Advantages: smells beautiful, isn't overpowering and last for ages

Disadvantages: the bottle is a bit unimaginative

I never used to be the type of person to go for expensive perfumes-I used to just buy lots of little body sprays and use them because they were cheaper. I certainly wouldn't have been going out and buying Dolce Gabanna perfume. However, when I moved into a house whilst at university, there were a bottle left in my room-there wasn't much left in it, but curiousity got the better of me and so I gave it a spritz. I was so glad that I did!

Light Blue smells cleaner and fresher than any other fragrance I have ever smelt. It has such a light and airy feel about it that whenever I spray it, I feel uplifted, and it always makes me think of spring/early summer for some reason. It has a fresh, lemon/lime type smell, but I wouldn't describe it as 'fruity' as I always find these fragrances to be very overpowering, which Light Blue definitely isn't. It's the perfect perfume to wear during the day as it's quite subtle and not too 'try hard' thought don't let my use of the word subtle confuse you into thinking that it can't be smelt, because you can definitely smell it when you're wearing it, and the smell lasts for hours easily, and that is me using it quite sparingly.

The only issue I have about Light Blue is that I'm not really a fan of the bottle. I like the fact that its simple, because the perfume is nice and light, so a fussy bottle wouldn't really work very well, but I think they could have gone for a different kind of simple. I originally had a small bottle of it, and it was quite cute, but the large bottle pretty much resembles a see through brick with a blue lid-not the most attractive thing. However, the box the bottle comes in is very pretty as its a lovely sky blue colour and has a velvety texture to it-much more exciting than ordinary cardboard!

So, I think it's fair to say that i *love* Dolce Gabanna Light Blue, and if you're looking for a good day time perfume that smells fresh and pretty and elegant, then I think this is the one to go for. I think the smell of it is pretty timeless too, in that it could be used across a wide range of ages-I could definitely see myself wearing it in 10 or 20 years time.

Summary: if you buy this perfume, get it in a set with body lotion and it will last even longer!
