FCUK Her is the first fragrance that was released by the UK brand FCUK (French Connection United Kingdom). It was released back in 2004 and is still sold today.
Price and availability
FCUK Her is available from Boots and Superdrug and is also available online at allbeauty.com.
The 100ml eau de toilette is currently available at allbeauty.com for £9.99 (RRP £33.00).
It comes in a large, thin, rectangular bottle made from silver plastic. There is a window in the middle of the bottle on each side showing the perfume itself, which is colourless.
‘Her,’ is written in silver lettering on the window on the front of the bottle.
The bottle has a button on the back, which is actually quite hard to push down. It has to be pushed down quite hard to be sprayed.
I’m not a fan of the bottle design. Although it looks modern I also think it looks quite masculine and a bit on the cheap side.
The fragrance opens with a clean scent which I think is quite masculine, but quickly develops into a soft, floral fragrance, which is rather feminine! There is a very sweet, floral note in this scent, which I think is the Barringtonia flower – an exotic, sweet scented flower.
I expected the fragrance to have more of a masculine scent judging by the bottle design. The masculine scent disappears quite quickly and is consumed by the sweet, floral scent.
It is a while before the woody base starts to come through. It is not too strong and it blends well with the other fragrance notes.
The top notes are aquatic iris and citrus.
The heart notes are Barringtonia from Madagascar, peony, violet and jasmine.
The base notes are sandalwood, cedar, amber and vanilla.
I get a hint of violet in this fragrance now and again, which is really nice. To be honest I can’t pick out all of the individual notes in this fragrance. It has a sweet floral scent and as it dries down the woody notes become evident. I can’t detect the amber or vanilla in this fragrance.
FCUK describe this as a very modern, provocative and sexy fragrance and while I agree that it is a modern, clean scent, I don’t think it is provocative or sexy in the slightest. I’d say it is a nice, light, casual, daytime scent and it is.
It is an eau de toilette and lasts on my skin for about 4 hours before wearing off. It doesn’t have great projection and I don’t really notice it on myself after the first hour of wear.
It is nice while it lasts and can be picked up at a good price, but I don’t think I would recommend this fragrance as it doesn’t last very long and the bottle is quite big to be carrying around with you. It is a nice fragrance and is nicer than I expected it to be, but it still isn’t anything too special.
I have recently purchased a gift set of FCUK Her which included the EDT and a moisturiser for my sister for Christmas and was impressed with the fragrance and price of the item so purchased a set for myself as well.
The FCUK Her is a stylish perfume in a silver oblong bottle with a transparent glass section in the centre. The bottle was priced on its own for £9.99 at B&M but the gift set was only an extra £1 and looked nicer as a present. For £9.99 you get an impressive 100 ml so is great value for money.
The fragrance itself is a modern and young scent with top notes of Violet, Peony Iris and Jasmine, and base notes of Cedar, Sandalwood Rose and Cinnamon. The concoction of these notes makes a lovely perfume which is both fresh enough for daytime wear but still deep enough for evening. This scent is a beautifully modern fragrance in a simple but sophisticated package.
My only issue with the FCUK Her is its longevity. The fragrance starts off strong - not too strong though - but fades after only a couple of hours. This means that you need to re apply the perfume which in turn means the fragrance will not last as long as other bottles may do, and even if applying the matching moisturier it still looses its strength. However, for the price I can put up with this.
Overall a lovely modern fragrance, nicely priced and a great gift!
This is my favourite scent of all, you can pick these up for around £15 (or even £8 I can see it for now) and rather than fork out on an expensive one I always seem to buy this now.
The bottle is really funky, but adds to the size and sadly cannot fit in a lot of my bags, the spray sometimes gets a bit jammy too. There is a good amount in the bottle for the price I am paying and I wear this most days and The last bottle lasted me a good 5-6 months. The box is just a silver simple Fcuk box it comes in, but I don't keep the boxes from perfumes.
The smell is amazing. It's very fruity, more of a summer fruity than the citrus smell, There is a hint of floral in there maybe a lavender?. It's seems very poppy and funky for a teenager but it hasn't got the childish smell to it so I believe anyone can get away with wearing it, its very fresh and light but lasts me right til the end of the day and then sprayed back on ready to hit the town.
This is yet another perfume I purchased from the site fragrancedirect.co.uk for just £12.99 for a 100ml bottle which I thought was really good for such a popular brand name. French Connection as I do always word is myself as I do not like the abbreviated term as it is too close to a swear word do all different kinds of things, including dirferent perfumes, clothes, handbags, and all of which are usually pretty expensive so this seemed a really good buy for me, although the recommended retain price was £33.
The bottle is a shiney silver bottle which is rounded on the edges is quite a nice looking bottle, a little bit plain but the colour and the shine of it make this look even better. The squirter is at the top of the bottle and is protected by rubber, to spray you only have to tap gently on the rubber and the spray will come out straight away.
The perfume is classed as having the following notes barringtonia flower from Madagascar, decadent cedar wood and sandalwood engrained with vanilla. To me it smells sweet and flowery, that is the only words I can use to describe the scent of this perfume.
Now when I first sprayed this perfume I sprayed it a few times, and I could not stop sneezing it was that strong scented, so I started only using a couple of sprays at a time and the sneezing stopped, the perfume is a very strong and overpowering smell to start off with but once it has absorbed the sweet flowery smell is a lot more pleasant and actually smells very nice. Its just a nice flowery perfume and does not over do it with loads of different smells coming from it. The mixture of the smells blend in really well together so I feel you can not pick out any one scent they just all smell the same. The perfume does last all day and even though I only use a couple of sprays I still go home at the end of the night and can still smell this perfume on me.
I feel I got a great bargain with this and would buy some more once I run out to go with the rest of my perfume collection. I would recommend it to anyone to give this a try.
Connect her is a wonderful fragrance made by FCUK which actually means French Connection United Kingdom. I remember when I banned my son and I am still banning him from wearing any shirt with the word FCUK acronym because I was and still seeing that word pretty close to the swear word.
The perfume Connect was launched by the design house of French Connection in 2003. The perfume has been successful over the past years when it comes to sales. It was one of the top sales as Christmas gifts.
I bought mine from Wilkinson's again because they have very cheap prices compared to other shops so I bought one for me and the other one to give away as a gift.
The packaging was very attractive, the rectangular box was shiny like a mirror with connect fcuk written on the box in red. You see the complete list of ingredients on the back of the box.
The bottle itself is eye catching. It is a Four-sided shaped bottle with soft edges. The outline of the bottle was all reflective silver and it was embracing another rectangular red glass window showing the actual liquid with the name of perfume "connect" written on the middle of it. On the top of the bottle the brand name was displayed in black on a rubber piece attached to it.
Spraying the perfume was easy, you only press on the top of the perfume bottle where the rubber cover was, short but strong mists usually come out of it; in my case two to three sprays were more than enough for me.
Smelling the perfume was the best thing to do. The moment I smelt it I loved it. I wasn't so sure whether to buy it or not but the shop assistant told me that it is a very nice perfume that is if I like heavy scented perfumes which I do.
I can describe the smell as robust and over powerful to start with. The full bodied perfume was inviting and attractive. The vibrant note of Muguet, Bergamot and water iris gave the perfume that sweet, flowery scent. It contains a sumptuous combination of Barrigtonia Flower, Jasmine, peony and Violet and finally, the rich ,spicy and earthy smell of the Golden Amber, Musk, Sandalwood and Cedar wood was a sensational touch that added to the perfume depth, warmth and a touch of passion.
My husband loved the smell of it on me and so did I. I can say that I liked it, as a matter of fact, I LOVED it. I didn't sneeze when I sprayed it which is considered to be one of the main advantages. The perfume was over powerful to start with, maybe too woody or musky for some but after a few minutes and when the perfume settles down, the real scent will shine through and you will definitely like it.
Generally, the perfume was delightfully fresh, soft, spicy and sweet. The gorgeous smell was very appealing.
The sandal wood and cedar wood were extremely seductive and playful yet classy and sophisticated. I guess calling it connect was right, it does connect people together with its lively and hearty perfume that will definitely provoke your senses and stimulate them.
Some perfumes make you itch however connect her didn't irritate my skin when sprayed although it was slightly oily. Another thing which is pretty important is that some perfumes can smell heavenly on some people but it does not on others especially strong perfumes. The strong perfumes can be very tricky so I advise you to try a sample of it first on some pulse areas like your wrist for example and wait for a few minutes and see if you like it or not.
FCUK connect her is a perfume that is suitable for casual wear but in my opinion, I think it's more like a "winter" perfume because of its intensity and warmth.
My husband and I were enormously happy with our purchase that we decided to keep the other perfume for myself and buy connect for men perfume to try.
Buying the perfume is very easy, I got mine from Wilkinson's and it's available in perfume shops and online. Prices are vary, RRP £33, SOME ONLINE SHOPS for half price at £16 or even cheaper. The cheapest was in Wilkinson for £9.99/100ml EDT bottle.
I highly recommend it and I would give it 5 stars without even having second thoughts.
Thank you for reading my review.
I love perfumes and am always on the lookout for a good bargain. So when I spotted this in ASDA at £8 last summer, I chucked it straight in the trolley without thinking!
The bottle, picture above, seems very strange to me and is what attracted me to the perfume in the first place. It is a rounded, rectangular bottle with a silvery lining. There is a small section of the middle of the bottle which is glass, and see through, which shows the clear, colourless perfume. There is very little writing on the bottle, simply fcuk her. The 100ml bottle also comes in a plain silver box with fcuk for her written along the side.
To apply the perfume, there is a small square at the top of the bottle which is white. Point the bottle where you wish to spray and push on this square, the button will push into the bottle and release the spray. Be careful not to spray too close to you and to make sure you have directed it were you wish to wear the perfume. The bottle can be a little difficult to contrl as it is a big bottle and a strange way to disperse the perfume, I sometimes have to use two hands!
fcuk claim that the perfume has a fresh illuminating scent. There are supposed to be hints of the barringtonia flower from Madasgascar, cedar wood, sandalwood and vanilla.
However, I believe the perfume smells a little like lavendar, which is perfect as I love this scent!
The perfume seems to absorb very quickly, so you can put it on just before you leave and it will absord straight in. Also, it seems to last all day, which is always a bonus!
To say I only paid £8 for this perfume, it was an absolute bargain!!
The packaging is great and looks different compared to other perfumes. Also, the scent is lovely and lasts all day, which is always a bonus!
FCUK: Her by French Connection was first created in 2004, so this is not a new fragrance to the market. I purchased this from Semi Chem for £9.99 for a 50ml eau de toilette, a very reasonable price, for a very reasonable scent.
The bottle is exactly the same as FCUK: Men, brushed silver, with glass window, and the French Connection UK logo at the base of the bottle. It's a very modern, clean design and would look great in a minimalist style bathroom.
The scent itself, a floral oriental, is rather nice, at first I wasn't too sure, however after a few hours I began to really like this, not a favourite of mine, but something I will wear during the day, and save the 'special' fragrances for night.
It opens with a rather intense burst of a quite refreshing bergamont, which tends to last throught to the dry down. Other top notes include muguet and water iris, which offer the amazing floral hit you will experience when you first spritz this fragrance. Dont be too put off at this stage, I know it is extremely floral, however, once it begins to mellow you will delight, hopefully in the more suble notes to come.
The heart notes are where this fragrance really begins to win you over, sandalwood, and the ever delightful jasmine, so heady, but combined they compliment each other well. There is also a slight scent of violet, not overpowering, but just barely discernable.
I love the base notes in this fragrance, amber, cedar and a lovely soft slight vanilla, which makes it quite warm and very wearable perfume. It's perfect for day, but I'm sure a few a spritz or two for night would not be lost either. Although this is a floral oriental, it is still very fresh and clean smelling.
It's not the longest lasting scent though, after a few hours I can just detect the scent lingering on my skin, very subtle, but for the price I don't really mind.
I would buy this again since it is such a good price for a nice clean modern fragrance, and if a floral oriental is your thing, then you will not be disappointed.
Please test as not everyone can enjoy the same fragrances, we're all individual in our likes and dislikes.
I received this as a christmas present last year from an auntie. I dont know much about fragrances and 'what's in' at the moment, like the many girls I know! I think Fcuk is quite a respectable make and I was very pleased with this product. I think it retails about £15.
I hate when you find a product you like and the bottle is SO tiny you get a couple of months use out of it! The bottle is 100ml and I use it everyday nearly and theres probably 90% left.
The design is great. Its a sleek and smooth pebble colour. It is a cuboid with rounded edges. In the middle on both sides, there is a clear section so you can see how much is left. You spray it by pressing on the top, where there is a rubber part. In grey writing it says 'her' at the bottom of the clear panel.
I love the smell, it is quite musky but also hints of lavender. I am no longer 16 any more (!) so this is a more grown up smell without being 'old fashioned'.
It quickly evaporates so no longer windmilling the arms to get perfume to dry!
The fragnance lasts a considerable time, at the end of the day there is still a faint smell of it left.
Bottle is much too big to take in your handbag.
The rubber part which you press down to release the fragrance soon came out of my part and hangs annoyingly off!
Great product put a smaller case may be more practical.
I recieved Fcuk as a present so couldnt put it back on the testing shelf after spraying it, which at first this is what i wanted to do be patient i said at first. The bottle is quite unique but i would say fits in well with the Fcuk brand, its a long rectangle with rounded corners, a dark metalic colour first and then a silver color in the middle.. Moving onto the scent well at first i would say alcohol, i sprayed it and this big surge of alcohol it my nose, leaving me with quite a bad headache for a couple of hours. Due to this i didnt notice till a while after that the alcohol scent had in fact developed in to some more floral scents including jasmine and violent, musk being one of its main notes. SO it did develop throughout the day and the strong alcoholic smell shifte, also a positive is that its quite cheap the other day i spotted one online 100ml for £12.75. However even at this price no developing scent is worth a headache all day.
I am addicted to perfumes and whenever I go out shopping I always treat myself to a new scent. Sometimes I just buy any scent at the perfume counter without trying it or ill just buy a perfume because I like the look of the bottle.
The scent itself is rather unusual and initially quite strong and overpowering. The first time I sprayed the perfume I almost choked because of the really strong and overpowering aroma. I actually thought the scent was an aftershave at first because of the strong scent, it just smelled far too strong and overpowering for an Eau De Toilette.
As soon as I sprayed the scent onto my wrist all I could detect was a strong alcoholic smell for the first three minutes or so. The alcohol smell was probably one of the main reasons I thought that this scent was like an aftershave, because a lot of aftershaves have a strong alcoholic smell within the first few minutes of applying them.
Once the alcoholic smell had dispersed the scent began to smell slightly more feminine but it was still really strong and overpowering. I thought that the scent smelled rather floral and heavy, it smelled fairly similar to Lillie's. At this point I was almost tempted to wash all traces of the scent from my wrist because I hated the heavy, overpowering, floral aroma. But I had only been wearing the scent for about five minutes or so and what I was smelling was most probably the top notes, so I had to give the scent time to react with my skin so as the heart and base notes could develop.
After wearing the scent for about 15 minutes it had actually died down an awful lot and had a more subtle aroma. The floral scent of the Lillie's was still evident, but not as strong as before, and it was complimented by slightly sweeter floral notes. The sweet floral notes which I could smell were Jasmine and Violet, the sweetness from the Jasmine and Violet was accompanied by a slightly musky and spicy undertone which made the scent more feminine and less floral.
I began to like the scent of the perfume after wearing it for about an hour or so because it smelled completely different and more feminine. I think that the top notes are too strong, but once these wear off and the heart and base notes stat to become more visible the scent is actually really nice.
I would describe the scent as being sweet, floral and musky after the top notes have worn off. It is a nice perfume and has really good staying power for an Eau De Toilette; the scent lasts for well over 8 hours. Fcuk Her is one of those perfumes where a little goes a very long way, spraying too much of it gives you a sore head because of the high alcoholic aroma which can be smelled for the first five or so minutes.
The scent is described as having
Top notes of Bergamot, Muguet, and Water Iris (loads of alcohol too lol)
The top notes are the first phase of the perfume; they are usually the most volatile and evaporate from the skin very quickly. The top notes are usually very light and refreshing and their scent usually lasts for anything between five and ninety minutes. Although the top notes in this scent are really strong and overpowering for the first 5 minutes.
Heart notes of Barringtonia Flower from Madagascar, Peony, Jasmine and Violet
The middle notes of a scent are therapeutic and balancing oils, sometimes the middle notes are often referred to as the heart notes of a scent. The middle notes are not always evident and can take between thirty and sixty minutes to develop on your skin, and they last for anything between two to four hours.
Base notes of Golden Amber Musk, Cedarwood and Sandlewood
The base notes are the longest lasting notes in a fragrance, most perfumes use the same base notes. This is because they give the perfume more staying power and stop the top and middle notes from evaporating from your skin as quickly.
The perfume is nice but once the bottle is finished I don't think ill be rushing out to buy another one. Fcuk Her is an Eau De Toilette fragrance which means that it contains between 4-10% perfume oils. An Eau De Toilette perfume is most commonly bought because it is cheaper than an Eau De Parfum, an eau de toilette scent usually lasts for about 3-4 hours on your skin although some others do last a lot longer it just depends on the different oils in your skin.
Fcuk Her Eau De Toilette can be bought from Boots and costs ~
£33 for a 100ml bottle
£26 for a 50 ml bottle
