Advantages: Sweet smell, lovely bottle
Disadvantages: Young, sickly
Fantasy is a perfume that was released by the world famous pop star Britney Spears in 2005.
It has a really gorgeous design, coming in a very indulgent looking, round, pink, glass bottle with tiny diamantes dotted across it. It has a jewelled neck and globe-like lid. It looks adorable on a dressing table and reminds me of old school glamour, but in a funky and girly way. The bottle comes inside a beautiful box which has swirls of colour and a shiny pink metallic swathe down the centre.
According to the Britney Spears Beauty website, Fantasy is 'a magic love potion of sweet temptation that leaves a tantalising trail of embracing sensuality'. It is made from a mix of red lychee, golden quince, exotic kiwi, cupcakes, white chocolate orchid, jasmine petals, creamy musk, orris roots and woods.
This is quite a cocktail of sweet smelling scents and they all combine together to create a very strong, intense smell which reminds me of candy floss and sugar. It smells almost edible, and at first I loved it, but after a while it does get a little sickly. It also smells quite young. It has a decent staying power but after a few hours you will probably want to reapply.
I think this would suit a young girl as one of her first perfumes, or a very feminine, sweet young woman if she was going out for the evening in the summer. It is not really the sort of perfume that you'd expect to find on a successful businesswoman during a day at the office though.
You can buy this perfume from Boots. It costs £21.53 for 30ml, £24.25 for 50ml or £38.17 for 100ml. You can also buy it in sets with body lotion or similar products.
Personally I prefer Midnight Fantasy as it is a bit more sophisticated and not quite as sickly sweet. Britney is also now in the process of releasing the new Hidden Fantasy which I look forward to trying.
Summary: Probably aimed at someone younger than me!

- 16/02/09 I do like this but I disagree about the bottle - I think it's very plastic-y and tacky looking. |

- 16/02/09 My daughter has this and Curious - she loves them both and I hate them. We did try Hidden Fantasy at the weekend and much to my surprise I liked it! |
