Advantages: Long lasting on the skin and in the bottle, cheaply priced and not so popular.
Disadvantages: Not really a younger womans perfume and the bottle isnt that great!
On yet another shopping trip I couldn't find anything to buy. You know one of them days when everything you try on is wrong and anything you see is over priced or something! So I thought I know what I'll get, I'll get me a bottle of perfume! (Like I need more!)
I was in Asda following an argument with the boyfriend and couldn't be bothered to look round the store so I picked this up as it was on offer for £4.99 for a 30ml bottle without even smelling it, paid and left the store. I thought well if I don't like it I'll give it to my mum . I was dubious I wouldn't like it as it's a fragrance that was launched in 1998 and therefore to me probably a little old fashioned but I was still hopeful as I adore Cote L'aimant and that's as old fashioned as they come!..
The Packaging....
Light blue box with dark blue writing on the front telling me it is indeed by Elizabeth Arden and is called Splendor. On the back tells me it is Eau De Parfum, 30ml spray also in dark blue.
The bottle is made of glass, long in shape with engraved lines running into it, a silver sprayer that you push and it gives an even squirt of the pale yellow coloured liquid each time. The push on top sits on very securely and has a silver band and then glass on the top like a marble shape.
The glass itself isn't that elegant looking as its rather chunky but the design itself is quite pretty. I'm not keen on Elizabeth Arden perfume bottles, they are rather clumsy looking and basic but at end of day the perfumes now have they've been around for a long time and tend to be a cheaper brand in general.
The Fragrance....
Water Lily, Magnolia and White Musk.
To me....
The fragrance is incredibly strong on application. It's very sweet and you can really smell the white flowers more than the musk but you can smell a musky undertone running through it. Its very deep and fresh and if you know flowers in general you'd identify this fragrance. Its very simple and lasts about 6 hours on the skin. It fades after a couple of hours but does leave a nice sexy smell on the skin. I really like the smell of it but I would say I think this is for someone older than I (I'm 33). I would also say that although this fragrance is deemed fit for elegant wear I disagree. It's light enough and long lasting enough to use as a day time smell but to me not classy enough to wear at night. I like it for a fresh smell all day long! It doesn't knock you out and its not one that people will comment on in a positive or a negative way. It does leave a smell behind you but like I said earlier, only for a couple hours then its down to being sniffed when your up close and personal with someone!
Can be found in most department stores and chemist's.
I bought mine in Asda for £4.99 for a 30ml bottle.
Summary: Fresh and clean, I love this one!
