I have been a massive fan of the "ghost" range after receiving a miniature scent gift set containing ghost and ghost night. Late last year I decided to add to my fragrance collection by buying another. I went into Superdrug one lunch time and noticed the ghost range was on offer so brought 2 Ghost whisper and ghost sweetheart. Price/Availability I was lucky to buy my 30ml on offer in Superdrug which was 2 bottles of the ghost range 30ml for £30 which is a great offer as this makes it £15 each. When its no offer it normally retails for around £25 or £33 for a 50ml bottle. This is available in Boots, Superdrug, Debenhams and other online retailers. Its worth looking around for deals and discounts available on these. Packaging This comes in a pinky peach box with the ghost label in white, its simple but its in line with the ghost range as they all have their own "colour" so its easy to tell which one is which. The bottle is tube shaped and clear with the liquid inside. Scent The first spray of this brings a lovely fruity floral scent, there is a definite hint of rose and jasmine coupled with citrus fruits. The scent combined creates a lovely day time summer smell that reminds me of hot summer days in the park. It settles well on the skin and settles into a almost musky smell which lingers on the skin for a good few hours hours. I wear this one quite a bit I like to wear this to work or on a nice sunny day, I think its important to try and reflect your scent with the weather and this works well with the sun. Although its floral and fruity I don't think its at all sweet or sickly and its not over powering to the user. Overall I like this scent very much. I was glad I got these on offer 2 for £30 as I do think the ghost range is very good and I think theres something for everybody within the range. I think they make great gifts aswell its just knowing which scents people like! This is floral and summery but not to sweet or sickly so its ideal for those who like sweet perfumes but not ones that are to overpowering.
This is a classy and very stylish fragrance to wear and one that I like a lot. It is what I would call a "safe" fragrance, it does not try to be too innovative or different it just does the basics really well which in terms of fragrance means that it has good staying power and smells fresh and attractive for a long period of time. The design of the bottle is nice and elegant, a tapered effect with very smooth lines. Thin and elegant are the words that spring to mind when I look at it. I paid £24.99 for a 30ml bottle so it is reasonably priced especially considering how long it lasts. In terms of the notes well the top fruity notes consist of pineapple, lemon and spearmint while the floral middle notes are made up of rose, lily of the valley, jasmine and heliotrope. The base notes are sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss and caramel. The fruity tones are the first to hit you upon application, a nice smooth citrus smell where the lemons come to the fore accompanied by the sweeter pineapple smell. Once this has settled down you get more of a floral fragrance that is very refined and nice and warm as well. I can also detect the sandalwood and vanilla in this fragrance as well and the overall combination is excellent. What is very noticeable about this fragrance is the longevity of the perfume. It starts out strong and barely fades throughout the day. For me this is certainly a day scent however it is not out of its depth as an evening spray either but I prefer to apply it in the morning to enjoy the fresh citrus fragrance and then the more mature floral smell as the day wears on. Overall this is a five star fragrance in my opinion and one that I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending.
Until about two years ago I had paid absolutely no attention to this perfume, I'd seen it in perfume stores and online - and obviously on reviews but not really had any inclination to try it. However, about two years ago I was going on a night out with a friend of mine, and she was wearing this gorgeous scent - by the time I noticed it I was a little bit drunk so it didn't occur to me until the following morning to ask her what it was. At that point she told me what it was and sent me home with a squirt on my wrists, so from that point on I was in love with this perfume. It took me a good eight months to persuade my boyfriend to buy me this perfume, but Christmas 2011 I got my bottle of Ghost and after that point I was literally wearing it every day I was leaving the house! ~*~ Ghost ~*~ Until this point I didn't really know a lot about the Ghost Fragrances - thought I should have a look at the history of the fragrance before I started writing about it. Ghost fragrances originally came from a fashion house back in the late eighties; Tanya Sarne had clothing out in many stores and from the sharp suits and floaty designs came the first Ghost fragrance in 2000. The original Ghost fragrance that came out in 2000 brought with it the original design of the bottle of a woman's silhouette, which they say is a part of the brands design to represent total femininity. They then brought out their next fragrance which is one you might recognise the gorgeous crescent moon shaped Deep Night. Since then they have continued to bring out, feminine and floral fragrances - although the fragrance and clothing company now work separately they strive to complement each other with their feminine fragrances. Most women have owned or smelt a Ghost fragrance at some point in their lives it's an on-going brand, that for as long as it keeps producing these gorgeous scents I think will carry on for a long time to come - which is brilliant for me as I think this perfume is the best smelling one I've ever owned! ~*~ My Sweetheart ~*~ I'm not normally one to write what notes are in a fragrance but since I was on the Ghost website I happened to spot the notes that are in this perfume... Top Notes Lemon,Green Notes,Spearmint And Pineapple. Heart of the Perfume Jasmine,Lily-of-the-Valley (Muguet), Rose, And Heliotrope Base Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Oakmoss, Ambery notes, Tonka bean, Vanilla, And Caramel ~*~ Can You Smell The Caramel ~*~ When you first spray the perfume, the first smell that hits you is a very strong citrus scent I wouldn't quite agree it's a lemon smell but it definitely is a citrus smell it's more so a smell of orange and peach to me, but I can definitely smell the pineapple in this perfume. It takes a long time to get over that initial hint of scent on my skin it takes a good half hour to an hour until it's completely soaked into my skin - don't get me wrong there is no residue on the skin that would transfer onto clothing or anything that your skin would get near, but it takes a while for the scent to warm up. For some that might put them off, because it still smells quite strong to start with - however after the first hour or so it seems to develop into an entirely different scent. The strong citrus scent is replaced with a warm flowery scent, that is infectious everyone I've walked past with it on has loved the smell. You can smell the rose at this point it's not too strong like rose perfumes, but it has a nice warm hint of rose, this perfume in the first couple of hours of wearing it is a scent that sticks around really well, take a deep breath around your pulse points where you've applied the perfume and you'll notice that it still smells really warm even a few hours later. By the end of the day, the base notes really are sitting on your skin - the vanilla is very obvious, and now my thought about caramel in this perfume is one that baffles me, it's only if I smell a scarf that I've worn with this perfume on that I can begin to smell a tiny bit of caramel, it's a weird scent to put in a perfume but there is a part of me that really likes it! Spearmint is apparently a smell that's very potent in this perfume, to my friend that's worn this for a number of years but to me I can't smell anything remotely minty - and I don't think I'd want mint in my perfume, it would be like carrying around a tube of toothpaste round your neck and I don't really like that! The scent that I can smell throughout the day regardless of when I apply, and how long it's been on is the scent of amber; it seems to give the perfume warmth that a lot without a musky scent don't have. This is a rare perfume of mine that doesn't have musk in it actually, but the smell of the flowers and citrus mixed elements just make it an addictive smell. I've got it on now, and I keep sniffing my wrist, as every time I smell it - it seems to bring out a new aspect of the scent, and different ingredients that a sniff half hour before I wouldn't have noticed, for example just this second I had a quick whiff and I could detect a faint scent of sandalwood, that I don't notice all that often. It's normally when I've been working hard or doing a lot with my hands that I begin to smell the more woody scents in this perfume. If I'm sitting down just watching television or chatting with friends it seems to stick out with the citrus and floral scents more. ~*~ Longevity ~*~ This perfume is probably one of the longest lasting perfumes I've ever owned - given that I used to apply this at half four in the morning, and I could still smell it when I got home from work at half past nine at night, I'm happy to say this perfume is enough to keep me smelling sweet all day. Even if I'm running around like something nutty on a ward - it's also good for when you get a second to yourself to take in a deep breath and have a good whiff of this it's a nice calming effect on a person. For daytime wear, one spritz on pulse points is more than enough to keep my going all day, for evening I do apply a fair amount more and occasionally take the bottle out with me especially if it's a really warm night or I know I'm going to be meeting a lot of people in varying venues throughout the night. I much prefer wearing this perfume in the winter, because it's a perfume that once you've warmed up indoors or walking around with a nice scarf on it has such a warming quality to it - it's not got the fresh feeling to it that needs to be worn in the summer. It genuinely makes me feel warm; in coffee shops especially it brings out that lovely warm vanilla and caramel smell, that gives it that nice wintery warm feeling, put me, this perfume and a caramel latte in one room - it's the best smell in the world! If you want to wear it a lot in those summer months, spritzing it on regularly will keep that fresh citrus scent at the forefront of the smell and give you that nice fresh cooling smell that are ripe within the more summery fragrances. I try to be very sparing when I apply this perfume because I like it so much, and don't want to keep buying it because I would be poor - so I've had a bottle last me about six months before needing to buy another, but that is in the 50ml variety, they also do a 30ml and 75ml variety, I think I could make the 75ml last me a year if I was very sparing, but that's never going to happen I like it too much! ~*~ The Bottle ~*~ The bottle is beautiful and as Ghost explains on their website they make their perfume bottles to represent the silhouette of a woman which I really like. Although it's a plain bottle it's got a great shape, it's simple but effective when it comes to making it stand out, there's nothing worse than the bottles that are really over packaged and just feel like you're paying more for the bottle than the perfume inside. This bottle has frosted glass towards the bottom of the bottle, which makes it really tactile too as it has a nice feeling compared to the top of the bottle. It tapers up to the top to the lid which at times can take a bit of a tug to get off, it's well secured so even if you've got it in your bag you're unlikely to make it spray without realising it - although when you look at it, it seems loose but it's not. The nozzle I've never had a problem with spraying out of, and if I did I'd just wipe it with a damp cloth and I'm sure that would work it out. The bottle in the 50ml variety fits really nicely into your hand, which makes it really comfortable to spray in whichever direction you fancy, I find it a really nice bottle to spray with I can wrap my hands around it and get a good hold because it's not too bulky to get a hold of. The perfume inside is a peach colour which is the perfume not the bottle because that is plain clear glass, so when the bottle is full it looks really pretty especially when the sun is on it, but as the bottle gets closer to being empty the lovely colour is hidden inside the frosted part of the bottle so you can't see it as well. This is all just reminding me that I need a new bottle soon! ~*~ Price and Availability ~*~ This perfume is available in most perfume stores online and in store on the high street, Amazon have this at the moment for £20 including postage which is a bargain really given how well it lasts, how much beautiful scent you get for the money. You can actually buy it off the Ghost website for £25 for the 30ml bottle, with free next day delivery - which is actually quite expensive to be honest, you're better off checking websites and in store because you may find yourself a bargain. Especially when Boots have their fragrance offers during seasons like mothers day, valentines day and Christmas - if not, go for eBay there is always a bargain to be had there!
I have lots and lots of old perfumes lingering in my bathroom cupboard and this Ghost Sweetheart Eau De Toilette is one of them. To be honest I have had it over a year now so I don't remember who bought it or where I got it from! It comes in a thin girly, pink cardboard box which is quite nice and albeit relatively simple. The bottle of is very slim and tall which is cylindrical and then curves upwards and is rounder and bigger at the top. It's made of really durable glass and has been dropped on a couple of occasions (albeit on carpet!) and it has easily bounced back so it's tough. To be honest it is a really basic looking bottle and isn't interesting to look at, so in all honesty it actually stays in the box! The scent of this perfume (in my opinion) is quite unique. This has notes of the new fragrance fuse lemon, pineapple, spearmint, white flowers, sensual woods which do make it really sweet but sharp and very fruity. The lemon and pineapple I cannot really smell too much, but the notes of rose and sandalwood are far more distinctive and easy to sniff out. It is a strongly oriental reminiscent smell and I find I only need a few sprays from a distance as too close and it can be a bit suffocating and overpowering for me! I really like this perfume as a spring-summer scent (not that we are having much of one at the moment!) as it is light, sweet and really attractive. It isn't an overly bold scent but it does actually have good staying power, where it bubbles down to a oriental-fruity combo and I still get compliments throughout the day. Overall, I really like this scent, and to be honest I think I need to start wearing it again! It isn't as nice as some of my other perfumes (Marc Jacobs/Avon's Rare Gold) but it is a nice favourite for a splash of something new now and again. I have a 30ml bottle which retails at about £20 which is not too expensive so I think it's a reasonable perfume and would be a nice present for a lovely lady :)
I recieved this perfume as a christmas present. Having previously recieved other Ghost products that I wasn't keen on was a little unsure of this perfume.I have got to say I was very pleasently suprised! It has a lovely slightly floral smell that lingers all day and has recieved lots of compliments.
Ghost is a collection of fragrances created by Tanya Sarne. The current collection of Ghost fragrances on offer include titles such as Enchanted Bloom, Luminous and Deep Night. ~Ghost Sweetheart~ 'Sweet, cheerful - alluring and sensual' Sweetheart is an eau de toilette. A matching body lotion and shower gel can also be purchased to layer the scent on the skin. Sweetheart is described as being a modern, oriental scent which 'recalls the feeling of first love'. Sweetheart EDT, once sprayed onto skin, should develop and offer various fragrance notes for the wearer to appreciate. *Top notes offer the initial scent - sweet lemon, pineapple and spearmint *Heart notes create the main body of the scent - jasmine, heliotrope and rose *Base notes finish off the scent - vanilla, caramel and tonka ~Design~ Like the other Ghost fragrances, the bottle design for Sweetheart is simplistic and very feminine. The golden coloured liquid is presented in a tall, slender bottle which expands around the neck area. The bottle is transparent but slightly frosted and is finished with a rather cheap looking lid. The curvy nature of the bottle allows it to look feminine and understated. 'Ghost Sweetheart' is neatly printed on the front and the bottle is left uncomplicated. ~Price and Avalability~ Ghost fragrances are often cheaper than more premium designer brands. Ghost Sweetheart is widely available in 30ml, 50ml and 75ml sized bottles. Stockists include : *www.escentual.com - £21.15 - £39.50 *www.lloydspharmacy.com - £19.99 (30ml) *The Perfume Shop - £23.99 - £32.99 ~My Thoughts~ I am a huge fan of the Ghost brand and have tried just about every fragrance and body lotion they offer. Sweetheart is a recent purchase. I had previously bought and reviewed the body lotion of this fragrance (Feb 2011) but it took me so long to get around to trying the actual EDT. I have now tried both - together and alone and have been very impressed with this gorgeous scent. Sweetheart has what I call a 'classic' combination of fragrance notes. By this I mean fruity/fresh top notes, floral heart notes and a dry down of sweet or woody base notes. That being said, it isn't a run of the mill, identical to every other type scent. It has its own individual qualities. Being an eau de toilette, one cannot expect the strength or staying power of an eau de parfum. Many of the Ghost fragrances are day time scents but I feel Ghost Sweetheart is more of an early evening, romantic type scent that would suit a young girl through to a more mature lady. ~Spray Me Sweetheart~ Sweetheart EDT has a pleasant strength when first sprayed onto the skin. It doesn't have that strong, alcohol burst which cheaper scents tend to inflict and is delicious fragrance straight from the start. The opening scent is gorgeous - very fresh and feminine. The pineapple and lemon form an exotic, sweet and zesty blend which is very natural and delicate. The fresh element is offered by the spearmint. It lightens the scent and makes it suitable for Summer evenings. The sweet, fruitiness from the top notes flows through to mingle with the heart notes after an hour or so. The floral notes used here are well chosen in my opinion. They aren't too heavy or cloying but you can notice the individual notes. The floral combination isn't fresh and subtle - it is more a fluttery, powdery scent with delicate white florals. The jasmine starts to come into play after an hour or two an d really adds substance and depth to the scent and enhancing the 'romantic' feel. The dry down combo is quite strong on my skin in comparison to the rest of the scent. This is my favourite part of the overall fragrance as I am a sweet addict. This is a true treat for the senses and is very natural, dessert like scent. The vanilla plays the biggest role in the base notes - very rich, creamy and naturally sweetened. The caramel compliments the vanilla and definitely adds 'flavour' to the fragrance. It is seductively sweet with a burnt sugar undertone. Highly unusual and most addictive. ~Conclusion~ Sweetheart EDT is a gorgeous, feminine fragrance which lasts for a good 6 hours or so on bare skin. I find it beneficial to wear the body lotion during the day and spray on the EDT late afternoon. This allows the overall scent to last through to late evening. I always feel special when wearing this fragrance and have been impressed with how lovely it actually smells and how well it flows. I do seem to go through a lot of it so one bottle hasn't last me very long but I do love it! Thanks for reading :)
I was given a bottle of this perfume by a friend a few weeks ago for my birthday. Although aware of this Ghost perfume range I'd never actually tried any of it before so was unsure what to expect but rather excited to give it a go at the same time. Apparently my friend told the store assistant in Boots that I liked Black XS and this was the recommendation from that bit of information. Why, I'm not so sure as the only thing the two fragrances seem to have in common is the fact they're both perfume. Of course, that's not to say I don't like it! The perfume is presented in a tall, slim bottle with a curve in the middle. The colour of the bottle is pale pink at the bottom but gradually fades to be completely clear. 'Ghost Sweetheart' is written in white font at the top of the bottle and it has a overly feminine appearance. Such an appearance, I feel, matches the scent of this perfume perfectly. The scent is very sweet and flowery, very 'girly' and the the scent you imagine in your head when you hear the word 'sweetheart' is pretty much accurate. It's a strong scent at first but I find it quickly fades to a much more subtle smell which brings out the sweetness even further. Unfortunately, however, the scent continues to fade until it's only really detectable if you give your wrist a proper sniff, I would estimate this happens after about five hours. Obviously you want something a little longer lasting if you plan on wearing this all day. If I had picked up a tester of this in boots I don't think I would personally have brought it, I don't dislike the smell it's just not something I'd have gone for. I much prefer the spicy sort of scents to the sweet ones. If I had of brought it myself I would definitely be disappointed with the lack of lasting effects this perfume has. While I'm happy to continue wearing this every now and again while I have a bottle I was given as a gift I don't think I'll be replacing it once I've ran out, there are much nicer perfumes out there for similar money! A 50ml bottle of Ghost Sweetheart costs about £22 from Boots which isn't too bad of a price but I feel the quality of the perfume certainly shows this isn't the most expensive.
I have never brought myself any of the Ghost range before but for Christmas my parents brought me Ghost Sweetheart and I was pleasantly surprised. The box was a tall, solid pink box with white writing on it. On opening the box it had a piece of card inserted in the box. I can only imaging this to keep the bottle secure. The perfume bottle itself is thick glass in an hour glass sort of shape. The glass is slightly smokey. The perfume is a peachy/pink colour. The silver spray top is very secure and so far hasn't failed on me. The fragrance of this perfume is as the name suggests...sweet but is feminine and not sickly. This fragrance is quite subtle and doesn't appear to last too long. I need to apply this perfume after about 5 hours. Ghost Sweetheart claim - It is feminine, sensual and enchanting. It is a modern, oriental floral fragrance that evokes the tender-sweet innocence of new, young love. Sweetheart opens with fresh notes of sweet Lemon, pineapple and spearmint, followed by a light hint of white flowers. In the base, sensual and woody notes create a lingering impression of romance. **My Opinion I do like this perfume fragrance and the bottles design but for me it's too subtle and understated. I like a perfume with abit of kick. Ghost Sweetheart is ideal for a daily light perfume. The cost is very reasonable - Amazon - 50ml = £24.80 Cheap Smells - 50ml = £24.80
My first experience of Ghost perfumes was a number of years ago when I bought a bottle of the original Ghost perfume for my eldest daughter. Since then, there have been a few other additions to the Ghost range such as Deep Night, Cherish, Luminous and Captivating and this one which I own - Ghost Sweetheart. My youngest daughter was bought a bottle of this as a gift and I thought it was a nice fragrance when she was wearing it and commented on it at the time. Not long after, she kindly bought me a bottle which I used quite often until it was all gone. I was missing having some of this fragrance and then this Mother's Day she surprised me with another bottle, so once again I can enjoy wearing Ghost Sweetheart. Ghost Sweetheat is described as a feminine, sensual and enchanting perfume. I am a fan of musky, spicy or Oriental fragrances and Ghost Sweetheart is a modern oriental floral fragrance. What surprises me the most is that I have never been a fan of any floral fragrances, yet there is a slight floral scent to this fragrance and I actually like it. I think it is because it blends so well with the other notes and is not overly floral, just merely a hint, which is just enough for me. On spraying Ghost Sweetheart onto my skin it is a blend of fruity scents that hit you first. The lemon, pineapple and mint notes blend together to give a heady fruity scent, but this quickly fades as you begin to detect the rose, heliotrope and white florals making a subtle appearance with a hint of jasmine . The base of this fragrance contains caramel, amber and woody notes, which give it an overall Oriental scent. I can also detect patchouli, which I really like and is included in a few of my favourite fragrances. After a few seconds on my skin, the fruity and floral notes have blended and it is an overall woody scent with a fruity twist that I am left with. The notes are said to be held in a sensual tonka bean wrap that instantly capture the spirit of romance. A romantic, feminine fragrance is an ideal way to describe Ghost Sweetheart and I believe it is one of those fragrances that appeals to many, whether you are a fan of sensual, musky, oriental or floral fragrances, there is really something in this fragrance which gives it a universal appeal. Whilst is is sweeter than any other fragrance I own, it is not overly so. The blend appears to be just right with the woodier scents toning down the sweeter notes. I personally would describe it as an everyday fragrance and I wear this for work and during the daytime when at home, as I prefer a more sensual perfume for evening time or when going out. Some muskier fragrances I wear, contain heavier patchouli and woody notes, but with Ghost Sweetheart, these notes are lighter, which make it an ideal daytime fragrance. Although it seemed to be marketed towards young girls, I think this is a fragrance to suit all age ranges despite Ghost Sweetheart apparently being the 'vison of young women.' Ghost Sweetheart is also a fragrance which is long-lasting. I can use this on a morning and still smell it on myself on an afternoon, which is another plus point for this fragrance as good staying power is something I particularly welcome in a fragrance. The bottle itself is nothing unique, but is a modern, sleek design and the pretty peach coloured box is attractive too. I would think maybe on looking at the box, you would be forgiven for initially thinking that this is a very floral or fruity, feminine fragrance. I know I did. However, when you spray this fragrance you will be surprised to discover the Oriental tones which you maybe wouldn't expect by the looks of the packaging alone. I really like wearing Ghost Sweetheart as an everyday fragrance and the fact I am onto my second bottle shows how much I like this fragrance. Prices vary for this fragrance but you can usually pick up a 30ml bottle of Eau de Toilette for around £20 - £22 rising to £30 for a 50ml bottle. Ghost Sweetheart is also available as a boxed gift set with matching body lotion and often buying these sets works out to be better value than just buying the perfume on its own, so it is always worth checking these out as the body lotion is really nice too!
Being such a big fan of the Ghost fragrances i have tried every one from their collection and this one was no let down. I liked it almost just as much as all the others, except it is a little too much on the sweet side. I guess that's why it's called Sweetheart! I usally love sweety smelling perfumes, but this one is just a little too sweet sometimes. It isn't bad enough to stop me from wearing it though and i will continue to buy it. It smells a lot like lemons but it is still floral too. If your a fan of the Ghost fragrances then certainly give this one a try, but i would just advise that if you are put off by strong sweet smells then this one probably isn't for you. The bottle it comes in is quite standard compared to some of the other Ghost perfume bottles, it's nothing fancy. I'd definetly test this one out before you buy just to make sure it's not too sweet for you, still a lovely perfume though. You can get a 30ml bottle for around £23.
I am always on the look out for new perfumes. I am never very good at picking them. If I go into a shop and smell all the fragrences my head gets in a muddle and I can't pick out any specific ones I like more than the last one I smelt! Therefore I can only spot a good perfume when I pinch them off someone else, if someone else has a nice scent on which I like, I ask what it is and then possibly go out and buy it myself! The other day one of my friends had a lovely summery smell on. I asked what it was and knowing my on going perfume predicament she recommended I try Ghost sweetheart. The idea appealed to me quite quickly as I already used Ghost dark night which I really like for the evenings so it seemed like this could be a complimentary scent to that one. I scoured the internet and found a good deal on the set, a 30ml perfume and a 50ml body lotion, reduced at Debenehams. It even came in a nice box set and would be ideal for a present, in fact since, I have ordered two more for Christmas and Birthday presents. The packaging is light, modern, young and pink, which gives a good representation of what to expect from the scent in my opinion. The bottle itself is glass and long and thin, and goes in in the middle. The perfume has a pull off lid with a press down spray nozzle. It is nice and easy to apply accuarately. The scent is quite light, ideal for day times, it is fruity and oriental, and smells of a fresh and fun summers day, completely different to Ghost deep night, but both are lovely attheir opposite ends of the spectrum. if you are after something light and summery then give this a go, the floral smell is not too overpowering and mumsy, I promise!
- - - - - - - - - - The fragrance - - - - - - - - - SWEETHEART applies with lemon and a faint-but-fresh rush of spearmint, prevented from being syrupy by lightly sweet (but non-cloying) pineapple. It soon settles into delicate, slightly powdery floral notes - the standout note being rose [like Ghost's signature fragrance]. The drydown is so comforting; The vanilla and caramel is warm and creamy. It sounds syrupy sweet, but it isn't; It retains the powdery elements from the middle phase. - - - - - - - - - - Scent notes - - - - - - - - - - Sweet Lemon, Spearmint, Pineapple, Green Foliage Accord, Rose, Muguet, Jasmine, Heliotrope, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver, Oakmoss, Caramel, Tonka Bean, Amber Notes, Vanilla - - - - - - - - The bottle - - - - - - - - It has the same curvy, easy-grip bottle shape as Ghost's signature fragrance, though it's not a flanker. Maybe it's because both fragrances use rose as a key scent note? The apricot coloured glass of the bottle is thick; I've dropped my bottle quite a few times, but it hasn't smashed - it really is an easy grip bottle, I'm just really dopey :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other buying considerations - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The only negative I have is the fragrance's staying power; After one hour it goes close to the skin and within three hours of application it's gone. Sweetheart can be worn all year round; I don't find the sweet notes sickly in warmer weather or the fruit and spearmint 'cold' in the worst weather thrown at us during the winter months. It is ideal for a day-to-day fragrance. But it's not strong or unique enough for an evening fragrance. - - - - - - - - - - My opinion - - - - - - - - - - I like SWEETHEART so much as I wear fragrance for me: this is something you can enjoy, without the whole office also getting a big whiff of it. So it's ideal if you work in a enclosed office. I'll continue to re-buy it as it's very easy to wear and is nicely feminine without being sickly sweet and cloying and it's not a fragrance I notice a lot of other women wearing [and I'm forever trying to guess what fragrance other people are wearing. Yes; I'm a bit weird]. - - - - - Price - - - - - 30ml: £23.00 50ml: £30.00 75ml: £43.00 I've noticed that the 75ml bottle has become quite rare and a few high street stores have seemed to have stopped stocking Sweetheart all together. I'm not sure that this is a sign of it being discontinued, but I'm going to buy another bottle just-in-case.
Another patchouli base scent! Sweetheart is yet another name added to the Ghost series of perfumes (theres so many now!) and this is definately the little sweet girl of the bunch. Sweetheart is Sweet sweet sweet!, its definately not a scent for anyone who's susceptable to headaches when wearing perfumes as at times I myself have got a headache. But it's such a beautiful girly scent, I can't help myself! Jasmine, and lily of the valley are its strongest scents for most of its duration, the mingle beautifully, and don't get too mixed up to smell muggy or musty. Vanilla, Patchouli and sandalwood end the scent. This base is pretty nice, it makes for a sweet musky scent, but it's this base that can give me the headache, it definately is for the sweet toothed scent lover. I'd say the scent is for someone who loves being a girl, it definately would be suited to teenagers, a great gift for the girl in school who loves her pink and fluffy things. Fresh, sweet and pretty. Thats what sweetheart is.
Christmas before last my mother-in-law bought me a Ghost original gift set, and I loved it. So when I saw the box in my gift bag this year I hoped it was another gift set, but als! It was Ghost Luminous. However, in my stocking from my better had was a perfume shaped box, and on opening it I had another bottle of Ghost, but not original or Luminous, it was Sweetheart! A tad disappointed, (not because I'm ungrateful, but because Ghost original is so lovely!) I decided to compare the two over the next couple of days. Ghost Sweetheart won it for me! The packaging is not bright pink, it's a rich peachy colour and the bottle is feminine, tall and slim. I would say it is more of an evening perfume, but lovely anytime for me. I usually steer clear of EDT's in favour of EDP's, as they tend to last longer on my skin, but in this case the perfume lasts a long while, in fact, all day. It is a strong perfume, very oreintal in scent, and only one to two sprays are in fact required, making it one which will last. The aroma is so nice. It has an oriental, spicy smell with a hint of sandalwood but floral at the same time. I was lucky enough to visit India in 1997 and on Christmas Day evening this year I closed my eyes after the hullaballo of Christmas Day with two kids, and the scent transported me back. For a fleeting moment, I was sitting overlooking the beach under the stars with the heady smells of distant spices in the air. Ghost Sweetheart has overtaken my previous favourite perfume.
Ghost Sweetheart is a feminine, sensual and enchanting fragrance / Sweetheart opens with a vibrant rush of sweet lemon and juicy, succulent pineapple, while a fusion of spearmint and fresh green leaves quicken the pulse / Then in the heart, heady heliotrope and voluptuous jasmine mingle with innocent white rose petals and lily of the valley to create a delicate, dreamy haze of white flowers / At last, delicious caramel and tantalising vanilla at the sensual, woody base are held in a tonka bean caress / Intimate, skin-loving notes of patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss and sandalwood are honeyed with golden amber notes to create a lingering and reassuring impression of romance.
