“ Brand: Escada / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette „
I bought Marine Groove by Escada last year.
~ Price and availability ~
I managed to get it online at allbeauty.com for £27.45 for 50ml.
~ Bottle ~
It comes in a tall, curved bottle.
The glass is a deep purple at the bottom and has an ombre effect, becoming pinker towards the top of the bottle.
~ Scent ~
This fragrance was originally released in 2009.
Every year Escada come out with a new summer fragrance (often limited editions) in the same shape bottle as this one and they are usually really summery scents. This scent is no exception.
It has notes of passion fruit, peony, jasmine and musk.
The passion fruit is the first note to hit you in this fragrance. It has a real bite to it when it is first sprayed; almost a fizzy scent. The passion fruit is sweet and gives the fragrance a tropical feel.
The sweetness reminds me of raspberry sauce that you get on your ice cream. It is nice, but it can become a little bit sickly after a while.
The floral notes are soft, sweet and feminine and they are quite subtle in this fragrance. It is almost as though when the top notes have settled down the fragrance is already starting to wear off and I don’t detect any musk in this fragrance at all. I can detect a papery scent as the fragrance settles down, which I really like. I have found the papery scent in other Escada summer fragrances as well. I think the papery scent gives the fragrance more of an identity and gives the fragrance a bit more of a grown up scent although there is no denying that this fragrance is aimed towards younger women. I think some more mature women will find this too sweet. I find I have to be in the mood to wear this fragrance. It is too sweet to wear every day.
I often find sweet, fruity scents have poor lasting power and this fragrance is no exception. Even after three hours of wear it is so subtle on your skin you have to bury your nose into your wrist to be able to smell it.
I really like the scent, but I don’t think I would buy it again in the future. I would recommend it if you like sweet, fruity scents or love the scent of passion fruit, but bear in mind that it is not very long lasting.
It is reasonably priced and has a pretty bottle, but will be too sweet for many people’s tastes.
