Yves Rocher Yellow Peach Eau de Toilette
Advantages: Smells summery
Disadvantages: Simply not for me
It will come as no great shock to anyone who regularly reads my reviews to learn that I am a fan of the french beauty company Yves Rocher, as most people will probably be aware by now. I tend to buy from them around every 4 to 5 months and take advantage of 'Buy one get one free', '2 for 1' or percentage deals (anything from 30% to 70% off certain items) so although it may seem I am constantly buying from them the reality is I simply stock up around 3 to 4 times per year not to mention receiving items as Christmas/ Birthday presents from my mum who first introduced me to them.
I have recently just made my first purchase since just before Christmas so decided to use up some of my already opened beauty items to make way for my new arrivals, and one such items was this EDT from the Les Plaisirs Natures range simply entitled Yellow Peach.
*~*Price, packaging & availability*~*
This EDT comes in 2 sizes of 20 ml and a much larger 100 ml and for reviewing purposes only I will just mention that it is the smaller 20 ml size that I currently own and am therefor referring to throughout this review even though they are identical in every way except size and price.
Yellow Peach comes presented in a sturdy and quite thick glass bottle which is completely clear and is in the same style as all of the other EDT's in this range. The bottle itself is quite simple in design being of a cylindrical shape which slightly tapers in towards the neck where it is met with a long and slim plastic lid which protects the nozzle underneath.
As with all of the Les Plaisirs Nature EDT's the packaging is very minimal (and also recyclable) with the glass being transparent enough for the actual EDT to be seen clearly through, which in this case is a warm looking though slightly pale orange in colour and not peach as you would imagine it to be.
For a 20 ml size bottle you can expect to pay anything in the region of £2.90 upwards with the current price being £5, considering that the 100 ml is only £9 then it wouldn't be economical to purchase the smaller size at £5. As I rarely pay full price for anything from Yves Rocher I purchased this when it was on the £2.90 offer price and feel it is a fair price to pay considering that a 20 ml bottle isn't very big and doesn't last all that long.

*Browsing Ebay where I have come across many bargains myself in the past.
*~*What is it?*~*
According to Yves Rocher Yellow Peach EDT is made with "..the fragrance of luscious peaches whose taste is a sunny delight. A sensuous pleasure that leaves skin perfumed with the aroma of a ripe summer peach.."
*~*My experience of using this*~*
I love this range and have used all of the different 'flavours' in the past though this is the first time I have actually bought this as it is a relatively new offering. I was slightly apprehensive of purchasing this Yellow Peach EDT as I have to say I'm not really a big fan of the fruit itself and can take it or leave it. What swayed my decision was the fact I had received a free sample of the coordinating body lotion and even though it was only a small sachet size it was enough to give my skin a good coverage and to decide that the lotion was lovely. Whilst ordering the lotion I happened to notice that this EDT was on offer at £2.90 so decided to buy it so I could layer the scent on my skin after using the lotion.
On removing the tight fitting plastic lid there is a strong scent of peaches (unsurprisingly) which at first seems quite overpowering and I wasn't sure what it would settle on my skin like but decided to test it out nevertheless having already purchased it.
A few quick spritzes of Yellow Peach to my pulse points are all that are required for comfortable wearing as it is quite a strong fragrance when first applied and may not to be to everyones taste.
After a few moments though the strength seems to fade slightly and does become a more subtle version of itself and luckily I did come round to this as the time passed from first applying it.
My first thoughts when I sprayed this on my skin were that it was not going to be my 'cup of tea' being a fruity fragrance given the fact that I tend to opt for more woody/ oriental scents as a rule, but because I had been so impressed with the fragrance as a body lotion it had won me over and persuaded me to buy the EDT.
Once Yellow Peach starts to fade to a comfortable degree on my skin I found myself liking it more and more and after about 20 minutes when the fragrance is finally 'settled' I was very much won over by this.
Though this may be strong on first spritzing it does soon fade but not completely and I found that it gives at least 4 to 5 hours of wear before it fades so much so that it needs reapplying, which for just an EDT I think that is very reasonable. Plus given the fact that I paid under £3 for this 20 ml bottle I think it's a very fair price for an attractive scent.
I do actually quite like this EDT but don't feel it could become a firm favourite and not one I would necessarily buy again unless very low in price. There are some very pretty scents in this range including Coconut, Raspberry and Vanilla - all of which are far more superior to Yellow Peach though that's not to say this is terrible because it isn't, it just isn't really my preference.
The fragrance itself is a very warm one that lingers delicately and if you are a fan of peach scented beauty items then this will be a hit for certain. I do admit to liking the body lotion more as it seems a more delicate scent, whereas this seems more full on and *too* fruity. I know I'm making comparisons again but the body lotion is also slightly sweeter whereas this EDT has a slight tang to it so maybe if I had tried this first I would have had a different impression of it instead of making comparisons.
I am going to award this 4 out of 5 stars simply because this just isn't to my taste, but I can't mark it down too much as it's longevity is impressive, smells 'summery', perfect for the daytime and if you are a fan of peach scented products then you will love it.
Summary: A warm summery fragrance that if you like peaches you will love this
