Advantages: smells fresh
I like a lot of the well known fragrances that have been out a while and one that I got in my miniature perfumes collection was this Ghost Eau de Toilette. I have heard a lot about Ghost perfumes but I had never owned one until I got this and I have to say, I loved it from the first sniff. It is a really nice perfume, very pleasant and it is rare for me to love a perfume instantly like I did this one but it is the kind I like. This fragrance was launched in 2000 so it isn't brand new but it is still a well known one.
The design of this bottle is very elegant, it is almost shaped like a figure as it curves in to look like a waist almost and it is like a frosted glass bottle but it is all blue with the word Ghost in silver at the bottom, it is almost ghostly in appearance but it matches the scent. It has a thick cylinder like lid at the top and other than that it is quite simple really, nothing too fancy but it stands out for its boldness. I like that the design isn't too much and it is very too the point as it has a distinct look to it.
With this Ghost eau de toilette, as I said above, as soon as I sniffed it, I loved it instantly. It was really fresh, and clean smelling almost like Davidoff cool water in a way but it has a really feminine scent. It is very refreshing and casual, and there isn't too much else to say other than that it is musky but lightly flowery although this is not really too clear until you really smell it and get a further idea. It is the kind of fragrance I love being so easy to wear and cool and it just seems symbolised so well by the bottle.
I only sprayed this once or twice when I put it on as I wanted to see how much I needed but I found that was exactly enough, maybe a couple more sprays if you really want to be noticed. The staying power on this perfume is good, it always lasts me a whole day at work and the evening when I wear it, which is quite a long day and no reapplication needed. I feel this is a fragrance maybe for a younger target market as maybe for an older person, it may seem just a bit too youthful.
I think this perfume is great for either night or daytime wear but maybe moreso daytime as being quite a casual scent, it seems more appropriate as in the evening, you may want something that little bit heavier and romantic. The femininity of it is nice as you want it to be like that and just to be able to spray it whenever and have it uplift the mood. I have worn this quite a lot since getting it and I always get people at work asking me what I am wearing so it definitely gets noticed.
In terms of the actual notes the perfume is made up of, it is made from incense, sandalwood, musk, vanilla and amber so these are all the base notes which makes a lovely sweetness but yet woodiness too and it does work very well. For the heart notes it has jasmine, hibiscus and apricot which adds that light fruitiness to the mix in a subtle way and for top notes it has ambrette seeds and rose so really quite a few notes but it creates the perfect combination for this lovely fragrance.
Basing my prices on The Perfume Shop a 30ml EDT is £23.99, a 50ml EDT is £32.99 and a 100ml is £45.99 and the 30ml gift set is £23.99 which is the same as the perfume on its own but you get body lotion so this is the better buy. The 50ml gift set is £26.99 so you save £6 buying this set than buying the 50ml alone.
