A few months ago, I decided to treat myself to a nice perfume for summer, I wanted something fresh and floral that I could wear every day just as a nice treat. I went decided on DKNY after sniffing around Boots for a while because it smelt lovely in the shop and wasn't badly priced. Scent Heart notes Daffodil, Orchid, Water Lily Top notes Blood Orange, Tomato Leaf, Vodka Base notes Birch, Tulip What I Thought I really like this perfume, it has a really fresh and crisp smell to it. It is really feminine and has a citrus and floral mixture of a scent. Whenever I wear this perfume people always complement me on it and say that it smells really nice. I have found that it does not take too much of this perfume to give a good scent, it has quite a strong smell to it, so one or two sprays is really enough, which is great as it means the bottle lasts longer. I found that this perfume lingers quite well throughout the day and lasts long enough that I do not need to re apply it after applying it in the morning. I really like the bottle that this perfume comes in, it is simple, yet stylish. It comes in a parallelogram kind of bottle that is clear and says DKNY Women up the side of it. This perfume comes as a clear liquid which can be seen in the clear bottle, meaning it is easy to tell how much I have used/have left before I need to buy a new one. Price and Availability You can pick this perfume up in Boots, a 30ml bottle is £30 and a 50ml bottle is £42. I decided on the 30ml bottle, but I think that next time I will buy the 50ml bottle as it works out better value and I do not think I could ever get sick of this scent. Overall I think that this is a lovely perfume, it smells amazing and isn't too badly priced. This perfume is nice to wear every day, but also smells nice enough to wear on special occasions. Overall I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. *also on ciao under lorrainek90
DKNY (Donna Karan New York) is a fashion brand. They currently offer a few different fragrances for men and women with the most popular and extensive range being the Delicious fragrances. *~*DKNY Women*~* This particular scent is available in an Eau de parfum, lighter Eau de toilette and a matching body lotion for layering the scent onto the skin. DKNY Women claims to capture "the scent, soul and spirit" of New York. This review discusses my use of the EDP spray. *~*Design*~* The slender glass bottle housing this scent, is a sort of slanted, rectangular shape and is completed with a click on lid. The main body of the bottle offers a frosted effect front and back panel with clear sides and "Women" is engraved onto the front. Removing the lid reveals a silver spray top. *~*Scent*~* DKNY Women is likely to fall into the "fresh floral" category of perfumes. The actual scent notes that are blended together, become apparent on the skin throughout the day. *Top notes - citrus, tomato leaves, chilled vodka *Heart notes - coral orchid, daffodil and water lily *Base notes - tulip tree wool and white birch *~*Price*~* DKNY Women EDP is available on the high street and online in size 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. Current prices are as follows : *Boots - £17.66/£40.00/£57.00 *www.escentual.com - £29.00/£40.00/£57.00 *~*My Thoughts*~* When I think of DKNY, I think of those pretty, apple shaped bottles and find their fragrances to be of a decent quality and rather unique in scent. DKNY Women isn't one I personally purchased. I was given a partially used 30ml bottle from my Mum during a recent clear out. She found it a little "young" for her personal tastes and felt it would suit my younger skin a bit better. The bottle is fairly attractive. It has a modern appearance and the frosted glass looks quite chic. On spraying this EDP, a fine cloud of scent settles on my skin. I usually find one spray on the wrists and two around my neck is sufficient as at first, the scent in very overpowering. Within a minute or so, the scent settles and I begin to detect some individual notes. *~*Citrus Fresh*~* As the scent settles on my skin, I strong wave of citrus freshness presents itself. I find it to be a little aritificial and from what I can pick up on, there are hints of lemon present. Whilst I am not familiar with vodka being used in many fragrances, I could pin point it within the top notes. In all honesty, I feel the combination of lemon and vodka allowed the scent to appear rather cheap and unpleasant. The combination when including the tomato leaves, was rather artificial smelling. The only aspect that appealed was the light airy undertone about the scent and without this, I feel the top notes would be completely unbearable. After a hour or so, the top notes wear off and I can't say the heart appealed either. There wasn't much to it to be honest. It is a very light blend of notes with the main scent being floral based. It is a weird combination of floral notes which aren't popular in many fragrances. I found the aritificial lemon from the top notes surrounding the heart and blended with the florals, it reminded me of some sort of lemon liquid for cleaning the home. Luckily this EDP doesn't linger on the scent long before settling down to the base notes. Not much to improve the overall scent. There is that distinct, awful lemon lingering again and this time, it is joined by a subtle, earthy note. The scent sits incredibly close to the skin for an hour or so then thankfully, disappears from my skin. *~*Conclusion*~* For an EDP, DKNY Women is simply too light. It lacks the neccessary qualities to allow it to be a decent, premium fragrance worthy of its price tag. I do feel had the scent being a little stronger, it would have smelled even worse as its very fake and cheap in scent. The recommended scent notes would convince you that this scent would be a pleasing fresh, alcohol tinged scent but really, it doesn't impress at all. It doesn't last all that long which is ideal for me. If you do like it, it would be light enough for a day time scent. I will probably use the rest of my bottle up spritzing around the house or pass on to a friend (she doesn't care what perfume she wears). Overall, I cannot really recommend DKNY Women. It has the potential but is dramatically let down. Thanks for reading :)
I received this perfume as a gift about eight years ago and have been buying it regularly ever since then. The DKNY Women Original Eau de Parfum was first launched in 2000 and has been one of their top selling perfumes ever since. DKNY stands for Donna Karan New York who is the famous fashion designer Donna Karan, she founded the company in 1988 and it is now owned by Louis Vuitton. The company base is in none other than, New York and they create fashion clothing, bags, shoes, jewellery and fragrance among other things. The DKNY women original fragrance has a striking bottle, almost reminiscent of a New York sky scraper, being tall and thin with sharp edges. The bottle is a diamond shape that gives it these sharp corners and is made of clear glass with a frosted glass back with newer bottles being completely clear (I tend to have a lot of perfumes so they last me ages). The top of the bottle has the cap which is the same streamlined shape as the bottle and clips onto the top of the perfume, protecting the spray nozzle. The DKNY branding is written boldly across the bottle with 'women' written in smaller font. The box for this product is skin tight to the bottle, almost like a sleeve that slides off and reveals the perfume and totally matches the bottles writing and style. The bottle shape and style is perfect for keeping track of how much perfume you have left and looks very sleek and elegant. The perfume itself is a very clear, lustrous liquid with a slight tinge of the palest yellow which reminds me of spring and summertime. The top notes of this perfume are; Blood orange, Mandarin, chilled Vodka and ripe tomato leaf (slightly bizarre if you ask me, but they work!) The second notes are; Yellow waterlillies, green coral orchids and daffodils And base notes of; White birch and tulip tree bark. As you can tell from the ingredients list, this is not for women who want a passionate and bold smell; it is quite floral and fresh feeling. This is an energetic fragrance that really awakens the senses throughout the day with strong bursts of citrusy scents. On application you know that this fragrance is going to be long lasting and intense, the tones are very strong and potent, but in a nice uplifting way. I would say this is perhaps a younger smelling perfume that is pretty enough to be worn during the day but bold enough for an evening out too. For a long lasting application it is best to spray your perfume behind the ears, on the wrists and opposite side of your elbows for a fuller and enduring fragrance. I have found that this is a particularly long lasting wear compared to my other fragrances and this along with the price tag makes it great value for money. Current prices in Boots are; 30ml - £26.50 50ml - £40.00 100ml - £57.00 Thanks for reading :)
I've always been pretty jealous of people who have a 'favourite' or 'signature' fragrance which they wear religiously and only deviate from for alternative occasions like an evening out or a holiday. I tend to just wear what I think smells nice when I go to the fragrance counter. From time to time I will smell a scent on someone and after taking their recommendation I buy it but it always smells different and I end up giving it away or selling it on eBay. I have a shelf full of different bottles and find that by the time I have driven from home to work, the smell has faded and I get pretty disappointed! I guess the underlying motive for my testing, chopping and changing is my need for a smell which I can associate with me. My Nanna used to be a Coty L'Aiment Creamy Skin Perfume fan and now whenever I smell it I think of her. When my cousin told me she'd won a bottle of DKNY Woman Original I begged her to swap with me for a limited edition alternative I'd been bought of the same fragrance for Christmas. I'd made the classic mistake of smelling it on a tester card in the store and choosing it, but it smelt completely different on me and it made me sneeze! So she did swap with me and when I sprayed it on to me, I finally decided this was it - my signature scent - no more switching and picking up anything that takes my fancy at the time. Sure I'll buy a few alternatives for special occasions but this is definitely the one I want the people around me to smell and think of me. Let me tell you why. The scent comes in a stylish, simple, cool bottle with the DKNY logo emblazoned in block caps slightly off centre, bottom of the bottle up over. It's a newer design, previously it was a frosted glass bottle, but now it's transparent, revealing the clear liquid fragrance. It comes in a white and silver box and the stylish design emanates cool city skylines. It looks every inch the essence of the glamour and slick city girl Donna Karen's label represents. The fragrance has top notes of blood orange, chilled vodka, orquideas (orchids) and tomato leaf, mid notes of yellow water lilies, narcissus, green coral orchids and daffodils. The base notes are (weirdly) fresh laundered t shirt, wet cobblestones, white birch and tulip tree bark. Now I'm not entirely sure I like to smell of wet cobblestones. Perhaps fresh rain, but not muddy rotten cobbles! And fresh laundry isn't odd, but specifically t shirts? For me, the fragrance has top notes of Greengrocers (oranges, tomato and chilli), mid notes of Hotel Chocolat (mixture of dark, milk and white chocolate) and base notes of All Saints in Camden (fresh, pressed clothes which have taken on the scent of the store, muddled in with the vintage atmosphere). There's hardly a floral bouquet in it, but it is classed as a floral fragrance and it's not a woody, spiced scent either. It's a culmination of the two, without being either, with a little spring rain thrown in to the mix. So in addition to the stylish bottle, it's a classically stylish fragrance too. Applied to my skin it reminds me of hot chocolate with crystallised orange. Perfectly edible! It's got staying power too. I spray it on in the morning and not only because it's EDP rather than EDT but also because of its distinctive quality, I still get comments by the evening on how good I smell which is just what I wanted. The final selling point for me is the price. At an RRP of £57 for a huge 100ml bottle it's also pretty darn cheap. You can even sometimes pick up the 30ml bottles for around £19 online which I reckon is an absolute bargain for a handbag sized spray. I highly recommend it, and I'm not precious about people taking my signature smell - it might smell like wet cobbles on you! ;o) Available at all great department stores and online at all the usual places, Amazon, eBay and cheapsmells all have pretty low prices right now, including £46 for 100ml on Amazon.
** DKNY: DKNY Women, Eau de Parfum ** DKNY fashion line was created in 1988 by Donna Karan. This includes a young fashion clothing for men and women, trendy accessories and a matching perfume line that includes various types. Her first fragrance, Eau de Parfum Donna Karan was introduced in 1992. The DKNY fragrance line was a solid success especially with the DKNY Be Delicious fragrance. Currently you have a wide choice of beautiful perfumes and eau de toilettes. The parfum is a white translucent fragrance that comes across as very fresh and flowery. Personally I recognise the smell of the fresh scent of lilies and the citrus and a woody base. It has a light sensual exotic tough. The parfum consists of an exciting blend of citrus, icy vodka and tomato. To finish you get a sensual blend of white birch bark and bark of the tulip tree. The main notes include: citrus, icy vodka and tomato leaf The heart or middle include: water lily, green coral orchid and daffodil. And the base consists of: white birch bark and bark of the tulip tree. It is a very successful mixture that is timeless and a truly fresh and feminine scent. It has an exotic and dynamic touch. A parfum is normally stronger then a eau de toilette and you only need to spray a little bit which will last you the whole day. The best way to apply the parfum is to spray a little bit behind the ears, on the neck and the inside of your wrists. At least that's something I do and it always gives me the feeling that it's spread nicely over my body. With this parfum it's really that you don't need much since it's quite a strong smell but not really heavy because at the same time it's fresh and flowery. Just don't spray to much because then it can be overpowering and that people can smell you from a far distance. It is a stylish, young and very dynamic fragrance. It is a floral scent that is fresh and has a woody background. It is money more than worth. The perfume is available in a 30 ml vial which makes it easy to take with you. You can buy the parfum for around 30 pounds.
DKNY Classic is said to be 'a blend of blood orange and chilled vodka, water lilies and white birch'. That description is irresistible enough, but doesn't even do the scent justice. This fragrance has been around for a while now; I myself have been wearing it for almost 10 years. That should tell you something - I have tried several perfumes over the years, but I always go back to this one. Anything else I wear doesn't 'feel' right and friends always comment that the smell of this perfume reminds them of me... so DKNY Classic is a real statement perfume. Its citrussy fragrance is fresh and clean smelling. This makes it an ideal perfume for wearing during the day, yet it is also strong enough to be suitable for nighttime. I have received loads of compliments on the scent, and have been asked many times what perfume I'm wearing. The bottle is understated and chic. It looks classy rather than gaudy and tacky like some brightly coloured perfume bottles are. Like I said, I have worn this perfume for many many years. I don't even bother trying out new perfumes anymore as DKNY Classic is just 'me'. I can't praise it highly enough!
I love this perfume! It is very long lasting and very cheap for an eau de parfum. The scent lasts for hours, unlike a lot of the more expensive brands out there. Feminine, strong, yet not girly. <a href="http://www.mallroad247.net/home/Womens-Fragrances-1-p42.html"> Fragrance Outlet</a>
I first got this perfume as a gift for my 18th birthday, and have loved it every since. The bottle itself is simple but stylish, it's tall and sleek...it's a frosted glass bottle with silver letters spelling DKNY. It comes in a mirrored effect box. Now to the smell.... and this has to be one of the nicest smelling perfumes I've tried. It has a really lovely sweet yet citrus, tangy smell... but it's a really fresh uplifting smell that reminds me of summer! Every time I wear this fragrance.. I always get comments/compliments and the people I know of, always end up buying it. The price does vary a little but probably best to buy online as you will more than likely get a better deal a typical 50ml bottle at boots is about £35. When you first spray, the aroma is strong and is just bursting out with that refreshing smell but you do find that you need to top it up with a respritz after a few hours.. as those strong armoas start to settle down Regardless of this.. that smell is worth it.. and it really picks me up! Great for a day to day perfume!
My auntie bought me some DKNY women perfume last year for Christmas. It wasn't a fragrance I had seen or tried before and so I was looking forward to trying it. The perfume is packaged in a silver box which is mirrored and it does look quite nice on the outside. The DKNY women fragrance comes in a simple looking frosted glass long bottle which simply states the women name at the bottom of the bottle. Whilst the bottle is quite simple and understated it does look quite trendy as well as it is quite sharp with its straight lines and almost diamond shaped long bottle. There is a clear lid on the bottle and through this you can see the spray. The fragrance to me is quite floral, and is possibly too floral for me. I do like fragrances which are light, fruity and fresh quite often and I thought that this one would be like those but it is a bit too floral for my liking. The scent is not unpleasant, just not one that I would choose to go out and buy for myself again. I am a bit rubbish when picking out individual scents in fragrances and so when I researched the notes in this perfume I have to say I was quite surprised, particularly by the top notes which include vodka! Heart notes: Daffodil, Orchid, Water Lily Top notes: Blood orange, tomato leaf, vodka Base notes: Birch, tulip The fragrance is apparently inspired by the spirit and energy of New York and is designed to make you feel sexy and feminine as well as energised. I can't say that this fragrance really did any of those things for me personally though. Sometimes when I apply a perfume it will make me feel sexy or more attractive but this did not happen with this one. The fragrance does last well it has to be said and I found that I could smell the perfume for a good few hours after applying it, although as with most perfumes if I were to be going out I would always reapply it so it would last throughout the full day. I would say though that you don't need to use much of the perfume on each application though as it really is quite strong initially and so a bottle is likely to last well. If you are interested in buying this perfume you can currently pick a 30ml bottle up in boots for £17.00 which includes a saving of £7.00 so it is not an overly expensive fragrance when on offer like this. Whilst I wouldn't buy this again for me personally I would not say I don't recommend it as I feel it is hard with perfumes as we all like different things so if you feel this would be one for you then go out and buy some! Thank you for reading my review!
Donna Karan has created a number of perfumes for both men and woman, but I would say that DKNY Woman is probably her signature scent and is definitely my favourite. Everyone likes to try different smells and you might even buy another fragrance, but there is always one that you go back to time and again and DKNY Woman is that perfume for me. It comes in a silver frosted glass bottle that is tall and thin. The scent is supposed to encompass summer in New York and that theme starts with the bottle itself, which looks like a skyscraper - I assume that is the idea behind it anyway. It certainly stands out from other bottle designs, making it easy to pick out at the shop. Its design also makes it easy to carry around - it fits perfectly in your handbag without taking up too much room, especially if you buy the 30ml bottle (it also comes in 50ml and 100ml). The scent itself is lovely. Like I said, the idea is that it captures the energy of New York in the summertime. I personally always imagine New York to smell like exhaust fumes and hot dogs and would certainly not want to smell like that, but I assume the 'energy' to which they refer comes from Central Park or somewhere equally pleasant, where the smell must be both more fruity and flowery! The scent is actually classed as a floral fragrance, with notes of orchideas narcissus, daffodils and white birch but I think the twist of orange and tomato leaf gives it a much lighter and fruity smell that makes it perfect for use both in the day and at night. The perfect balance of the different notes mean that it really is a perfume that you can wear all year round. The underlying floral smell means that it is lovely and strong for the winter months when you want a gentle reminder of the summer, but its bold fruity top notes gives it that perfect summer smell. The eau de parfum is quite long lasting - I can usually still smell it a good few hours after I've sprayed it. Although you can't always smell it on yourself, my sister always wears it and I can still smell it on her hours after she puts it on. It's a winner with my other half too, who has a bit of an issue with perfumes; he finds that they sit heavily on the back of his throat and that they are overpowering. This isn't the case though with DKNY Woman as it is a light and crisp scent that doesn't overpower. Price wise, this perfume is a good buy - you can buy the 30ml bottle from around £15 online, although it is a little more expensive in the stores. It is also such a popular fragrance that you won't have any trouble finding it - it's definitely available in places like Boots, The Perfume Shop and the like. The price also means that it makes a perfect gift idea - I personally have bought it for my sister, my cousin and my niece, all of whom have loved it. Overall, I have to say this is my favourite perfume - it smells lovely, is available at a good price and comes in a conveniently shaped bottle.
Well this is a perfume I fell in love with back in my high school days, and still wear to this day. First off DKNY stands for Donna Karen New York, and was the designer's first signature scent. The box, and bottle are rather bland in apperance, but scent definitely makes up for this. The bottle is a tall, sort of diamond shaped frosted glass, although the glass is transparent enough to be able to see when your running low, and has your average plastic lid, that you pop off, to reveal the vapourizer. The scent inside is gorgeous, and has a very fresh, funky and young feel to it, and is suitable for either day or evening wear. Top Notes: Blood orange, tomato leaf, vodka Middle Notes: Waterlily, orchid, daffodil Base Notes: Birch, tulip Although the blood orange is definetly the most prominant throughout wear, and gives of a beautiful citrusy, tangerine style aroma. This perfume is widely available, and is definetly one of the classics. Pricing has went down slightly over the years too, and is now available for around £17 for the 30ml, £35 for the 50ml and about £50 for the 100ml. It is also an Eau de Parfum, so consumers should be expecting to pay a bit more than for an Eau de Toilette, as EDP is better quality fragrance than EDT. This perfume is also available in a gift set, and the perfume shop sells, the accompanying body lotion and body wash individually. In my opinion I would say this perfume is aimed towards the younger generation, but the delightful fragrance makes it suitable for all ages.
This has to be my favourite perfume of all time. I have never found a perfume that I like as much as this one. You know the saying, if you can't smell it on yourself than it is the perfuma that most compliments you?? Well this is my perfume. It is a wonderful fragrance by Donna Karan New York, and what I believe to be the best one of all the range of perfumes. This is not like the typical flowery, grandma smelling scent you seem to get every time you test a bottle in the store. You all know the smell I am talking about. How does this perfume differ you may ask...well I have never smelt a perfume similar to this one, this one is unique so I have found. Which obviously appeals. It is also very distinctive so usually when wearing the perfume people can recognise it straight away. It is perfect to be worn through the day as a summery fragrance but can be worn on an evening as a more sultry smell. This perfume was supposed to have been inspired by the 'spirit and energy' of New York City. I have never been to New York so cannot rate on if this idea is successful or not but what I can say is that the fantastic smell of vine ripe tomato leaf infused with cool vodka and a hint of blood orange....strange combination.....but it works....wonderfully! Like a little party in your nose :P The only downside I can say about this DKNY perfume is that if you misjudge and spray a little too much it can be quite over facing. I have fallen victim to this once or twice and my mother is always the first to comment on how she feels like she is eating the perfume. The bottle is pretty standard in comparison to some of the other DKNY bottles that have been released. It is a slim and tall glass bottle with frosted glass down one side and a small DKNY logo. I once heard that the bottle was designed to represent the Twin Towers, how true this is I do not know. The bottle comes in a mock mirror type of box. The silver shimmer is a nice touch but again isn't really anything spectacular compared to some of the packaging that has been released for other fragrances. The packaging doesnt really do the product any justice. But its whats on the inside that counts, right? And this perfume is definatley the best by far. I have previously been confused as to what the title of this perfume is. Others such as Be Delicious have obvious name choices. But I have come to realise that this is simply self titled DKNY. May be me having a dizzy moment, but if I wasnt to include this in my review then I would be preventing you from having a giggle at my expense. The price of this purfume does vary as it is available at many low cost perfume stores. However, do watch out for immitations as this perfume is high on the list of fakes and frauds. The price you will be looking to pay for the different sizes are as follows: 30ml bottle........................£26 50ml bottle........................£35 100ml bottle......................£51 These prices are somewhat discounted online. The price may seem a little high but for quality goods sometimes you need to dig deep. I find that using once or twice a day the 50ml bottles last me about a month or so. I did purchase one for a 2 week holiday and was using it excessively, this lasted the full 2 weeks and for a following 1 week when I was home. So it is good quality for money. And maybe a good idea for a Birthday or Christmas gift. I know I tend to treat myself to DKNY so I feel like I have something special rather than buy it all the time.
I've been saving up a while now (yes saving up because I'm still in school so can't get a job!) to buy a nice perfume that will hopefully last me a while. So when I finally had enough money, the DKNY Women was the perfume I chose! -How much did it cost me? For a 50ml bottle it cost me £35 from Boots, but I believe you can find it much cheaper elsewhere. -What versions of DKNY Women can you buy? DKNY Women comes in many different ranges: Eau De Parfum 30ml, 50ml or 100ml. Women Deodorant Spray. Women Body Lotion. Women Shower Gel. -Top Notes. Blood orange, Vodka and Tomato Leaf. -Middle Notes. Waterlilies, Coral Orchids and Daffodils. -Base Notes. Birch and Tulip. I find that the perfume is has a very citrus-y aroma to it, and mainly lemon although it mentions orange in the 'Top Notes'. Overall a very fresh and unique scent that I love! As soon as you spray it, the whole room seems to smell of the gorgeous fruity scent, and whenever I wear it I always get compliments asking what perfume I have. Unfortunately after a few hours the smell dies down and I always feel the need to re-spray and the shape of the bottle isn't the best to carry around with you! -The Packaging. The bottle of perfume is always the first thing that catches my eye, so obviously, it has to have a nice bottle for me to even think about picking it up! The DKNY Women perfume comes in a tall rectangular shape bottle, which is made of frosted glass and the simple text 'DKNY' written on the lid. Simple, but stylish. -My Opinion. If you have the time to re-apply this throughout the day as it will need to be, I would definately recommend buying this perfume, as it is very unique and an everyday perfume. Although the scent may not be to everybody's taste.
I have so many lovely bottles of perfume propping up my crowded dressing table, but this one really stands out due to both its unique fragrance and also its stature! The perfume is housed in a tall, rectangular bottle which is angled giving it an interesting shape. The angles and dimensions are quite sharp giving it a severe, almost diamond like appearance, apart from its height. The liquid is super pale, almost clear which adds to the clean, modern appearance, giving a nice first impression of a perfume which sets itself apart from the piddly little bottles it looks down upon. DKNY Women has top notes of Blood Orange, Tomato leaf and Vodka, middle notes of Water Lily, Corall Orchid and Narcissus, and base notes of Tulip and Birch. This creates a heady mix of citrus and woody scents which merge to become a tantalising and unusual perfume. I personally find this fragrance more citrus based than anything else, and love the fresh, tangy aroma. Even though lemon is not mentioned as an ingredient, I do find this a little lemony, but not in a sickly, sweet way. Once sprayed onto the skin, DKNY Women acts as an instant refresher and almost tingles and fizzes due to its dazzling mixture of contrasting, yet complimentary notes. The only trouble is the scent wears off fairly quickly and I definately need to re-apply within a couple of hours. This is a shame as I only own the big bottle of this and its nowhere near compact enough to slot into my bag. So I only get to re-apply it at home but on the plus side this bottle has lasted years as a result! If I'm being really picky the size of the bottle is a bit of an issue for me, as while it is easy to identify and grab in a hurry, its height and design also means my fumbly hands manage to knock it over several times a day and I have gave up trying to retrieve the lid a long time ago. These are small gripes though when compared to how much I love this crisp scent. It is very evocative of balmy summer evenings and always puts me in a good mood. The blurb is that DKNY Women "gives the effect of cut grass in central park. Inspired by the spirit and energy of New York." While i'm not sure this is what I smell, I do agree it is a fresh, clean, modern and very agreeable fragrance. I would think this is a feminine fragrance but it is also uncompromising and does not really have many of the floral tones traditionally associated with girlie perfumes. To me it screams confidence and strength of character and is very different from some of the softer, more romantic products on the shelves. I absolutely rate this as one of my favourite perfumes, however the staying power is disappointing. It is well priced, costing around £30 for 50ml and £24 for 30ml.
I so love this perfume! This is my signature scent, all my friends say that when they smell it they immediately think of me. Apparently the base notes of this perfume include vodka! and orange/citrus. Now that doesn't sound great, but trust me it is. I would be of the opinion that this would be a 'younger' scent, although other reviewers seem to think differently so that is just my personal thoughts. If you like strong and long-lasting perfume, this would certainly be for you. I like to be able to smell my own perfume, and I can still get the scent of this one at the end of the day/ night. The main reason I like this perfume is that is so distinctive, completely different and unique, unlike many of the more flowery perfumes out there at the minute. I would recommend testing this on yourself, wear it around all day and see if it's a good scent for you before purchasing.
