I am a fan of FCUK bodysprays and shower gels, I have been a fan of them for many years more expensive than the leading brand but they are better smelling and I was given the FCUK Him Eau de Toilette as a Christmas gift from someone who knew I liked the FCUK range.
The FCUK Him Eau de Toilette is a mix of sexy, provocative and dynamic with a manly but not over the top smell. It's a fresh, oriental type smell to it if that makes sense, feels fresh is in the air when your smelling it (or when a potential or current lover may smell you).
I would class is as an everyday fragrance but also nice to complement a nice outfit on a night out around town or club.
The bottle is rather large, 100ml in fact, but this is great for travelling too as 100ml is the maximum a bottle can be for carriage in hand luggage when your flying somewhere by plane, the bottle is plain and rounded which gives it a nice modern feel with a clear glass middle to see the inside... makes it easier to see when it's about to run out and needs re-purchasing. Doesn't require a massive amount to be applied each time though, a few squirts should do it.
I would highly recommend this product to teens & men aged 20 - 35 years but maybe not for an older guy
I have recently purchased the FCUK Her for myself and as a present for my sister and saw the same reduced price at the time for the 'Him' EDT, so decided to get it for my partner for his birthday last week as a little stocking filler gift - as it was at the reduced price of £10!
The FCUK Him is a stylish perfume in a silver oblong bottle with a transparent blue tinged glass section in the centre. The 100 ml bottle was priced at B&M at £9.99 in a lovely silver and blue box which is very cheap for a mans EDT. I was a little sceptical on whether it would be as nice a the 'Her' fragrance but thought for £9.99 was worth a try!
'Him' is a strong fragrance and is a fresh fresh and clean smell. The fragrance has Base notes of Vanilla and Patchouli, mid notes of Green Pepper, Sage and Tea and light top notes of Lavender and Rosemary. With the first spray you can pick up on the Vanilla and Lavender notes which make the EDt light and clean smelling, almost like you have just stepped out the shower.
Unlike the feminine edt 'Him' lasts a lot longer and you don't need to reapply at all throughout the day, perhaps as the fragrance is stronger and fresher unlike the women's version. My boyfriend loves the fragrance and has been using it every day so has asked for more for Christmas - and at just £9.99 who am I to argue ;)
A great gift idea, lovely design, fragrance and price
Overall a lovely modern fragrance, nicely priced and a great gift!
I had some of this delivered yesterday along with Andy Roddick's Eau de Toilette - both are just under a tenner for 100ml and of course bargains! In terms of smell FCUK connect is a little on the generic side - that usual fresh citrus smell that most perfumes have, though compared to what else I have, it smells a little like liquorice.
Whilst it makes for a perfectly pleasant smell, the staying power is a bit on the weak side in that the intensity of the scent faded over ten minutes. Initially one might be a little disappointed with this, though I began to think: maybe a subtle skin-close scent isn't a bad thing? Further, it's perhaps better than people occasionally catching a whiff of perfume.
I got Andy Roddick's own EDT to compare this to, out of the two it's the stronger one - the same citrus fresh smell, though instead with a hint of cherry (don't worry, they're both perfectly masculine!). Out of the two, I have to say this a better choice if you want something with a little more scent, it's also a little cheaper at £6.52. Both are however excellent.
It's worth noting that if you're buying 100ml you're saving money but this bottle isn't exactly compact - rather a large metallic style... thing. The height is akin to a deodorant bottle but a little wider.
Smaller sizes like 25ml are travel friendly but not as pocket friendly - a refillable travel perfume atomizer can solve this problem mind you; they allow you to collect the spray into a small capsule and cost about £6 on Amazon.
1 of the scents that I really like is FCUK in number 2, and the wife likes the Perfume in number 2 as well, so perhaps we are an ok match. The scent has been out for quite a few years now, and it is a well known brand but also sold at a good price.
The last time I bought a bottle of this I got it for £12.99 for a 100ml bottle, which I think is a great price. This used to be mostly available in Boots where I stay, but this brand seems to also be in the discount chemists as well, probably why the prices are pretty good then.
I looked online to see what all the notes are in here, and there is quite a few different ones and these don't exactly match up with the scent that I can smell when I spray this. Some of the notes in here are sangria, basil, hemp, sage, peppercorn, patchouli rosemary and lavender. All sounds a bit herb like to me I would say.
Although this probably sounds like it is all heavy and green, there is a nice clean sparkle that goes through this, and it is a nice smell which warms to your skin and is a subtle smell but you won't have any bother smelling this. It lasts well also and after using this in the morning I can still smell this a bit later in the afternoon.
A good smell from a good brand and it is priced well as well.
My mum bought this for my hubby last Christmas, even after using it pretty much every day there is still just over 1/4 of the bottle left.
It has a strong scent as do most aftershaves or men's sprays but it is a scent that is manly and delicious.
It has a rather quirky bottle, slim and long, with a silver plastic casing that surrounds the clear glass panel in the middle. This is handy as you can see just how much you have left! The squirty bit is in the front of the bottle and you simply push down the little rubbery button on the back... or front depending on which way you look at it I suppose lol!!
I love it when my man wears this as it's a really manly seductive scent, I find it quite alluring and sexy!
It is described as an oriental, woody, sexy scent and I do very much agree! If you ask him to describe it though he simply says 'yeah, it's nice'!!!
Top Notes ~
Sangria, basil, rosemary and lavender
Heart Notes ~
Hemp, mexican black sage, green peppercorns and tea
Base Notes ~
Black suede, vanilla, ebony and patchouli
The initial notes that I first notice is the herby clean fresh scent, quickly followed by a mellow deep haze and the lasting lingering base notes leave a truly manly sexy scent.
Amazon have it on sale for £12.99 50ml but I have found it (and bought it shhhh) on Fragrance Direct for just £7.95 for 50ml!
It is a mellow enough scent to wear for everyday use but with a few more squirts also suitable for a night out. It is an alluring, seductive scent that I would love to smell on any man..... Especially mine... (Or the smelly one's in queues! See my room 101 review lol).
I decided to treat my hard working husband to a bottle of FCUK: Him, by French Connection for Father's day, really due to it being on offer in Semi Chem for £12.99. For this price you get a whopping 100ml bottle.
The bottle is quite stylish in a brushed silver casing with the FCUK logo on the nozzle. It has a large transparent window, which is handy to monitor how much fragrance is left in the bottle. This is a spray, which makes application much easier and is more economical compared to the usual after shave splashes which are quite common amongst men's fragrances.
FCUK Him, is categorised as a fresh, woody, oriental style fragrance. When you first spritz this scent, you are met with top notes of basil, sangria, rosemary and lavender, however the basil and rosemary are quite sharp, they really hit the senses in a big way. This is a very distinct, fresh and memorable fragrance.
Once the top notes have mellowed, the mid notes begin to become more discernable, and what you will now detect is the warm peppery smell of green peppercorns, along with hemp and sage.
As the fragrance continues to develop the base notes take this from a fresh green aromatic aftershave to something a little more sensual with the additon of vanilla, ebony wood, black suede (which I'm not really sure if I can identify) and patchouli. The fragrance is long lasting too, a few sprays can last a good few hours.
I love this fragrance on my partner, it is a slightly mysterious combination of sparking fresh green notes, with a really deep and sexy edge. When it is first applied it makes me think, clean, green and freshly showered, but after a few hours is is very exotic and quite oriental. This is perfect for either day or evening wear, so is very versatile. It is not too overpowering that it comsumes the wearer, nor too subtle so it is indistinguishable.
Both my partner and I like this fragrance, and would definitely recommend this, especially since it is such a great price for such a large bottle. I would make a second purchase.
Since fragrance is an individual choice, I would recommend testing before purchase.
It was my husbands birthday recently. He was lucky enough to get some really nice gifts, one of which was fcuk for him, eau de toilette. My husband loves trying out new fragrances and was really pleased with his present. But not as pleased as I was when he came downstairs wearing it one evening. To me this fragrance is so sexy it should come with a warning!! There is something in this scent that turns me into a vixen and my husband into a sex god.
Right I suppose there is only females left to read my review now, as all the men have run down the chemist to buy a bottle of this scent!! so I will begin by telling you about the bottle.
The packaging appears to me to be quite new age. It is very trendy and minimalistic. It has a great masculine look to it with its brushed silver outer edging. The inside of which lies the fragrance. In a clear transparent glass. This not only looks cool and sleek but helps users know how much fragrance they have left. At the top of the bottle is a small eye spray, which is really easy to use and less hassle than a screw top, run of the mill bottle top.
When this scent is first sprayed, It provides a burst of fruitiness. The top notes to this scent are sangria, basil, rosemary and Lavender. I do not get the Lavender coming through at all. Which is a good thing as I hate the smell of lavender. But I do get the spicy kick of the basil coming through quite strongly initially then fading to reveal a very aromatic scent of deep, dark, fruity exoticness.
The top notes, of this fragrance change quite quickly. Which is a shame as I love this scent when first sprayed. However it does develop quickly to incorporate the delicious heart notes of the scent. These centre ingredients for me, are a great combination of seductive ingredients which ooze masculinity from every pore. The heart notes are mexican black sage, green peppercorns and tea. I can certainly pick up on these ingredients as there is very earthy, dark and sultry conotations mixed with a hit of spice and muskiness of the tea. These middle notes linger for much longer than the top notes. Although Ive found that you still get little cheeky kicks of the basil coming through.
The base notes of this scent are much more light and sweet, I think this is a perfect completion to the scent as it needs a slight sweetness to compliment the dark and heavy masculinity of the other ingredients. The base notes of this scent are black suede, vanilla, ebony wood and patchouli. I can certainly smell the vanilla within these base notes and also the slight sweetness like a burning wood type smell. Also the patchouli comes in nicely right at the end to offer a much needed lightness to the scent. I feel these base notes soften the fragrance quite significantly and allow the scent to become more subtle and light.
I would say, that although I find this fragrance very masculine and sexy, It has it's downfalls. Firstly I do not think this scent is very good in maintaining it's allure. The scent is constantly evolving, but it has no sustainability. I've noticed that if my husband wears this out of an evening, by half way through the evening the scent is so light that I can hardly smell it. It has no real staying power.
This fragrance is so very reasonable, it retails for around £12 for a 100ml bottle. Which I think is fantastic value. I would recommend browsing through internet fragrance sites, as they often have great discounts. I would say this is certainly more of a man's man fragrance. It is dark, deep and sensual. It oozes masculinity and is very alpha male which is why I find it so damn sexy. It is also slightly cheeky and flirty.
My wife and I recently headed down to visit her family and I received a bottle of FCUK for Him Eau de Toilette from one of her sisters but with a collection of fragrances I love already how has this one faired?
I have long been a fan of FCUK products and found that they are normally well thought out and executed and as I have some skin problems I am always looking for products that don't affect me too badly and I am pleased to say FCUK has always fallen into this category so with the Eau de Toilette I felt no worries about any reactions with my skin as I have experienced with some fragrances in the past and thankfully I have been proven right in this faith.
The fragrance is one which is seductive and edgy with the first wave of scents being mainly of sangria, basil, rosemary and lavender before the giving way to ingredients including hemp, mexican black sage, green peppercorns, tea, black suede, vanilla, ebony and patchouli that all combine to make a fragrance that manages to give excellent depth without being overpowering or confusing to the senses.
Best described as a sexy, woody oriental style fragrance this is perfectly suited to the modern man who is confident and daring.
I love the smell of this fragrance but unfortunately find that once applied it is not long until the smell is almost completely worn off which is a massive disappointment. Overall this is a great fragrance for the younger males who may not have many others in their collection but for me it just does not have the staying power to rate highly in my personal collection.
