All of the Ghost perfume collection that I have tried, I like and Ghost Luminous is no different. I received this as a Christmas present and had to say I had not really seen it before, which is probably because it is relatively new to the market and I don't buy myself too many perfumes!

Ghost Luminous

Ghost have a large range of perfumes for women, of which I have tried three. The Luminous perfume is one of their more recent fragrances originally launched in 2009. The bottle has a lovely elegant appearance and shape to it. It is made of a slender and smooth circular glass that is about 20 cm tall with a thinner top and widening base to the bottom of the bottle. The glass is cut in a swirly pattern on the front. The top of the bottle has a removable plastic cap that keeps the spray nozzle safe and the perfume fresh.

The bottle just has the Ghost branding in simple lettering on the front. Ghost say that the bottle is meant to represent the form of a glowing lantern. It actually reminds me slightly of the Lord of the Rings gift from the elves to Frodo! The Light of Eärendil.

The perfume comes in a pale peach coloured cardboard box, again very simple and plain but elegant at the same time.

The Perfume

The perfume is a rich peachy amber colour and reminds me of spring and summer months. It looks a very fresh and romantic scent. On spraying the scent you get a burst of Vitamin C! It is a very fruity smelling perfume, fresh and sharp!

Top notes: orange, pineapple, black currant, melon, green apple, bergamot and red apple;

Middle notes: violet, freesia, jasmine, raspberry leaf, lily-of-the-valley and rose;

Base notes: sandalwood, raspberry, vetiver and peach.

So a very fruity perfume, not one for the deep and sensual perfume fans. The fragrance is sweet, light and fruit filled and is best suited to spring and summer month I find. I always take this along on my holidays as it smells so refreshing and light on my skin. On spraying you get hit with the calming freshness of bergamot, champagne and sea breeze accord to awaken the senses, and it really does.

The staying power is not amazing being such a fruit and sweet based perfume, but it lasts a good few hours and is lovely. The fragrance is apparently inspired by the modern woman, "who appreciates she has the inner light to shine naturally", which kind of suggests to me that it doesn't have much of a fragrance to do! But it does and it is lovely and addictive.

A great buy for the summer :)
