Re - Reviewed 12/10/12
Now this review may sound very similar to another review I have just done which is Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy; the reason behind this is as follows. As I would describe it as that Britney Spears brought out a perfume named Curious (which I am not a fan of at all; however I'm sure I will indicate this in another review sometime) She then brought out Fantasy, which I am about to review and just very quickly after this, Midnight fantasy. These 2 fragrances are extremely similar not only in bottle design but scent and the product name too. So if you see some similarities between these 2, then hopefully this brief explanation will now have informed you why. I so very often swap and change from products; whether this be perfume, makeup, skincare, haircare; you catch my drift. Now in my opinion If I buy anything more than once then for me I definitely am fond of this, and it's made an impact on me in a positive way. I have gone through numerous amounts of this product 100ml bottles, 30ml bottles, it's one of 2 fragrances (the other being Calvin Klein Euphoria) that my mum knows I like and she can't go wrong in picking up a bottle of this stuff.
The Brand & Value
Yes this is branded by Britney Spears and I was dubious at first, however this didn't bother me at all once I smelt the product, and I don't think people should be put off by this. I have seen a few reviews on here were the title of the review has had some (in my opinion) mean and slightly harsh comparisons to the product and the lady herself. At the end of the day I feel a stigma comes attached to celebrity perfumes in general these days and some people automatically dismiss the product immediately because of who it has on the packaging. At the end of the day so many celebrities, reality stars and even the tv shows themselves are making perfumes and merchandise that it almost seems part of package to expect this. Britney has been around for years, I remember singing and dancing to her songs growing up as a child and what I will say about the whole perfume brand is that she has got to be up there with some of the first celebrities / singers to start the whole perfume craze. I feel the value for money of this product is great, please find below some current price rates available as of 12/10/12:
* Fragrance Direct = £26.99 = 100ml
* Fragrance Direct = £13.95 = 30ml
* Superdrug = £22.99 = 30ml
* Superdrug = £21.99 = 50ml
* Superdrug = £24.99 = 100ml
* Superdrug = £19.99 = Giftset 30ml perfume and 2 x 50ml body products
^^ I can't quite grasp the pricing of the above 2 bottles, the larger bottle is cheaper and you can see that the gift set with more products in is actually even better value yet. Hmm this just goes to show some stores choice of marketing.^^
I have actually got some better deals with this perfume in this past, this includes a 100ml bottle for £15-£20 and also the smaller 30ml bottles for £12.99 (I must have been a real bargain hunter at the time)
Scent & Lasting Power
The smell is extremely sweet and noticeable; I wear this a lot and would say it is my signature scent; I get recognised for this all the time in work and colleagues (male colleagues) even know this is Britney Spears that I'm wearing, I wear it that often. The perfume is a EDP which means it is longer lasting, and it really does make the difference I feel as I spray this perfume and I know it's scent will still be around hours later. As I have recently reviewed the follow up to this fragrance I shall try my best to compare the two. I'm not the best at describing scents so I do apolise. This fantasy scent is in my opinion the day time scent, as despite it still be strong and sweet I feel that when you spray the midnight fantasy it's here that you notice the comparison. Despite this scent being very strong and sweet I wounld't say it's a fresh scent; it does smell quite artificial but nether the less you deffinitely smell nice when you are wearing this scent.
A pointer I will add here is that the bottle is very simple; sturdy thick pink glass in a 'bauble' style as collegues describe it covered in sequins as shown in the photo. It's very basic and very simple, yet I'd rather pay less for basic packagaing as opposed to fancey frills on a bottle. Another note is that the 30ml bottle size of this scent is very easy to throw in your bag when on the go, it takes up very little room and is chunky enough to grab, spray a bit and throw it back inside too.
Is it right for me?
If you like strong, long lasting very sweet scents, then yes' this is right up your street. The perfume is branded by Britney Spears which as I said before makes this perfume targeted for girls in their teens to early 20's I feel and I think it's because of its overly sweet scent. Personally despite the brand being Britney Spears and her typically being targeted towards young girls, I would say with her perfume this is more targeted to the age group of top end teens early 20's due to it being very strong. I really enjoy this scent and have no shame in buying this; it's great value for money and has great staying power. What I will say is that I have only ever purchased this perfume at the bargain prices which I mentioned above. Personally seeing how much the fragrance seems to have gone up in price I would be slightly more hesitant about buying it at this price. Not because I don't feel the product isn't worth it, but because I buy it due to it was so cheap and the products scent lasted. If I started paying towards the £20+ mark I would also look on the market for other fragrances too, just to keep options open. However to conclude as a scent for under £20 it's great and it will continue to be a staple within my collection I feel.
Summary: A brilliant worth-while product
