. For a further 3hours or so, Light Blue offers the experience of a warm, comforting base thanks to the amber. The musk is barely detectable but the citron woods offer a lively kick to the base and I could grasp a hint of lemon to keep the scent within the bounderies for a Mediterranean inspired scent.
Light Blue is an airy and light scent yet full of aroma as it wears on the skin. It would suit a female of any age in my opinion and is most suited for day time wear. It is a distinctive scent and has the potential to be a signature scent if you become acquainted with it.
I thought my opinion of Light Blue may have altered over the years but I still love it just as much as the first bottle I received as a teenager. It lasts a great deal of time on my skin and is of a high quality. It is a lively scent which makes me feel confident yet feminine and like I am on holiday. The price is expensive but in my opinion, the perfume is well worth it.
I plan on waiting for the gift set to come on sale in Boots this year and asking my fiance to buy it as he knows how much I love it.
Thanks for reading :)
For our first year anniversary, my husband and I went out to buy each other a gift, separately. Well, we must be well suited as I bought him a bottle of Dolce & Gabanna The One and he bought me Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue!
The bottle is presented in a box which feels very nice to the touch - a light blue fuzzy sort of suede. The box bears the familiar Dolce & Gabanna logo and 'light blue' in a soft handwriting font. It also states further down 'eau de toilette' and the amount.
The bottle is a weighty frosted glass, in a tall rectangular shape with a semi opaque light blue lid, which clicks into place and removes entirely. The eau de toilette is dispensed with a silver metallic spray mist, and one pump is sufficient for a decent amount of scent for the decolletage, wrists, hair and general body.
The scent, as the name would suggest, is a light scent with no musky undertones. I am a huge fan of Armani's Aqua Di Gio and I think this is a very similar scent, in that it is light, airy, fruity / citrusy, but a very adult scent, in that the citrus smell isn't over powerful, or cheap like a body mist you'd use as a teenager.
Overall, I'd say this scent is suitable for all, especially those who don't like heavy floral scents, or deep musky ones. As it was a gift, I won't be commenting on the price, I hope you understand, but as a recipient of this scent, I can tell you that I was very pleased to receive it and use it regularly. It's a lovely soft scent which lasts all day, but doesn't overpower - there's nothing worse than being in a lift or a small office with someone who has doused themselves in an overpowering scent! It's almost as bad as a bad smell.
So overall I can only give Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue Eau De Toilette Spray a 5 out of 5 stars as it is a nicely presented designer scent which has mass appeal. You can purchase this in a gift set, with body lotion and shower gel also - a lovely gift for the lady in your life (or yourself!)
If you asked me directly what my favourite perfume is, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you - which is probably why, when it was my birthday recently, my husband took a scientific approach and had a look to see which bottle was most depleted, and this, along with the fact that he likes the way it smells too, is how I ended up with a bottle of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue to replenish my diminishing supply. I generally tend to favour lighter smelling perfumes, which makes this particular one right up my street.
I find that this perfume is great for every day wear, as the name would suggest it's not over-powering for those around you, though it is quite distinctive and fresh. When first sprayed the top notes are quite fruity - cirtrus, apple and bluebells - I'd say the apple is the least obvious scent, it smells quite "clean" and is understated but distinctive. When I have been wearing it a while the middle notes of jasmine and amber kick in and seem to juxtapose off the more fruity smells and, to me, make the perfume seem more grown up and intriguing than the top notes would suggest. As the perfume fades on wear the fruitiness does fade a little - it dries down to a musk end note that personally I like as it gives the perfume roundness and staying power. I don't find it disappears in a few hours' wear, it lingers pleasantly but isn't one of those perfumes that you find yourself smelling all the time to the detriment to everything else all day long.
I find that when I wear this it does fade during the day but not change in smell dramatically - it's the kind of scent I do get complimented on, it's never overbearing or tiresome. When I wear it I find that I can smell it on myself, unlike some other perfumes, but I don't get fed up of it - if I were wearing it during the day it's the kind of fragrance that can go on til the night with the lightest of top ups. Everything about this perfume from the tactile fuzzy blue box, to the reassuringly chunky, simple bottle is simple, appealing and timeless - though it's light enough for Summer wear I think it's perfect whatever the season and the occasion. It's probably why it's been a perennial best seller since it was first launched in 2001 and that I have worn it on and off since then too.
Price wise this comes in at around £25-£30 for 50ml - a little goes quite a long way, and though I have been wearing this a few years, as I have said I don't tire of it. This perfume is available in a range of sizes and also as eau de parfum and other products - highly recommended, a great gift and just a lovely perfume that it's just hard not to like - thinking about it, maybe it just *is* my favourite.....
I always remember the first time i smelt Dolce and gabbanna light blue, was around 3 years ago, when my mum got it for her birthday from her partner and i had ran out of perfume and needed some to wear, so in a typical girl fashion i headed to my mums room and used hers. instantly fell in love with the fragrance, its a fresh but sweet smell i havent found with any other perfume yet. i usually go for a sweet candy young smell but this this perfume is defently the exception.
The bottle is a pretty basic rectangle shape, in a frosted glass with a blue lid. i have to say it looks pretty cheap, Dolce and Gabanna could of tried a bit harder making it look more appealing, but the smell is so nice who really cares.
priced at boots
25ml - £30
50ml - £42
100ml - £55
The price is a pretty much set price but sometimes can get on offer in places light the fragrance shop. i recently purchased a 100ml bottle from the fragrance shop for £44.99 plus it came with a free light blue spray.
I love this fragance i find it a elegant fragrance which is great for everyday use but also great for evennings out as the stays on for a long time.
** Dolce & Gabbana D & G Light Blue **
For my last birthday I received this perfume by Dolce & Gabbana. I am very fond of the bottle of Dolce & Gabbana that you get. The bottle is very beautiful and elegant. The glass is frosted. You can look at the bottle or in the fluid, but not through the bottle itself. The cap is half silver and half blue (light blue). If you get the cap off and you see a silver spray that stands on a light blue piece. The letters are very beautiful done, all in gold. The spray works very well, he spreads a fine cloud of perfume which gives you the perfect amount. Furthermore you can find some other product information on the bottle. The bottle looks so beautiful and chic.
The most important of an fragrance is the smell. The scent of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is very good. The aroma is very fresh and very sweet. The sweet smell reminds me of a field full of sweet fruit with occasional herbal extracts in it. The scent is thus a very particular flavor. Occasionally you can smell some spicy extract, but I find it especially beautiful that I sometimes perceive other sweet tones. Sometimes I smell the sweetness of a passion, and then again comes the fresh sweetness of an apple. The balance of sweetness varies so I really like it. The smell is not too strong, but certainly not weak. The scent of this fragrances remains a very long time. The smell stays with you during the whole day.
I am very pleased with this high quality fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana. The bottle looks very good with the form, the letters, the cap, everything is nicely done. The fragrance is very easy to use, doesn't irritate the skin and you get the right amount when spraying. The smell is very sweet and fresh at the same time. The balance between the different extracts in the fragrance with sweet and freshness is excellent. The price is a bit high with 45 pounds for 120ml but it last for a long time.
* Light blue *
I picked this bottle up at Duty free , thought I'd try something a little different to my normal taste. I got this for £32 duty free but it's normally around £38 in high street for 50ml which is pretty expensive for a perfume.
* Design and packaging *
It comes in a light blue box which is felt!! and the writting on the box is in silver , very classic! The perfume it's self comes in a recangle
and it has a blue cap , simple yet classy bottle design , I like it!
* the scent *
This is a light floral scent with a blend of fruits, It is said to have notes of apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo and white rose. With subtle hints of cedarwood, amber and musk. I can really smell the apple. This can be worn for day time as it's light and not to strong .
* Recommend *
Yes , it's not my ususal scent , I normally go for very sweet perfume but this is really light and I like it. It has a fairly good lasting power as well and I just love the pacaking it comes in.
Im not the biggest perfume wearer i have a few scents that i LOVE and tend to stick to them, and if you ask any of my friends what my signature small is they will definitley say 'Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue'!!!
I recieved my first bottle of this perfume for my 12th birthday it was the first real, designer adult perfumne i ever owned and will probably continue to own until i die!
~ Price & Where To Buy ~
I have purcahsed this perfume from various places over the years and it is available to buy from The Perfume/Fragrance Shop, most department stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser etc as well as being sold in high street stores such as Superdrug, Boots, Bodycare etc. The price varies dramatically depending on the size of the bottle and can vary from around £20-£60 and the bottles tend to be 25ml, 50ml or 100ml. It is also possible to buy shower gel or body lotion in the fragrance, its also possible to buy in a gift set containg both the perfume and the shower gel and lotion. You could argue that it is a bit pricey but i think it's worth it and all designer perfumes are of this same price so this is no different.
The perfume comes in a large rectangular box which is light blue (of course) and also has a slight velvety feel to it. The bottle inside is also a large rectangular shape which is clear on the bottle and has a light blue lid. Both the bottle and the box i think look really apealing and would look good on anyones perfume shelf.
Heart Notes - White rose, bamboo and jasmine.
Top Notes - Apple, lemon and cedar.
Base Notes - Musk, amber and cedarwood.
Scent - Fruity.
Feel - Alluring, cool and refreshed.
~What I Think~
I am not a fan of very overpowering strong scented perfumes, which makes this perfume perfect for me. The scent is very light and floral making it great for daytime wear, the scent lasts pretty much all day which means you dont have to carry a huge bottle of perfume around with you all day to keep reapplying. I am always getting compliements everytime i wear this perfume and as a result i wear it nearly everyday (when i have a bottle in the house). The only thing is i dont think its particularly suited to night time wear it is definitley more of a daytime fragrance.
Can't believe I haven't written about this scent. This is probably my most favourite Perfume out there and was sure I had written about it, but suppose not.
I first tried this around 2003. I had smelt a tester of in in Boots, and decided it was the scent for me. You can get this in 3 different sized bottles as far as I know the 25ml one costs around £15, the 50ml around £24 and the 100ml around £32. These prices are based on semi chem prices which is where I normally get them, or online but if you get this in Boots then it will probably be that bit more.
This is packaged in a blue box. It has a velvet feel to it and the writing is in silver so stands out that bit on the box.
The bottle isn't exactly pretty looking. Just a rectangular bottle which is frosted glass. There is a silver bit around the nect of the bottle and the writing on the bottle but nothing else on it to jazz this up and make it any more interesting. The lid is a blue rectangular shape as well.
So how does this smell? It is lovely. It is quite a strong scent but settles down just nice and the scent lasts for ages afterwards. It is hard to describe the scent. It is fresh but that bit heavier and I woudln't say there is any fruity scents in here. It is just a nice mix of lots of different fresh notes.
Although it is my favourite scent it is really hard to say why. Just think I like these notes the best and this realyl does smell expensive and a designer scent.
Worth a sniff when you are in Boots if they have a tester and highly recommended by me.
