Advantages: Great packaging

Disadvantages: Not entirely sold on the leather bit

This is a review of Fan di Fendi Eau de Toilette. I received a generous 4ml sample with a beauty box so got to try without buying really which is a good job as this is quite expensive perfume.

About the EDT
The fragrance is described as vibrant and lively, leaving a lasting impression of light, addictive Roman leather on the skin. I think this is a really interesting description and was interested to find out more about the ingredients. This EDT was released the summer after the EDP in the range as a new fresher version. The packaging is the same though so the only difference will be the smell (and price!). "A luminous floral on a base of light leather" still keeps us guessing. But I can now reveal that the perfume is enriched with fresh green tones and invigorating citruses. There are Sicilian bergamot, Calabrian mandarin, pear, green tea, Italian broom, yellow jasmine and of course we can't forget the leather tones in the composition.

Price
30ml retails at £35 at Debenhams, or you can get 50ml for £50 or 75ml for £60 so the bigger you go, the more value for money you get. Gift sets are also available with this EDT including body lotion and shower gel.

Packaging
The bottle is quite charming, even in my miniature size it is a replica of the larger bottles. The body of the bottle is glass with the famous Fendi branding you see on the buckle of the famous baguette bags. The top is quite special too as it is meant to replicate a 'peekaboo bag clasp' which is ambitious for a perfume bottle. The Glass and white metal effect is certainly eye catching. The bottle then comes boxed to keep it out of sunlight and sealed.

My experience of this EDT
I have to say I am glad I got to try this but it won't be one that I would buy in full size as I'm just not that keen on it. It is quite light and citrusy so perhaps ideal for the Summer months or holidays but for me it just wasn't feminine enough and to be fair, the ingredients are not the sort I would usually veer towards.

Recommended?
I am sure that as with all perfumes, some will love it and some will hate it. For me I sit more towards the 'hate' side of the sliding scale so would not recommend it to friends but I wouldn't stop a friend from buying it if she really liked it. As for a present suggestion, I would recommend not to buy this EDT as it is a bit too much of an individual smell to be enjoyed by all and could be a risky purchase. There are some fragrances out there that are more generic and would be a safer buy.

Final word
I didn't absolutely hate this perfume and love the miniature replica style bottle I have and I will use the contents so it can't be that bad! I found the fragrance to be long lasting and quite a unique smell but I think it's the leather part of the smell that puts me off. I wouldn't mind it on a man's aftershave but it just adds something a bit too much to this EDT.

Summary: Nice enough but not a repeat purchase for me
