I wore Dune religiously throughout my late twenties and early thirties. I stopped wearing it a couple of years ago because I felt it was becoming a bit dated, but I'm sure for some people it has, or will, become 'their' classic signature scent. It is currently selling for around £30.00 for 30ml.

Packaging - Dune comes in a dark peach box, robust and good quality, with a corrugated inner box. The bottle is a pleasant curvaceous shape and easy to handle, with a little gold cap. The overall impression is of a good quality fragrance and it would make a lovely gift.

Product - For me the fragrance is soft, warm and comforting. It has clear floral top notes, distinctive jasmine and bergamot. Underlying this floral scent is a base layer of musky warmth. I think this is primarily amber and sandalwood. It is an easily identifiable fragrance, and one that brings back many happy memories for me. I think of it as a fantasy fragrance, it tempts you to close your eyes and imagine yourself in the old Turkish Delight advert! It is a very long-lasting fragrance; I would frequently fall into bed after a late night, and still be able to smell it clearly the following morning! This makes it great value for money, as you only need a small amount, but it is easy to use too much and run the risk of overpowering everyone else you come into contact with!

Pros - A lovely warm fragrance, plenty of staying power, good value as a little lasts a long time.

Cons - A little dated.
