Advantages: Calming, Subtle, Inexpensive

Disadvantages: Lack of advertising

Where delicate white lace tablecloths are laden with blue Wedgwood china saucers and tea cups. A small pot for cream is nestled beside a huge pile of scones and jam. The faint scent of tea lingers in the air.

This is what Elizabeth Arden's newest, Green Tea reminds me of. Green Tea is a very subtle scent, not overpowering (ala Chanel,) where less is more. It’s very light, and as the name implies, smells like freshly boiled Green Tea. I find a small spritz on my neck, and a spritz shared between my wrists lasts for roughly five hours with out need to refresh. It's a very pleasant scent, and you often forget you're wearing it. This scent is mature, not fitting into the conventional "Flower, Fruity, Sporty, Sensual, or Spicy" categorisations. This is a scent to wear to the office, but not to a party afterwards. Non-intrusive, (Meaning people don't smell you four or five metres away). I find a brilliant use for it is a small spritz on bed linen, helps me to relax and fall comfortably asleep at night.

I first discovered Green Tea not long ago, on a P&O ferry via Calais. I am very fussy when it comes to perfume and personal scents. My current wardrobe contains the "classic" Chanel No. 19, Cool Water for Women, Estee Lauder's Pleasures, Tommy, Clinique’s Happy, and, Elizabeth Arden’s Sunflowers. It was only natural my curiosity got the better of me, and only a moment later I was en route to the ferry’s check out, Green Tea perfume and matching lotion. My perfume is carefully chosen to match moods, outfits and situations. I would wear No. 19 out with my husband to a nice restaurant, and Tommy on a shopping excursion. Certain scents not only match moods, but as my husband well knows, induces moods. He knows that if I’m wearing Pleasures he’s going to get lucky, and often asks me to wear it ;) But, back to Green Tea… This scent is very calming, and I often wear it when I know
it’s going to get stressful.

I’m not the only Green Tea convert in my family. My Aunt asked me to buy her a bottle at duty free when I went over to America, and my mother also vowed to buy it! Green Tea has almost an universal appeal, as it cannot be labelled as a “young” or “old” fragrance, nor is it sickly sweet, musky, overpowering, or overtly feminine.

Green Tea is the newest subtle and sublime fragrance from Elizabeth Arden. Perfect for daytime wear, and for de-stressing, I give it an empathetic two thumbs up!
