Good old Estee Lauder have got it just right with this Perfume which has become one of my favourites! It comes in quite a Simple looking Goldish bottle that bares the 'Intuition' name and no other real design to it which is a shame because it is such a Gorgeous Fragrance I'm sure it would have more Buyers if the bottle were more Eye Catching!
The Fragrance itself is made up of Oriental Florals which are Perfect for any Occasion and I personally think that it is suitable for Day or Night wear. Like many of the other Estee Lauder Fragrances, the Scent of this perfume adapts to the Individual wearer to give you "your own smell" and it really is very attractive. I can usually smell the Fragrance lingering on the Clothing I've been wearing at the end of the day and it is always such a nice smell.
This is one of the Perfume that always attracts compliments for me as well, I get the "Mmmm what are you wearing?" quite a lot with this one! I think the Scent of this Perfume is so Glamorous and Feminine it is simply Stunning. I would reccomend any lady who Loves their Perfumes to try this one out, I'm sure most of you won't be disappointed. It is available in a 30ml Size for around £24 and a 50ml for around £34 and it is worth every penny since you only need to use a Small amount at a time to give you a Gorgeous aroma.
I am having great fun sorting all my perfumes out and trying them all again and have found yet another little 5ml bottle, this time of Estee's Lauder's Intuition. I received a gift set of Lauder minatures a few Christmas's back and have put of using this one.
I am easily swayed I must admit, and the somewhat dated design of the bottle. had put me off using it. The picture shown above is actually the man's bottle, and the ladies bottle is quite bulbous looking and generally not appealling. There is a little teardrop darker shade in the middle to represent that amber is at the heart of the fragrance, but I can't say the design appeals to me.
Once applied though, a spicy scent emerges, which develops into a warm oriental fragrance which is really very special. I can quite see why Lauder claim that amber is the central fragrance as it really comes into its own and for me is the predominant note of the fragrance, underpinned by fruity citrus notes, not sweet ones you understand, but just enough to get a bit of added spice.
The full notes of the fragrance are as follows:
Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, orange, grapefruit, fresh garden notes
Heart notes: rose double delight. gardenia petals, freesia, garden rhododendron
Base notes: amber, warm skin-accord (whatever that is!!!) and precious woods
Now I am more of a floral fragrance girl, but I adore this fragrance. It feels very sensual and elegant without being too over the top. This fragrance I feel is subtle enough to be suitable for daytime wear, but special enough to be a distinctive evening fragrance also.
I would recommend this not only for lovers of oriental fragrances, but also anyone who normally loves floral fragrances but fancies a bit of a change. You can pick up a 30ml bottle for just under £30 from Amazon - maybe treat yourself with a Christmas present for a change!
Estee Lauder is a long famous name in cosmetics and perfumes. They also own the branding rights to alot of celebrity perfumes. This perfume is one of the Classic range.
This has been a perfume I have used for years and years - a bit of an old favourite that I go back to time and time again.
The perfume comes in 3 sizes (30ml, 50ml and 100ml, retailing for about 27, 38 and 56 respectively). I tend to buy a 50ml bottle which will last me well over a year (as I said I above this is an old favourite that I don't use constantly but go back to occasionally).
This comes in a bright yellow drop with an enlarged droplet of liquid on in. The writing across it is gold. There is a bright white emphasis in the middle of the drop on the box.
Unlike the one in the image here, mine is a combination between an oval and an egg shaped bottle (a- symmetric and curvy - not really sure how to describe it properly!!!) The glass is clear but has a droplet shape in the middle (like on the box), this is indented and filled with a semi-transparent deep sunny yellow, the name is on the opposite side. The spray mechanism is gold and the top is like the bottle shape but turned on one side! The glass bottle and lid are quite thick (less perfume inside!!), which do make them quite heavy to carry.
The fragrance is quite strong - I only need one spray on my wrists and one on my neck to feel well covered!!! The scent seems to mimic the colouring and is based around amber, (there are also hints of mandarin and grapefruit). The other aroma's are all fairly floral (bergamot, freesia, gardenia, Chinese rhododendron) but although present I don't find them choking. It to me has a smell that almost echos a sweet white tea!! The liquid looks slightly golden too!
The colour association and scents all imply luxury and opulence and thid fragrance does just give me that sort of boost, making me feel great. It lasts for a good half day without refreshing and I have managed to get some samples before from counters in department stores to carry round a top up.
What is it?
A perfume called Intuition by Estee Lauder.
Claims to be a refreshing, oriental, floral fragrance. A blend of a citrus and floral scent, with hints of sweet woods and vanilla.
What do I think of it?
I'm not sure about 'refreshing' but I personally don't feel about it this way. I found this perfume very strong and immediately, it reminded me of a perfume that is probably more suited for older women. I think it may be down to the fact my landlady ( in her 60s) who used to wear this. Subconsciously, this perfume immediately reminded me of her!
The perfume smells very dense, heavy or to put it more nicely, a bit rich on the senses. It is actually quite a nice scent, I am thinking the Eau de toiletter would smell a lot more refreshing.
My first impression of this scent is vanilla. And much of the aroma is taken up the the vanilla but also with some hints of wood. Unfortunately, I didn't really feel any of the citrus or floral tones. This is a very sweet perfume, almost like a very rich chocolate cake.
The effects of this lasts for a good several hours and I am very glad that I don't own this. My friend has this and she thought that I smelt a bit funny that evening when we were just about to go out and thoughtfully sprayed a bit of this on me. Mmmm, well, it was better than smelling a bit, uh, 'funny' I guess.
I am also inclined to think that I am allergic to this as I kept sneezing the whole evening. Either it was due to its strong aroma that was too much for my nose, or else, I am also guessing that it might be some of the pollen traces from the woods and flower extracts that it contains...?
The perfume costs around £23.50 for a 30ml bottle of the concentrated perfume version. It was the EDP that I had on all night and it does certainly last. A little bit on the expensive side I think, but a little of this does go a long way, so 30ml would last almost forever as it's so strong.
Not really to my taste at the moment, but perhaps I'll end up buying this when I'm 10 years older...
Thanks for reading. xx
