Fendi Uomo Eau de Cologne
Advantages: Intense smell, Lasts long, Stylish box & container, Many flavours, Inimitable
Disadvantages: Some places sell for nearer the £41.00 RRP - expensive
I have had this aftershave for a while, and it has to be one of my favourite, for it stays on my skin extremely well and gives off a lovely fragrance the whole day, without wearing off. It was originally launched in 1988 by Fendi, but has been re-launched. I must say, it has an old kind of smell to it, in the way it is very luxurious and unique.
It comes in an extremely stylish container that fits perfectly inside its box. The colour scheme is a grey, beige and gold one with a variety of different texture feels to it. It comes in a square box that has symmetrical stripes going down the front. At either end are grey stripes with a granite or marble effect with one in the middle. In between are beige stripes, which have a similar effect but more sandy. It is a very distinct and unique look that I have never really seen before, and I love it. In the middle stripe is the Fendi logo, with the Fendi Uomo title below, which is the name of this aftershave. It is an Eau De Toilette and comes in a 100ml container, although it seems a lot bigger, but this is just the design. The rest of the box is just grey in the same way as the stripes on the front, but these stripes are carried onto the top of the box on the flap, from which you open it. The back of the box states that it is Made in Italy, and also gives you the ingredients of the aftershave, which consists of alcohol, so is flammable.
Opening the box, the aftershave bottle fits very snug in there to avoid breakage. Pulling it out, you will find that it is surprisingly heavy, but don't get the idea that it's like lead, because it really isn't that bad; just heavier than you would expect. The container is extremely stylish, and perhaps one of the most unique ones I have seen. The bulk of it is in this marble grey texture, with curved edges - the bottle being square. Horizontally across the middle is a glass panel, where you can see through and see the aftershave in there. The glass has the Fendi Uomo logo once again on it in black writing. The glass stripe goes all the way round, and is bordered either side with shiny gold stripes. This brings an added lush look to it, which is carried on with the lid. The lid is quite big, and covers the nozzle well, preventing leakage. The lid has the same grey marble effect with gold stripes down the edge, perpendicular to those on the glass on the main body. The lid easily and smoothly slides off simply by lifting it off to reveal the expensive-looking nozzle that is coated in gold. This nozzle works very well at giving out an even and well spread burst of this intense aftershave.
The smell is just amazing - very unique and strong too. It is hard to explain, but it does just smell like an old aftershave, not surprising it was released in 1988 originally. When you first spray it, you are shocked literally by a burst of strong scents that fills the air. It smells like so many different flavours are in it, making it adventurous and lovely. The fragrance is rather dry with a woody and very lush smell. The scent is brought out by leather, oak, musk, pepper, citrus and sage. It is a very distinctive aftershave, smelling like no other. If you are walking around with this on, it makes you feel somewhat posh and proud. The smell is simply adorable and very masculine. The fragrance seems to glue to my skin and give off this lovely odour the whole day. When I get home from work, I can still smell the intense flavours of the aftershave, making it well-worth the buy.
The RRP of this product is in fact £41.00; however you can get it much cheaper in shops nowadays for around £20-30 depending on where you go. Possibly the duty free stores at airports are the best place to look for this one, as they normally offer aftershaves at good prices without tax. The price is pretty good for 100ml, and it is a very inimitable one of a kind.
I suggest that you at least try out this aftershave, if not buy it whilst you can. It is so unique to all other aftershaves, and gives off a lovely masculine and lush fragrance that lasts all day. The intensity of the flavours when you first spray it on are quite amazing. The aftershave comes in a well-designed box with a matching bottle that is also unique to any other aftershave I have seen. It is a very posh-looking aftershave, which is definitely emphasised by its masculine and luxurious smell.
