Dior Dolce Vita Eau de Toilette
Advantages: Well designed, long lasting, good blend of floral and fruit
Disadvantages: To heavy for day wear in my opinion
I have a number of different perfumes in my collection, I have reviewed many of them and I am reviewing one that I brought some time ago, that is the Christian Dior Dolce Vita perfume. I have tried a couple of the Dior fragrances in the past and have found them all to be very likable. The Dior Dolce Vita perfume was brought for me as a gift a couple of years ago, I am now using the last remaining amount up as it is one of those bottles that has been sat in the back of my draw. Here are my thoughts on the product.
The perfume is quite an expensive one. I guess you pay for the Dior name as opposed to anything else. The perfume that I have is the 100ml bottle and you will be looking at paying around the £65.00 mark for this. It is certainly not a cheap scent. The perfume was first launched in 1996 but it was when I had it as a present that I first took notice, I have had the Poison fragrance before so didn't really go looking for this one. There is quite good availability on the perfume, it can be found in places like Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser, I have also spotted it in a couple of Boots stores. It is cheaper if you buy the 30ml bottle of the fragrance or the 50ml, this retails for around the £37.00 and £50.00 mark.
The fragrance came in a cardboard box, gold and black I colour if I remember correctly. As you open it you will reveal a glass bottle that is clear glass so the gold looking fragrance can be seen through it. There is the name of the fragrance and the door logo on the front. On the packaging of the perfume there is a full breakdown of the ingredients that have been used as well as more information on the scent of the perfume.
There is a gold cap at the top of the bottle that needs to be removed and then there is a nozzle that the perfume is dispensed from, it comes out as a fine mist. The perfume is a mixture of fruity and floral scents; this is my favourite mixture so my gift was off to a good start. The fragrance is a great mixture of citrus blends, I actually found it to be quite heavy to start with, something that I have found with other Dior scents but it works well and once you have got over the initial heavy side it is not as bad, the shock soon stops and within minutes the heaviness will pass.
The floral tones within the perfume work well, soft and gentle and not as heavy as the fruity tones, the other scent that you will notice is a woody one. The perfume is ideal for evening wear, I say this as it is a little heavy for wearing as a daytime one, it feels more special to put this on of an evening and go out for the night. The Dior scent is certainly memorable and the fruity tones mix in well with the floral ones to make a great mix, it really does last well as well, this is certainly long lasting and wears well into the night.
The tones of this scent are ones that I do recommend, not if you are looking for an all day scent but definitely if you want something that little bit stronger.
4 out of 5 from me on this
Thank you for reading
