I had tried this as a sample in a magazine, and was instantly intrigued, so was very happy when my friend bought me one of those sets with 5 small different perfumes and this perfume was one of the ones in the set. I was quite surprised when I was emptying out my car, and found this bottle, as I had completely forgotten I owned it.
This scent was first released in 2006 and is described as "A spellbinding fragrance from Armani evoking the same elegance as a Giorgio Armani dress. A woman's mysterious code of seduction revealed" which, although I can't imagine many men will be seduced by me wearing this, it's nice to know that is the idea behind the perfume!
This perfume is in a blue bottle, which starts off a pale blue, and gets darker as you get closer to the top. There are also some black flowery detail wrapped around the bottle as well. Personally, although the bottle does look elegant, I find that it's a little too dark for me, and would prefer there to be more of a contrast between the bottle and the black flowers.
Heart Notes: Orange Blossom, African bitter orange and Sweet Italian orange
Top Notes: Tunisian orange blossom and Sambac jasmine
Base Notes: Honey and Vanilla
While the notes in this perfume would indicate that this could be quite a sweet scent, it's surprisingly deep, and while it is initially strong, it soon fades to something deeper and muskier. After an hour or so, the initial strong burst fades, and it becomes a slightly fruity, honey scent. When you first spray this, you can make out a strong fruity scent, and I am a big fan of anything orange scented, this perfume really appeals to me. I don't really like the scent of vanilla, so I'm thankful that this is one scent that I can't really detect from this perfume. I have found that by just putting this on my wrists, I can detect the occasional whiff of the scent when I move my arm. I could still detect a faint smell of this scent around 10 hours after application, although it had faded a lot, and it was a lot sweeter and you could only really detect the base notes, particularly the honey.
I do think that as this was such a strong scent, a lot of people won't like it, but as I do like sweet, deep, musky scents, I really like this one. I think this is slightly too strong a scent for daytime, and would be better suited for night time, although I think that for those occasions where I prefer something stronger (such as a day's shopping), I wear this scent.
The prices for the Eau de Parfum are as follows:
30ml £43.50 from Boots, £41.50 from The Perfume Shop and £30.00 from Tesco
50ml £56.50 from Boots, and £49.99 from The Perfume Shop
75ml £71.50 from both Boots and The Perfume Shop
The Eau de Toilette, which is a lighter version of the fragrance is £46.00 for 50ml from Boots.
This isn't the cheapest perfume, but as there are a lot of price variations online, it's always best to shop around. This is a strong scent, and does seem to last a long time, and for a scent that is unique and long lasting, I don't think that is an extortionate price. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a strong signature night time scent that really lasts. The scent won't suit everyone, but I am a big fan of this.
Our time I have worn many different perfumes by numerous designers, out of all of the them armani code is the one I will always go back to.
I bought mine from the perfume shop and paid around £55 for 50ml which a pretty average price for a designer perfume. The perfume is also available in 30 ml and 75ml. Its widely available from perfume shops, department stores, pharmacies and online so its easy to get of. Like most perfumes prices can vary greatly from place to place so its worth shopping around for the best price.
Originally I'd seen the TV advert for the perfume and wanted to smell it for mysrlf. Once I smelt it I was sold. Its quite a heavy almost citrusy scent which I love, obviously scent is a very personal thing. You only need 2 or 3 spritz of this and It will stay all day and night. It lingers well on the skin and clothes and its definitely a scent others notice. I get so many compliments when I'm wearing this scent and so many people ask what I'm wearing. I take that as a good sign!
The perfume is packaged in a gorgeous striking glass bottle. Its long and thin and graduates from dark blue to clear with a pretty black lace like pattern running up it. It has a black plastic lid and spray nozzle. Its a really pretty bottle and looks great on your dressing table. The lid clicks on and off easily and the spray is easy to press down. It sprays a good amount with each spray giving good coverage.
Because its such a heavy scent and you don't need a lot the bottle does last you which is definitely a good thing with a £50 plus price tag.
overall its my go to perfume. If you like citrusy scents give it a go!
