Advantages: Cheaper priced perfume, bottle is portable and good for a handbag
Disadvantages: Scent smells cheap and too musky
This was bought for me as a present by my boyfriends sister. She is a lovely girl don't get me wrong but at times her taste in presents are the opposite of what I would buy. She bought me this perfume for Christmas 2006 and I when I opened my present which was a bottle of perfume by D & G I though eventually she had got it right as the D & G perfumes I has smelt and bought were lovely. I was really looking forward to trying it but oh dear I have used this perfume twice and thrown it in the back of my cupboard.
***Packaging ***
The packaging is very plain. The perfume comes in a Light Blue velvety box with Light Blue written on the front in silver font.
The perfume bottle is also extremely plain and if you are a fan of pretty perfume bottles on your dressing table this perfume is not for you. It's a long rectangular shaped glass bottle. The glass is frosted but the perfume inside which is a clear colour is visible so you can judge how much perfume you have left. Dolce ad Gabanna Light Blue is written on the front of the bottle. The lid of the bottle is light blue coloured plastic top with a silver trim. Very simple packaging which I quite like.
***Price***
The RRP for 50ml is £35.00 and for 30ml its £27.00. I have seen this in shops for £15.00 for 30ml and online the perfume is available at a cheaper price than the RRP. If you compare this with other D&G perfumes and other perfume brands it is slightly cheaper
***Scent ***
The perfume is described as:
"Light Blue is a light floral fragrance in a velvety powder blue box! A blend of flowers and fruity notes: apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo and white rose. With subtle hints of cedarwood, amber and musk"
The perfume is quite a light fragrance and is fruity. I actually could smell quite a lemony smell rather than apple. What I do not like about this perfume that it is not a very fresh scent as it is too musky. I do prefer girly sweeter but fruity perfumes but also like fresh and light scents and this does not tick this box. The scent on me just smelt unnatural and although a light smell far too musky.
This perfume when sprayed on does last all day (which I found quite unfortunate as I did not like it) it reminded me of a body spray I used to buy at Superdrug when I was younger for £0.99, a bit like room spray because of the muskiness.
***Summary ***
I wouldn't recommend this perfume at all. My boyfriend hates it too and his reaction to me wearing it was "why do you smell like an air freshener". After speaking to friends it seems this perfume is a lot like Marmite. From a group of 10 of us, 3 friends absolutely love it and the other seven (including myself) hate the scent and agree it smells "like room spray/ air freshener". Because of the mixed reaction I wouldn't buy this as a gift for anyone as chances are the person may not like it. The bottle is very plain, the scent in my opinion is awful; the only advantage I can see is that the perfume is quite cheap.... But when it comes to buying perfume I would say 80% of the time you get what you pay for and this perfume is cheap for a reason.
Summary: Not a perfume I would recommend EVER!
