Being a member of a beauty site online, I was invited to play their winter sweepstakes. Never being very lucky in these things, I still gave it a try. After trying daily for a couple of weeks, imagine my surprise when I actually was an instant winner of the fifth place prize! A gift pack of Estee Lauder's Beautiful perfume. Beautiful is another one of the perfumes that I received as part of a gift package, hence I have been able to try it out but am not necessarily pre-disposed to like it because I've already spent loads of money on it! Packaged in a very simple bottle with a gold lid, Beautiful looks classic and elegant but certainly doesn't jump off the shelf at you. If the scent matched this appearance it could be something that I would use. As it is though the fragrance of Beautiful I find in fact anything but. Usually taken for as a fragrance for the 'older woman', Beautiful is actually a rather romantic, sweet and elegant perfume. With its sprightly citrus notes, the fragrance has a bright, fresh, sunshine quality about it. Perhaps it is because it has been around for a long time and has not been marketed towards younger women (unlike coco mademoiselle), this fragrance remains much undiscovered by the younger population. Beautiful comes in a slightly curvaceous bottle, in clear glass, with clean, simple lines that echo its clean, bright layers of scent.
