Escada Sentiment is an Eau de Toilette which I own but I have had it for so long that I cannot remember where it appeared from, perhaps it was one of my "boredom in duty free" purchases at the airport but I cannot say for certain. Regardless of this the scent is now a part of my perfume collection and today I will be telling you my thoughts on it.


The Packaging
I cannot remember the original box which Sentiment came packaged in as it was so long ago, the bottle however is very nice. The bottle is made from a clear glass which starts of quite narrow at the bottom and gets gradually wider towards the top. From the front the bottle looks quite pointy as if it is a triangle shape however if you take a closer look you will see it is actually heart shaped and topped with a nice clear heart shaped lid to finish it off. There is a pump spray nozzle located underneath the lid. The front of the bottle has the Escada logo and "Sentiment" printed on the front in capital letters. The liquid inside the bottle is clear in colour although there is not a lot left in the bottle I have! Personally I really like this bottle, I like the shape of it as it is simple yet effective and the clear glass with matching lid makes it look quite pretty and girly sitting on the shelf.


How Does It Smell?
The first words which come to mind when describing the scent of Sentiment shortly after applying the scent are "fruity" and "strong" whereas once the scent has settled I would describe it as more of a slightly fruity scent with a musky floral base and a medium to strong strength. Once settled Sentiment does smell really nice and very feminine although I find that unlike other scents with the floral hints to it this one does seem a little heavier than others and especially in the morning it can feel slightly overpowering especially if like me, you are not a morning person and don't really like such strong smells invading your nostrils first thing!

Regardless of the intensity I do like to wear this scent quite often as it is one of the few scents I own which is a bit more fruity than the rest and I prefer fruity over floral. When it comes to staying power I have mixed opinions on Sentiment, I seem to find that if I apply the scent to my skin the scent will last for hours and often the whole day, this is great but I can't always stomach such a strong scent first thing in the morning and on those mornings I tend to spray the scent on my clothes before I get dressed to give the scent a chance to settle first, this works great with regards to saving me from inhaling the initial intense flavour however when it is sprayed on my clothes the smell seems to wear off within only a few hours and I find that I need to re-apply and therefore suffer the intensity midway through the day.

I would say this scent is suitable for most occasions both day wear and evening wear although personally I tend to only really wear this during the days. It is a nice feminine scent and I think it would possibly be suitable for a nice romantic occasion too.


Price
As I cannot remember where I purchased by bottle of Sentiment, I cannot remember the price I paid. A search today tells me I can get a 75ml bottle for anything between £29 from omfragrances.com and up to £86 from various eBay sellers, I'm not too sure why there is such a big difference in price here, maybe availability is lower now but obviously it is worth shopping around for the best price.


Would I Recommend?
I would recommend Sentiment, it is an intense feminine and fruity-floral mix which I do enjoy wearing. I do think the scent is a little overpowering first thing in the morning, but once it has settled, or if you spray it on your clothes (and risk needing to re-apply later) then it is a good strength and enjoyable to wear. My bottle has nearly finished now and I'm not too sure if I will buy another one due to the fact it seems to be quite limited and heading into the "pricey" category, but I wouldn't say no if I found it at the right price!
