I thought I was finished in reviewing all of my perfumes... however I opened a drawer in my spare bedroom and was pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of DKNY Women in there. It's a perfume that I really like and I'm not entirely sure why it was in a drawer hidden away... maybe so my friends can't use it when they are staying over.


Packaging
The perfume bottle is very plain and simple but it does look very nice on a dressing table (rather than stuffed in a drawer). The bottle is long and thin rectangular shaped bottle. The edges of the bottle are quite strong lines and sharp rather than it looking like a rounded girly type bottle.

The bottle is made from frosted glass with a white tint to it however still is opaque so you can see the perfume inside. The perfume inside is visible which is a light coloured liquid. The lid of the bottle is a frosted colour with DKNY women written on in plain silver font. The bottle is plain but looks special on a dressing table especially as the light shines through and makes the bottle look almost crystal like.


Price

I bought this from Boots and paid £28.00 for 50ml. The RRP is £30 for 50ml and £22.50 for 30ml. For 30ml I have seen the perfume available for £16.50 and £22.00 for 50ml on cheapscents.com. Again its quite reasonably priced and lasts for a long time as it is quite a strong smelling perfume so a few sprays goes a long way hence why my bottle has lasted so long.


Scent

The official description of the scent is :

"DKNY for Women is a luxurious combination of exotic florals, natural earthy tones and deep scents of patchouli, amber and sandalwood."

The scent of this perfume is extremely unique and very fresh. When the perfume is first sprayed it smells quite sweet but as the initial scent dies down there is a very strong citrus smell which remains on the skin throughout the day. The smell that I think is most noticeable is a lemon type smell. Because the scent is so fresh it is definitely more of a day time perfume rather than a night time/ special occasion perfume.

The citrus and fruity smell is very strong initially even when a little amount of perfume is sprayed on the skin. The strength of the perfume does die down slightly but if you do put too much of the perfume on it will be too overpowering. Because of the strength of the perfume it does not need spraying on again.


Overall

Personally I really like this perfume and most of my friends do but I have met a few people including my mother that hate this perfume! Giving perfume as a gift can be quite difficult as everyone has their own tastes. With DKNY Woman, my advice would be only to buy it as a gift for someone who has actually stated they like it as otherwise I don't think it's a "safe" perfume and its very distinctive in its scent. The scent is very fresh and has a strong clean citrus smell. It's definitely a perfume to wear during the day but my advice would be to only put a small amount on as the perfume is very strong and it is easily for the smell to be overpowering, especially for other people around you.

Summary: A unique smelling fragrance in a simple but pretty bottle
