Advantages: Extremely reasonably priced from 9.99 and smells delicious!

Disadvantages: Maybe a bit old fashioned for some

I have always loved this perfume since I was a teenager. It has a beautiful soft powdery smell, not at all modern, but at same time very wearable and light. I have fallen in love with it again, lately, maybe because so many perfumes smell of ozone- which I hate.
It has very good sillage, and it seems to last all day on me. Its drydown is generally powder, gardenia and tuerose.
It has a very romantic nostalgic air, reminiscent of summery floral days, with a wonderful moss rose undertone, a dusty dryish smell, a bit like a dry Martini!
This gives it its classic, yet unusual edge, not unlike a cut price Chanel No. 5.
In fact you would probably appreciate this is you like No. 5, as it has a similar retro feel. I must say, the modern formulations of No. 5 do not last on the skin as long as Blue Grass.
It's nearest cousin though is actually Je Reviens, which is also lovely but a little too elderly for me most of the time.
The thing I like about Blue Grass is that it is not at all cloying and sickly which it could be with its topnote scents of freesia and lavender- it is the little bit of aldehyde in it, and also the dusty smell of sandalwood.
I am someone who loves male scents and so anything with a woody/vetyver/ soapy smell appeals to me, as does this in a most feminine way.
It does not however have the chypre which would sharpen it and make it more kickass.
It does have a slightly leathery smell and certainly is rather softly soapy and creamy.
In fact I sometimes think Blue Grass is like is like a female aftershave type scent, fresh and apres-bain.
My dear mother who is very chic, used to wear this when I was very small and so for me it has the lovely memory of my beautiful Mum. Nothing reminds as well as the olfactory senses, and Blue Grass certainly brings back the past for me- in a very positive way.
It is not sexy except in an understated chiffony girlish way. It does seem to work exceptionally well on my skin- I love anything which is vanillin or musky and soft.
I wear Shalimar if I want something a bit sexier.
I like romantic retro clothes and long hair, so this kind of suits my style. I am not sure if a modern business lady type would adore it as much, maybe it would not be cutting edge and sharp enough.

Summary: A gorgeous light summery scent which has excellent sillage
