Advantages: Lasts forever, really nice scent.

Disadvantages: None

When it comes to scent, I tend to peruse my local Boots, find something I like then wear only that until the bottle runs out and I am forced to choose again. I am willing to try anything regardless of packaging, brand, celebrity. I have even been known to prefer an aftershave or two over the offerings in the female section (though as yet my girlfriend hasn't caved to that particular eccentricity).

When I say "only that" I don't mean I go to uni in the nude, however tempting it might be... :D

My last choice, I made some time last year, was Calvin Klein: Eternity for Women, eau du parfum (always parfum, never toilette because I like to control the strength of the scent). It comes in a deliberately "classic" looking bottle (see picture above), very attractive in its simplicity and looks lovely on top of my mirror-surfaced jewellery box. My bottle has a removable lid, not the push down one seen above but it's almost exactly the same.

I have the 30 ml volume bottle: I prefer to buy smaller bottles and use for around a year then move on to the next one, though this might be a keeper. The spray nozzle is, as expected from a famous brand, very good. It diffused the perfume droplets in a nice wide area, about the size of the wrist when sprayed from 20 cm away, not so wide that there is wastage but large enough for decent coverage without rubbing together your wrists. My usual method of dispersal is to walk under a cloud of perfume sprayed into the air, I only spray on the wrists and neck if I want a heavier scent.

*NOTES*

Notes have always fascinated me, you could have two perfumes of almost exactly the same configuration but change one note and the perfume has an entirely different character.

Top notes: Freesia, Mandarin and Sage
Middle notes: Muguet, White Lily, Marigold and Narcissus
Base notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood and Amber

Personally, I can't distinguish the individual scents, it would take a more expert nose, with the exception of the warmth of the sandalwood. What I can smell is one of the nicest perfume combinations I've ever encountered. It's fresh, slightly floral and warm. What particularly impressed me after buying this is that it is suitable for both light and heavy use, unlike some perfumes a few extra sprays enhances rather than overpowers the scent. It lasts all day regardless of how much you use. At £27 for 30 ml it's expensive enough to impress as a gift but cheap enough to be affordable.

Summary: One I am inclined to buy again.

Excellent review, I want to go and buy some right now, it sounds like a perfume I would really like! I agree with you on the aftershave front too, one of my favourite all time smells is an aftershave by Salvador Dali!

Great review! Agreed on the aftershave sometimes being nicer front, as well.
